Determination of the energy measurement accuracy for charged particles by their range in nuclear photoemulsion

Ranges of monochromatic muons in nuclear photoemulsion, produced in the ?? ?? ??? _?? decay, are measured by the coordinate method to determine their energy by the range. The variance of the muon energymeasured by this method ?? _?? = (0.11±0.01) MeV, which corresponds to the accuracy of the determination of the charged particle energy by the range in nuclear emulsion ??3.1%. The developed technique will allow electron energy measurements in the 2??-decay (??3 MeV)with an accuracy of (5?C6)%.     

Role of reduced flux values in muon radiography

A numerical experiment clearly shows that the use of reduced fluxes makes it possible to eliminate the effect of the shape of the object under study on the estimate of its material density by muon radiography methods.

Bounds for a domain containing all compact invariant sets of the system describing the laser–plasma interaction

In this paper we consider the localization problem of compact invariant sets of the system describing the laser–plasma interaction. We establish that this system has an ellipsoidal localization for simple restrictions imposed on its parameters. Then we improve this localization by applying other localizing functions. In addition, we give sufficient conditions under which the origin is the unique compact invariant set.     

Prospects of the study of geological structures by muon radiography based on emulsion track detectors

For the first time in Russia, researchers of the Lebedev Physical Institute and Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics perform test experiments for studying the internal structure of large natural and industrial objects by the muon radiography method using the emulsion technique. The used technique is based on the high penetrability of cosmic muons and implies the detection of the attenuation of their flux passed through the object under study using nuclear photoemulsions with a uniquely high spatial resolution. The results of the first test experiment are presented, which confirm the promising application of the method when using emulsion track detectors and their subsequent hi-tech automated processing.     

On recovering density in a plane domain from incomplete spectral data

The inverse spectral problem of recovering density in a bounded domain is considered. The first N eigenvalues and traces on the boundary of the normal derivatives of the eigenfunctions of the Dirichlet problem are considered as the input data. Efficient copper(II) acetate-catalyzed N-arylation of carbamate-protected hydrazones was achieved under mild reaction conditions with organobismuthanes.     

Results of the development of the technique for using nuclear photoemulsions in the experiment on the search for double neutrinoless beta decay

The last results on the preparation of the experiment on the search for double neutrinoless decay using emulsion chambers with molybdenum filling are presented. The results of testing emulsions prepared by the OJSC “Slavich Company” are presented. Algorithms for recognizing electron tracks in rectilinear and curvilinear portions are described.
