Reaction of organozinc reagents formed from <Emphasis Type="Italic">α,α</Emphasis>-dibromocarbonyl compounds and zinc with (3-phenylprop-2-enylidene)malonodinitriles and primary amides of 2-Cyano-5-phenylpenta-2,4-dienoic acid

Organozinc compounds formed from 1-aryl-2,2-dibromoalkanes, α,α-dibromopinacoline, and dialkyl dibromomalonates and zinc react with (3-phenylprop-2-enylidene)malonodinitriles and primary amides of 2-cyano-5-phenylpenta-2,4-dienoic acid to form 2-alkyl-2-aroyl-3-(phenylvinyl)cyclopropan-1,1-dicarboxylic acid dinitriles, N-substituted amides of 3-(phenylvinyl)-2-(2,2-dimethylpropanoyl)-1-cyanocyclopropan-1-carboxylic acids, and alkyl 3-R-6-(phenylvinyl)-2,4-dioxo-5-cyano-3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]-hexan-1-carboxylates as a single stereoisomer.

The unique trace property of <Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis>-periodic product of groups

In this paper we prove the unique trace property of C*-algebras of n-periodic products of arbitrary family of groups without involutions. We show that the free Burnside groups B(m, n) and their automorphism groups also possess the unique trace property. Also, we show that every countable group is embedded into some 3-generated group with the unique trace property, while every countable periodic group of bounded period and without involutions is embedded into some 3- generated periodic group G of bounded period with the unique trace property. Moreover, as a group G can be chosen both simple and not simple group.     

Improvement of the technique of identification of electrons and positrons with use of electromagnetic calorimeter of the CLAS detector

We study the dependence of the sensitivity of response of the electromagnetic calorimeter of CLAS plant on the momenta of electrons and positrons. We made calculation of this dependence and elaborated a method for its employment in identification of e⁻ and e⁺. We have shown that the new method of selection of e⁻ and e⁺ improves the quality of identification by about 10%. We used the experimental data obtained with the plant CLAS of linear accelerator at Jefferson laboratory (USA).     

On series by Haar system

The paper considers the series by Haar system \(\sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {a_n \chi _n (x)} \), satisfying the conditions \(\sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {a_n^2 \chi _n^2 (x)} = \infty \) and a _n χ _n (x) → 0 almost everywhere. Some theorems about correcting a function on sets of arbitrarily small measures are proved.     

Measurement of the charged pion electromagnetic form factor

Separated longitudinal and transverse structure functions for the reaction 1H(e,e(')pi(+))n were measured in the momentum transfer region Q2 = 0.6--1.6 (GeV/c)(2) at a value of the invariant mass W = 1.95 GeV. New values for the pion charge form factor were extracted from the longitudinal cross section by using a recently developed Regge model. The results indicate that the pion form factor in this region is larger than previously assumed and is consistent with a monopole parametrization fitted to very low Q2 elastic data.     

Observation of an exotic S = +1 baryon in exclusive photoproduction from the deuteron

In an exclusive measurement of the reaction gammad-->K(+)K(-)pn, a narrow peak that can be attributed to an exotic baryon with strangeness S=+1 is seen in the K(+)n invariant mass spectrum. The peak is at 1.542+/-0.005 GeV/c(2) with a measured width of 0.021 GeV/c(2) FWHM, which is largely determined by experimental mass resolution. The statistical significance of the peak is (5.2+/-0.6)sigma. The mass and width of the observed peak are consistent with recent reports of a narrow S=+1 baryon by other experimental groups.
