Separated Zn 13 cluster entities unexpectedly occur in the solid‐state structure of Mn8Ga27.4Zn13.6 (the central building block is shown). They correspond to centered cuboctahedra, that is, small volumes of face‐centered cubic metal. The intriguing segregation of Ga and Zn atoms in Mn8Ga27.4Zn13.6 was verfied by Rietveld refinement of neutron powder diffraction data.  相似文献

The representation matrices generated by the projected spin functions have some very interesting properties. All the matrix elements are integers and they are quite sparse. A very efficient algorithm is presented for the calculation of these representation matrices based on a graphical approach and a new indexing scheme for representation of primitive spin functions is introduced. The choir singer has two acoustic signals to attend to: the sound of his or her own voice (feedback), and the sound of the rest of the choir (reference). The balance in loudness between feedback and reference is governed mainly by the room acoustics. Although earlier experiments have shown that singers have a fairly large tolerance for imbalance, with references ranging from −23 to +5 dB, experience suggests that, when singers are given control over this parameter, their preferences are much narrower. A quantification of the optimum balance would be useful in the design of concert stages and rehearsal halls. A method is described for measuring the feedback and reference levels as experienced by singers under live performance conditions. Recordings were made using binaural microphones worn by choir singer subjects. With the given combination of choir and room, it was possible to achieve adequate separation of the feedback and reference signals with simple signal processing. The feedback-to-reference ratio averaged over the 12 singers was found to be +3.9 dB, with extremes of +1.5 and +7.3 dB.  相似文献

A primary commodity such as wheat, rice, coffee, oil, etc., is shipped fromm locations where it was grown or pumped ton manufacturers. Each manufacturer processes, packages, advertises, and distributes the commodity under a consumer product brand name. The resulting heterogeneous good is sold at a sealed bid auction, in competition with the other manufacturers of the consumer product, tok final customers. The problem to be considered in this paper is to find a way of determining prices for the goods produced and the physical exchanges between seller and buyer which satisfy flow conditions and which take into account the evaluations of the goods by both sellers and buyers. The first model for doing this is given in section 1, which combines the idea of a sealed bid auction due to Shapley, Shubik and Thompson, with a conventional transportation system. The sealed bid auction is used to determine the exchange prices, and the transportation system is used to calculate the production and transportation costs. It is suggested that the resulting model type can also be applied in a wide range of problems that arise in the marketing of goods sold under brand names (i.e., heterogeneous goods) regardless of whether they are actually exchanged at formal auctions. We show in section 6 that our model is a generalization of the transshipment model in a recent paper by Dubey and Shapley [1]. In their model they considered a number of oligopolists engaged in transshipping and trading goods. Their oligopolists set their prices in order to maximize profits, rather than having them determined by an auction process as is done in our model. In section 7, we extend the model to one in which the wholesalers are permitted to make positive profits. The first results of measurements of the thermal-neutron flux in extensive air showers (EASs) using an unshielded scintillation thermal-neutron detector in the Multicom prototype array at the Baksan Neutrino Observatory of the Institute for Nuclear Research are reported. The operating capacity of the new method for studying the EAS hadron component via detection of thermal neutrons and good prospects of this method are demonstrated.  相似文献

Four volunteer members of the chorus of Opera Australia, representing four different voice categories, wore binaural pairs of wireless microphones during a penultimate dress rehearsal on the Opera Theater stage of the Sydney Opera House. From the recordings, data were obtained on sound levels and on the self-to-other ratios (SORs). The sound levels were comparable to those found in loud music in chamber choir performance. The average SOR ranged from +10 to +15 dB. Compared to chamber choirs in other types of room, the SOR values were high. On a separate occasion, the stage support parameters ST1 (early reflections) and ST2 (late reflections) were measured over the whole stage area. ST1 was about -16 dB, which is typical for opera stages, and -20 dB for ST2, which is unusually low. It is concluded that the SOR in the opera chorus depends mostly on choir formation, which is highly variable, and that an opera chorus artist generally can hear his or her own voice very well, but little of the others and of the orchestra. This was confirmed by informal listening to the recordings.  相似文献
