Two unique adducts of an oxozinc carboxylate cluster with H(2)O and THF were isolated and structurally characterized, [Zn(4)(μ(4)-O)(O(2)CR)(6)(H(2)O)(THF)]·2(THF) and [Zn(4)(μ(4)-O)(O(2)CR')(6)(THF)(3)] (where R = benzoate and R' = 9-antracenecarboxylate anion). The study shows that the zinc centers of the Zn(4)O core can easily form unique coordination environments without breaking of the Zn-O(carboxylate) bonds.  相似文献

A Merck molecular force field classical potential combined with Poisson-Boltzmann electrostatics (MMFF/PB) has been used to estimate the binding free energy of seven guest molecules (six tertiary amines and one primary amine) into a synthetic receptor (acyclic cucurbit[4]uril congener) and two benzimidazoles into cyclic cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) and cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) hosts. In addition, binding enthalpies for the benzimidazoles were calculated with density functional theory (DFT) using the B3LYP functional and a polarizable continuum model (PCM). Although in most cases the MMFF/PB approach returned reasonable agreements with the experiment (±2 kcal/mol), significant, much larger deviations were reported in the case of three host-guest pairs. All four binding enthalpy predictions with the DFT/PCM method suffered 70% or larger deviations from the calorimetry data. Results are discussed in terms of the molecular models used for guest-host complexation and the quality of the intermolecular potentials.  相似文献

Model 3'-azido-3'-deoxynucleosides with thiol or vicinal dithiol substituents at C2' or C5' were synthesized to study reactions postulated to occur during inhibition of ribonucleotide reductases by 2'-azido-2'-deoxynucleotides. Esterification of 5'-(tert-butyldiphenylsilyl)-3'-azido-3'-deoxyadenosine and 3'-azido-3'-deoxythymidine (AZT) with 2,3-S-isopropylidene-2,3-dimercaptopropanoic acid or N-Boc-S-trityl-L-cysteine and deprotection gave 3'-azido-3'-deoxy-2'-O-(2,3-dimercaptopropanoyl or cysteinyl)adenosine and the 3'-azido-3'-deoxy-5'-O-(2,3-dimercaptopropanoyl or cysteinyl)thymidine analogs. Density functional calculations predicted that intramolecular reactions between generated thiyl radicals and an azido group on such model compounds would be exothermic by 33.6-41.2 kcal/mol and have low energy barriers of 10.4-13.5 kcal/mol. Reduction of the azido group occurred to give 3'-amino-3'-deoxythymidine, which was postulated to occur with thiyl radicals generated by treatment of 3'-azido-3'-deoxy-5'-O-(2,3-dimercaptopropanoyl)thymidine with 2,2'-azobis-(2-methyl-2-propionamidine) dihydrochloride. Gamma radiolysis of N(2)O-saturated aqueous solutions of AZT and cysteine produced 3'-amino-3'-deoxythymidine and thymine most likely by both radical and ionic processes.  相似文献

A new method for determination of contributions of species present in low concentration in kinetic Monte Carlo (MC) simulations of chemical processes is proposed. It allows, for instance, to calculate of exact concentrations when species being of interest appear in MC experiments only for short time intervals. The method is based on monitoring of the cumulative life‐time of the investigated species under consideration as a function of the reaction time and subsequent differentiation of the resulting curve. It is especially useful for determination of distributions of low‐concentration active propagation species in radical polymerizations, both free and controlled ones. The method enables to reduce significantly a simulation scale required for determination of the concentrations of investigated species.

 A micro extraction – spectrophotometric procedure is developed for the determination of bismuth in pharmaceutical formulations. The procedure is based on the extraction of tetraiodobismuthate(III) ion paired with benzyltributylammonium cation into chloroform. The application of Nile Blue as internal standard (IS) enabled good analytical performance for micro-scale analysis. The ratio between the absorbances measured at 491 nm (bismuth complex) and at 632 nm (IS) was taken as the analytical signal. The procedure was carried out in Eppendorf tubes, lowering significantly the use of reagents and the volume of organic solvent. In the calibration range up to 60 mgċl−1, the linear regression coefficient was 0.9999, the CV for 15 mgċl−1 and for 50 mgċl−1 Bi were 1.6% and 0.7% respectively. The results obtained in the analysis of pharmaceutical formulations were in good agreement with the results of EDTA titration method. Received November 25, 1999. Revision February 14, 2000.  相似文献

The electrochemical properties and catalytic activity of a Co(II) complex with the optically active Schiff base derived from (1R,2R)-(–)-cyclohexanediamine and salicylaldehyde have been studied in non-aqueous solutions. When dissolved in deoxygenated non-aqueous solutions, the complex exhibits reversible redox properties for the Co(II)/Co(III) couple. Electrochemical reduction of oxygen and oxidation of cobalt(II) was observed on cyclic voltammograms of solutions containing both dioxygen and the Schiff base-cobalt(II) complex. An anodically formed film on a platinum electrode, studied by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, revealed the presence of the oxidized Co(III) species. Cyclic voltammetry of oxygenated solutions examined after a period of time indicates an electrochemical activity of coordinated superoxo/peroxo species in the 0.7–1.1 V potential range. In the presence of 4-methyl-1-cyclohexene the cyclic voltammetry curves reveal changes similar to those caused by the removal of oxygen. The GC-MS technique was used to identify some of the products formed by the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexene and 4-methyl-1-cyclohexene. Electronic Publication  相似文献

The development of effective remedial technologies for the destruction of environmental pollutants requires the ability to clearly monitor degradation processes. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is a powerful tool for understanding reaction progress; however, practical considerations often restrict the application of NMR spectroscopy as a tool to better understand the degradation of environmental pollutants. Chief among these restrictions is the limited access smaller environmental research labs and remediation companies have to suitable NMR facilities. Benchtop NMR spectroscopy is a low-cost and user-friendly approach to acquire much of the same information as conventional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, albeit with reduced sensitivity and resolution. This paper explores the practical application of benchtop NMR spectroscopy to understand the degradation of perfluorooctanoic acid using sodium persulfate, a common reagent for the destruction of groundwater contaminants. It is found that Benchtop 19F NMR spectroscopy is able to monitor the complete degradation of perfluorooctanoic acid into fluoride; however, the observation of intermediate degradation products formed, which can be observed using a conventional NMR spectrometer, cannot be readily distinguished from the parent compound when measurements are performed using the benchtop instrument. Under certain reaction conditions, the formation of fluorinated structures that are resistant to further degradation is readily observed. Overall, it is shown that benchtop 19F NMR spectroscopy has potential as a quick and reliable tool to assist in the development of remedial technologies for the degradation of fluorinated contaminants.  相似文献

Mechanical grinding/milling can be regarded as historically the first technology for changing the properties of matter. Mechanically activated molecular units (mechanophores) can be present in various structures: polymers, macromolecules, or small molecules. However, only polymers have been reported to effectively transduce energy to mechanophores, which induces breakage of covalent bonds. In this paper, a second possibility is presented—molecular capsules as stress-sensitive units. Mechanochemical encapsulation of fullerenes in cystine-based covalent capsules indicates that complexation takes place in the solid state, despite the fact that the capsules do not possess large enough entrance portals. By using a set of solvent-free MALDI (sf-MALDI) and solid-state NMR (ss-NMR) experiments, it has been proven that encapsulation proceeds during milling and in this process hydrazones and disulfides get activated for breakage, exchange, and re-forming. The capsules are porous and therefore prone to collapse under solvent-free conditions and their conformational rigidity promotes the collapse by the breaking of covalent bonds.  相似文献
