Multidentate naphthyridine-based ligands were used to prepare a series of diiron(II) complexes. The compound [Fe(2)(BPMAN)(mu-O(2)CPh)(2)](OTf)(2) (1), where BPMAN = 2,7-bis[bis(2-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl]-1,8-naphthyridine, exhibits two reversible oxidation waves with E(1/2) values at +310 and +733 mV vs Cp(2)Fe(+)/Cp(2)Fe, as revealed by cyclic voltammetry. Reaction with O(2) or H(2)O(2) affords a product with optical and M?ssbauer properties that are characteristic of a (mu-oxo)diiron(III) species. The complexes [Fe(2)(BPMAN)(mu-OH)(mu-O(2)CAr(Tol))](OTf)(2) (2) and [Fe(2)(BPMAN)(mu-OMe)(mu-O(2)CAr(Tol))](OTf)(2) (3) were synthesized, where Ar(Tol)CO(2)(-) is the sterically hindered ligand 2,6-di(p-tolyl)benzoate. Compound 2 has a reversible redox wave at +11 mV, and both 2 and 3 react with O(2), via a mixed-valent Fe(II)Fe(III) intermediate, to give final products that are also consistent with (mu-oxo)diiron(III) species. The paddle-wheel compound [Fe(2)(BBAN)(mu-O(2)CAr(Tol))(3)](OTf) (4), where BBAN = 2,7-bis(N,N-dibenzylaminomethyl)-1,8-naphthyridine, reacts with dioxygen to yield benzaldehyde via oxidative N-dealkylation of a benzyl group on BBAN, an internal substrate. In the presence of bis(4-methylbenzyl)amine, the reaction also produces p-tolualdehyde, revealing oxidation of an external substrate. A structurally related compound, [Fe(2)(BEAN)(mu-O(2)CAr(Tol))(3)](OTf) (5), where BEAN = 2,7-bis(N,N-diethylaminomethyl)-1,8-naphthyridine, does not undergo N-dealkylation, nor does it facilitate the oxidation of bis(4-methylbenzyl)amine. The contrast in reactivity of 4 and 5 is attributed to a difference in accessibility of the substrate to the diiron centers of the two compounds. The preparation of 6(A)-deoxy-6(A)-(6-(2-(1,4,7,10-tetraoxa-13-azacyclopentadecan-13-yl)acetamido)hexylamino)-alpha-cyclodextrin, 3, 6(A)-deoxy-6(A)-(6-(2-(1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxa-16-azacyclooctadecan-16-yl)acetamido)hexylamino)-alpha-cyclodextrin, 4, and their beta-cyclodextrin analogues, 5 and 6, are described. (1)H (600 MHz) ROESY NMR spectra of the C(6) substituted beta-cyclodextrins, 5 and 6, are consistent with the intramolecular complexation of their azacyclopentadecanyl- and azacyclooctadecanyl(acetamido)hexylamino substituents in the beta-cyclodextrin annulus in D(2)O at pD = 8.5 whereas those of their alpha-cyclodextrin analogues, 3 and 4 are not complexed in the alpha-cyclodextrin annulus. This is attributed to the monoazacoronand components of the substituents being able to pass through the beta-cyclodextrin annulus whereas they are too large to pass through the alpha-cyclodextrin annulus. However, the substituents of 3 and 4 are intermolecularly complexed by beta-cyclodextrin to form pseudo [2]-rotaxanes. Metallocyclodextrins are formed by 5 through complexation by the monoazacoronand substituent component for which log (K/dm(3) mol(-1))= <2, 6.34 and 5.38 for Ca(2+), Zn(2+) and La(3+), respectively, in aqueous solution at 298.2 K and I= 0.10 mol dm(-3)(NEt(4)ClO(4)). 相似文献

A new catalyst system for the enantioselective alpha-arylation of ketones is reported. This catalyst, prepared from Pd(2)(dba)(3) and a bulky dialkylphosphino-binaphthyl ligand, is able to effect the asymmetric arylation of ketone enolates with aryl bromides utilizing NaO(t)()Bu as base. These new catalysts enjoy much higher reactivity than previous systems; arylation reactions could be effected at room temperature with only 2 mol % of the Pd catalyst. The coupling of alpha-alkyl-alpha'-protected cyclopentanones proceeded in high yield, and the resulting quaternary stereogenic center was installed in up to 94% ee. 相似文献

Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions of aryl and heteroaryl halides with aryl-, heteroaryl- and vinylboronic acids proceed in very good to excellent yield with the use of 2-(2',6'-dimethoxybiphenyl)dicyclohexylphosphine, SPhos (1). This ligand confers unprecedented activity for these processes, allowing reactions to be performed at low catalyst levels, to prepare extremely hindered biaryls and to be carried out, in general, for reactions of aryl chlorides at room temperature. Additionally, structural studies of various 1.Pd complexes are presented along with computational data that help elucidate the efficacy that 1 imparts on Suzuki-Miyaura coupling processes. Moreover, a comparison of the reactions with 1 and with 2-(2',4',6'-triisopropylbiphenyl)diphenylphosphine (2) is presented that is informative in determining the relative importance of ligand bulk and electron-donating ability in the high activity of catalysts derived from ligands of this type.
