The adsorption behavior of α-octithiophene (8T) on the Au(111) surface as a function of 8T coverage has been studied with low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy, high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy as well as with angle-resolved two-photon photoemission and ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy. In the sub-monolayer regime 8T adopts a flat-lying adsorption geometry. Upon reaching the monolayer coverage the orientation of 8T molecules changes towards a tilted configuration, with the long molecular axis parallel to the surface plane, facilitating attractive intermolecular π-π-interactions. The photoemission intensity from the highest occupied molecular orbitals (HOMO and HOMO - 1) possesses a strong dependence on the adsorption geometry due to the direction of the involved transition dipole moment for the respective photoemission process. The change in molecular orientation as a function of coverage in the first molecular layer mirrors the delicate balance between intermolecular and molecule/substrate interactions. Fine tuning of these interactions opens up the possibility to control the molecular structure and accordingly the desirable functionality. 相似文献

Starting from earlier work by Baudler we introduce a chemical heuristic for the systematic deduction and classification of covalent partial structures of phosphorus in polycyclic phosphanes, phosphorus-rich polycyclic phosphides, and allotropes of phosphorus except the black forms. This approach is used to direct ab initio techniques (which also confirm the rules) in the quest for as yet unknown forms of molecular or macromolecular phosphorus. Based on calculated stabilities of systematically generated structural alternatives we rationalize the stabilities of Hittorf's phosphorus and of molecular P4, confirm the possible existence of at least one other crystalline allotropic form of phosphorus, and provide insight into the probable structure of amorphous red phosphorus. In total, the combined approach of chemical heuristics and large scale ab initio calculations presented in this work supplies a coherent chemical understanding of covalent polyphosphorus structures. 相似文献

Propene was polymerized at 40°C and 2-bar propene in toluene using methylalumoxane (MAO) activated rac-Me2Si(Benz[e]Indenyl)2ZrCl2 ( BI ) and rac-Me2Si(2-Me-Benz[e]Indenyl)2ZrCl2 ( MBI ). Catalyst BI /MAO polymerizes propene with high activity to afford low molecular weight polypropylene, whereas MBI /MAO is less active and produces high molecular weight polypropylene. Variation of reaction conditions such as propene concentration, temperature, concentration of catalyst components, and addition of hydrogen reveals that the lower molecular weight polypropylene produced with BI /MAO results from chain transfer to propene monomer following a 2,1-insertion. A large fraction of both metallocene catalyst systems is deactivated upon 2,1-insertion. Such dormant sites can be reactivated by H2-addition, which affords active metallocene hydrides. This effect of H2-addition is reflected by a decreasing content of head-to-head enchainment and the formation of polypropylene with n-butyl end groups. Both catalysts show a strong dependence of activity on propene concentration that indicates a formal reaction order of 1.7 with respect to propene. MBI /MAO shows a much higher dependence of the activity on temperature than BI /MAO. At elevated temperatures, MBI /MAO polymerizes propene faster than BI /MAO. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

The reaction of tBu(C(6)H(4)O(2))P, with the borane B(C(6)F(5))(3) gives rise to NMR data consistent with the formation of the classical Lewis acid-base adduct tBu(C(6)H(4)O(2))P(B(C(6)F(5))(3)) (1). In contrast, the NMR data for the corresponding reactions of tBu(C(20)H(12)O(2))P and Cl(C(20)H(12)O(2))P with B(C(6)F(5))(3) were consistent with the presence of equilibria between free phosphine and borane and the corresponding adducts. Nonetheless, in each case, the adducts tBu(C(20)H(12)O(2))P(B(C(6)F(5))(3)) (2) and Cl(C(20)H(12)O(2))P(B(C(6)F(5))(3)) (3) were isolable. The species 1 reacts with PhCCH to give the new species tBu(C(6)H(4)O(2))P(Ph)C=CHB(C(6)F(5))(3) (4) in near quantitative yield. In an analogous fashion, the addition of PhCCH to solutions of the phosphines tBu(C(20)H(12)O(2))P, tBuPCl(2) and (C(6)H(3)(2,4-tBu(2))O)(3)P each with an equivalent of B(C(6)F(5))(3) gave rise to L(Ph)C=CHB(C(6)F(5))(3) (L = tBu(C(20)H(12)O(2))P 5, tBuPCl(2)6 and (C(6)H(3)(2,4-tBu(2))O)(3)P 7). The installation of large scale colloidal nanoparticle thin films is of great interest in sensor technology or data storage. Often, such devices are operated at elevated temperatures. In the present study, we investigate the effect of heat treatment on the structure of colloidal thin films of polystyrene (PS) nanoparticles in situ by using the combination of grazing incidence small-angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS) and optical ellipsometry. In addition, the samples are investigated with optical microscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). To install large scale coatings on silicon wafers, spin-coating of colloidal pure PS nanoparticles and carboxylated PS nanoparticles is used. Our results indicate that thermal annealing in the vicinity of the glass transition temperature T(g) of pure PS leads to a rapid loss in the ordering of the nanoparticles in spin-coated films. For carboxylated particles, this loss of order is shifted to a higher temperature, which can be useful for applications at elevated temperatures. Our model assumes a softening of the boundaries between the individual colloidal spheres, leading to strong changes in the nanostructure morphology. While the nanostructure changes drastically, the macroscopic morphology remains unaffected by annealing near T(g). 相似文献

Thermal reaction of 1:1 mixtures of the RuCl(2)(PPh(3))(3) and phosphinoimine R(2)PN=CPh(2) (R = Ph, iPr, Me) at 140 °C results in isolation of the dimeric species [RuCl(μ-Cl)(PPh(3))(C(6)H(4)(PPh(2))C(Ph)NH)](2) (R = Ph 1, iPr 2, Me 3) containing phosphine-imine chelating ligands. Subsequent reaction of 1 and 3 with one equivalent of pyridine at room temperature give RuCl(2)(PPh(3))(py)(C(6)H(4)(PR(2))C(Ph)NH) (R = Ph 4, Me 5). Excess pyridine reacts with 2 to give a mixture of the cis and trans-isomers of RuCl(2)(py)(2)(C(6)H(4)(PiPr(2))C(Ph)NH) 6 and 7 respectively. Treatment of 5 with excess PPh(3) affords RuCl(2)(PPh(3))(2)(C(6)H(4)(PMe(2))C(Ph)NH) 8. Aspects of the mechanism of the thermal rearrangements of the phosphinoimine to the phosphine-imine ligands are considered and the isolation of RuCl(2)(Ph(2)PN=CPh(2))(SIMes)(CHPh) 9 and RuCl(2)(PPh(3))(2)(HN=C(Ph)C(6)H(4)) 10 provide support for a proposed mechanism involving a intermediate containing a Ru-bound metallated aryl-imine fragment. 相似文献

Enantiomerically pure N-methyl-, N-benzyl-, and N-(methoxyethyl)-S-(phenyl)cinnamylsulfoximines as well as the corresponding crotylsulfoximines have been prepared from N-methyl-, N-benzyl-, and N-(methoxyethyl)-S-(lithiomethyl)sulfoximines and carbonyl compounds by an addition-elimination-isomerization reaction sequence. Under basic conditions, complete isomerization of the vinylic sulfoximines, obtained as intermediates, to the corresponding allylic sulfoximines takes place. Chromatographically separable mixtures of (E) and (Z) allylic sulfoximines were isolated in the case of beta,gamma-disubstituted allylic sulfoximines. The (E/Z) ratio depends on the nature of the substituents in the beta- and gamma-positions, and the equilibrium amount of the (Z) isomer varies from 68% to nil. The allylic N-methylsulfoximines do not racemize thermally, and their rearrangement to the corresponding allylic sulfinamides is negligible. Upon prolonged treatment with boron trifluoride at low temperatures allylic N-methylsulfoximines are recovered unchanged. The crystal structure of S-(3,4-dihydronaphthalen-2-ylmethyl)-N-methyl-S-phenylsulfoximine was determined. Reaction of the allylic sulfoximines with butylcopper in the presence of lithium iodide and boron trifluoride leads with very high gamma-selectivities and moderate to high enantioselectivities to the corresponding chiral alkenes. Their configuration was determined by chemical correlation through ozonolysis to the corresponding carbonyl compounds. The asymmetric induction exerted by the chiral N-methyl-S-phenylsulfoximine group strongly depends on the double bond configuration and the substituents in the beta- and gamma-positions. The (E) allylic sulfoximines are substituted with low to moderate enantioselectivities (2-66%), whereas the (Z) allylic sulfoximines react with much higher enantioselectivities (69-92%). Interestingly, substitution of the beta-methyl-gamma-phenyl-substituted (Z) allylic sulfoximine and its beta-phenyl-gamma-methyl isomer proceeded with almost the same degree of asymmetric induction but with the opposite sense. Replacement of the N-methyl group by a benzyl or a methoxyethyl group has no significant influence on the regio- and enantioselectivity of the substitution. 相似文献

Background levels of platinum were determined in human autopsy tissues taken from five individuals. The investigated specimens were lung, liver and kidney. Sample preparation involved microwave digestion followed by an open vessel treatment. Inductively-coupled plasma sector field mass spectrometry (ICP-SFMS) was applied in combination with an ultrasonic nebulization/membrane desolvation system for sample introduction. Isotope dilution analysis was employed for accurate quantification of platinum. Excellent procedural detection limits (3 s validation) of 20, 20 and 34 pg g–1 dry weight were obtained for lung, liver and kidney tissue, respectively. Due to the lack of appropriate biological reference material, road dust (BCR-723) was used for method validation. Platinum levels ranging between 0.03 and 1.42 ng g–1 were determined in the investigated samples. The platinum concentrations observed in human lung tissue may reflect the increasing atmospheric background levels of platinum originating from car catalysts. The presence of platinum in kidney and liver tissue samples clearly indicates the bioavailability of the element. 相似文献
