A new method for the evalution of neutron scattering data from semicrystalline polymers is proposed for small and intermiediate q [q = (4π/λ)sinθ/2]. It is based on the assumption that, in general, a molecule cryustallizes in various lamellae. Within one lamella the crystalline stems connected by loop or folds from intramolecular “clusters,” which are connected by tie molecules. Without further assumptions the method yields in a straightforward manner the following quantities: (i) the average number of clusters per molecule, from which the number of tie molecules can be estimated; (ii) the radius of gyration <R> of the centers of the stems belonging to one cluster; and (iii) the radius of gyration <R> of the cluster centers with respect to the center of the molecule the method was successfully tested using experimental data obtained from poly(ethylene oxide), polyethylene, and isotactic polypropylene.  相似文献

We investigate the role of turbulent fluctuations on line shape formation in optically thin plasmas. A general expression, valid if the turbulent scales are much larger than the atomic scales, is obtained for the profile measured using a passive spectroscopy set up. Well-known limiting cases for Doppler and Stark broadening are identified. Then, the role of temperature fluctuations on Doppler line shapes, and the effect of density fluctuations on Stark broadened lines in the quasi-static regime are investigated.  相似文献

We present a novel method for the fabrication of one-dimensional (1-D) self-assembled monolayers and multilayers (SAMs) of (12-pyrrol-1-yl-dodecyl)-phosphonic acid (Py-DPA) on various polar surfaces using polyelectrolyte nanostructures as positive templates. Particularly, we demonstrate that (i) patterns of aligned 1-D polycation structures on a poly(dimethylsiloxane) stamp can be prepared by moving a droplet of polycation solution along the surface; (ii) these patterns can be used as templates for the ordered assembly of Py-DPA in water where Py-DPA carries a charge opposite to the charge of the template; and (iii) Py-DPA SAMs can then be transferred onto mica or silicon wafers by a printing process. These nanostructures with a polymerizable pyrrole headgroup might be useful for the creation of electrically conductive patterns of conjugated polymers.  相似文献

We report on the fabrication of micropatterned polymer surfaces that allow the reversible inversion of surface topography, charge, and wettability. Micropatterned surfaces were prepared by grafting two oppositely charged polyelectrolytes (poly(acrylic acid) and poly(2-vinylpyridine)) using a combination of photolithography, "lift off", and "grafting to" techniques. The switchable surfaces are of interest in microprinting and for the design of microfluidic devices and programmed protein adsorption.  相似文献

Two‐component polymer brushes (polystyrene and poly(2‐vinylpyridine)) were synthesized by grafting from the surface of Si‐wafers. The brushes are sensitive to the surrounding medium, and their morphology and composition of the top of a brush can be switched upon exposure to different solvents. Thus surface energetic states and roughness of the film can be precisely tuned.  相似文献

Summary: The present study provides some basic concepts of functionalization of diblock copolymer (BC) nanotemplates for optical applications. It is focused on the polystyrene-block-poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P4VP) building medium which is suitable for hydrogen bonding, undergoes phase segregation, and is well-accessible. Two techniques are described and demonstrated on several dye complexes with PS-b-P4VP. Relation between optical properties and thin film structure is tentatively studied in dependence on solvent effects in thin films.  相似文献
