Chemical Composition of Porous Silicon Formed in Aqueous and Aqueous-Alcoholic Electrolytes, According to the IR Spectroscopy Data

The chemical composition of the surface of porous silicon synthesized on weakly doped silicon of the n type of conductivity (KÉF-20) with the crystallographic orientation (100) (100) in aqueous and aqueous-alcoholic electrolytes with different HF concentrations has been analyzed by IR spectroscopy.     

Promising Oxygen- and Nitrogen-Rich Azidonitramino Ether Plasticizers for Energetic Materials

A simple, mild and general method has been developed for the preparation of alkyl nitramines bearing a halogenoalkoxylic moiety. From these reactive halogen intermediates, a few azidoalkoxyl alkyl nitramines have been produced as energetic plasticizers. This simple protocol allows azidonitramino ether plasticizers to be obtained from available precursors in high yields, as it is safe and viable for large-scale operations. The resulting products have been fully characterized by spectral methods, and their impact sensitivity, thermal transformations and burning properties were determined, thus allowing complete comparison to the analogues including other combinations of structural units. Such characterization of these new plasticizers illustrates the extent to which the nature and position of the functional units can be used to tune the above properties of these nitramines. All azidonitramino ethers are liquid with excellent energetic performance and are promising candidates for new environmentally friendly energetic materials.     

Three-dimensional model of biomatrix as a method of studying blood vessels and nerve growth in tissue engineering structures

The method involves isolating and culturing ex vivo cultures of mouse dorsal root ganglia and abdominal aorta in a three-dimensional gel (Matrigel). Unlike other explant cultures, this technique allows to study the physiological and biochemical processes in the tissue explants of dorsal root ganglia and abdominal aorta in three-dimensional space but in contrast to a two-dimensional adhesive culture. Administration of the tested substances to the Matrigel allows analyzing their effects on the growth of blood vessels and neurites from the explants for 21 days. The developed method can be applied in modern cardiological and neurobiological research and explores how new therapeutic agents can accelerate the regeneration of blood vessels and nerves.

A new approach to synthesis of organic/inorganic nanocomposites

The possibility of preparation of nanocomposite materials with improved physicomechanical properties by polycondensation of spirocyclic silicates and diisocyanates was elucidated. The thermomechanical, spectral, and thermogravimetric properties of the resulting materials were examined.
