Radiative double electron capture (RDEC), occurring when two electrons are captured to a projectile ion with the simultaneous emission of a single photon, has been investigated. RDEC can be considered as the time inverse process of double photoionization. Strong evidence for RDEC is found in F9+ + N2 collisions and additionally for one-electron F8+ for which the probability for the process is expected to be considerably smaller. Preliminary values for the cross sections for RDEC have been determined. A significant advantage of the gas target is that multiple-collision effects seen for a solid target are avoided due to the single-collision conditions that prevail for gas targets. 相似文献

We present the first study of mixed alkanethiolate SAMs on ultrasmooth gold surfaces. By eliminating surface roughness, it became possible, for the first time, to investigate wetting properties as a function of surface chemical composition. In three different surface compositions, it was found that contact-angle hysteresis apparently vanished. This suggests that surface chemical heterogeneity does not contribute to contact-angle hysteresis in mixed SAMs on ultrasmooth gold surfaces. 相似文献

The experiments were carried out at nine constant total ionic strengths of I = 0.01, 0.025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 mol-kg−1, and at 11 temperatures from 5 to 55 ∘C, but at I = 2.0 mol-kg−1 the experimental temperatures were 5, 25 and 55 ∘C only. Harned's rule was used to represent all 728 experimental emf data points at the experimental ionic strengths and temperatures.
The quadratic terms in the Harned equations for the values of logγA were required for a good fit to the emf data, indicating the significance of ternary interactions at the experimental ionic

We report the experimental observation of traveling fronts during the electroless deposition of copper on passive steel substrates. The low-carbon steel samples are passivated in nitric acid prior to the plating experiment, thus creating a thin, protective oxide layer on the steel surface. The deposition experiments are carried out from slightly acidic (pH 3.2) copper sulfate solution and copper nitrate solution with the latter showing front propagation only in the presence of chloride ions. For up to 30 s, fronts propagate with constant velocities in the range from 0.5 to 5 mm/s depending on the experimental conditions. This phase of constant-speed propagation gives way to accelerating fronts and very rapid, spatially unstructured deposition. Front-mediated plating is observed over a wide range of cupric ion concentration and constitutes a striking and unexpected example for pattern formation in electrochemical systems. 相似文献

Attempts to crystallize Cu(2,6-dmpz)(NO3)2 (2,6-dmpz = 2,6-dimethylpyrazine) by reaction of 2,6-dmpz with Cu(NO3)2·3H2O in THF resulted in the synthesis of Cu(2,6-dmpz)2(NO3)2·THF. The compound crystallized in the monoclinic space group C2/c and exists as isolated molecules with distorted square pyramidal geometry: a = 11.609(4) Å, b = 10.415(3) Å, c = 18.256(6) Å, = 108.332(4)°.
