The angular distribution and the s dependence of the total cross section for the process e+e?μ+μ? have been measured using the JADE detector at PETRA. After radiative corrections, a forward-backward asymmetry of ?(11.8±3.8) % was observed at an average centre of mass energy of 33.5 GeV. For comparison, an asymmetry of ?7.8 % is expected on the basis of the standard Glashow-Salam-Weinberg model.  相似文献

The kinetics of shaping of periodic surface profiles under the action of surface selfdiffusion were calculated for the special case of anisotropic surface energy. The orientation-dependent surface energy was allowed to contain a local minimum of very high curvature (cusp). The orientation of this cusp was equal to the macroscopic orientation of the crystal surface. The periodic surface profiles exhibited in all cases extended, nearly flat regions centered at the cusp orientation. This type of faceting which causes the profile to be trapezoidal in shape agrees well with experimentally observed profiles on (111) and (100) Ni single crystal surfaces. A procedure is outlined by which the orientation-dependent surface energy along a certain azimuth and the surface self-diffusion coefficient can be extracted from the decay kinetics of faceted periodic surface profiles. This procedure demands the accurate experimental assessment of profile shapes and amplitudes.  相似文献

We have observed the production of prompt muons in e+e? annihilation in the centre of mass energy range 33.0 GeV to 35.8 GeV. The rate of such muons with momentum greater than 1.4 GeV was measured to be 0.069 ± 0.024 per multiparticle event. When compared with currently accepted models, this rate is consistent with that expected from charm and bottom decays, but does not support the production also of a top quark of mass less than about 15 GeV.  相似文献

The WEB tool "AnDom" assigns to a given protein sequence all experimentally determined structural domains contained within it, including multidomain and large proteins. The server uses profile specific matrices from custom generated multiple sequence alignments of all known SCOP domains (SCOP version 1.50). Prediction time is short allowing numerous applications for structural genomics including investigation of complex eucaryotic protein families. Organometallic polymers were prepared by acyclic diyne metathesis (ADIMET) or by Pd-catalyzed coupling of 1,3-diethynylcyclobutadiene(cyclopentadienyl)cobalt with a suitably substituted diiodobenzene. The polymers obtained by Heck coupling show a degree of polymerization (Pn) of 20-60. The monomers for ADIMET were made by the Pd-catalyzed coupling of [1,3-bis(trimethylsilylethynyl)-2,4-bis(trimethylsilyl)cyclobutadiene](cyclopentadienyl)cobalt to 1-bromo-2,5-dialkyl-4-propynylbenzenes in the presence of KOH in yields of 40-48%. The monomers carry hexyl, ethylhexyl, and (S)-3,7-dimethyloctyl side chains. Polymerization of the propynylated monomers furnishes organometallic polymers with a Pn of up to 230 arylene-ethynylene units. The polymers were fully characterized by polarizing microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, circular dichroism, differential scanning calorimetry, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). They show nematic, lyotropic liquid crystalline phases as well as chiroptical properties from which aggregation in poor solvents and in the solid state can be concluded. Lamellar or irregular honeycomb-shaped morphologies in these organometallic polymers can be detected by electron microscopy.  相似文献
