A simple method based on the thermal oxidation of Si wafers in presence of a mixture of MgO and graphite powder was developed for large-scale synthesis of very long amorphous silica nanowires. The synthesis was done with and without gold as the catalyst. Almost aligned uniform nanowires with diameters within 60-90 nm and length up to few hundred micrometers were obtained using gold as the catalyst while bicycle chain like nanowires were obtained in absence of the catalyst. The growth sequence of the nanowires was observed through scanning electron microscope. Both forms of the nanowires emitted blue lights at 414 nm (3 eV) under excitation at 250 nm.  相似文献

Ten new lanthanum(III) and praseodymium(III) complexes of the general formula Na[La(L)2H2O] (Ln=La(III) or Pr(III); LH2=thiosemicarbazones) derived from the condensation of isatin with 4-phenyl thiosemicarbazide, 4-(4-chlorophenyl) thiosemicarbazide, 4-(2-nitrophenyl) thiosemicarbazide, 4-(2-bromophenyl) thiosemicarbazide and 4-(2-methylphenyl) thiosemicarbazide, have been synthesized in methanol in presence of sodium hydroxide. The XRD spectra of the complexes were monitored to verify complex formation. The complexes have also been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, electronic absorption and fluorescence, infrared, far infrared, 1H and 13C NMR spectral studies. Thermal studies of these complexes have been carried out in the temperature range 25-800 degrees C using TG, DTG and DTA techniques. All these complexes decompose gradually with the formation of Ln2O3 as the end product. The Judd-ofelt intensity parameter, oscillator strength, transition probability, stimulated emission cross section for different transitions of Pr3+ for 4-phenyl thiosemicarbazones have been calculated.  相似文献

Resveratrol (3,5,4′ trihydroxy trans-stilbene) is a plant based phenolic compound. Enzymatic oligomerization of trans-resveratrol using horseradish peroxidase followed by characterization of the oligomer is presented. The oligomerization reaction was monitored using UV-Visible absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies. The oligomer exhibits strong two-photon-induced fluorescence. Computational modeling using spin-density calculations was performed to investigate the most probable reaction sites and the nature of products formed in the oligomerization process.  相似文献

Formation of a nine-membered cyclic ether with E-configurated double bond was observed during construction of 5-9-5 tricycles through RCM of dienes. Ring fusion stereochemistry in the products oxonenes was found to have profound influence on the olefin geometry. cis-anti-cis 5-9-5 tricycle was obtained with Z-configurated olefin while cis-syn-cis 5-9-5 system was obtained with E- as well as Z-configurated double bond with the former predominating.  相似文献

Type II diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder that can lead to serious cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and retinal complications. While several drugs are currently prescribed to treat type II diabetes, their efficacy is limited by mechanism-related side effects (weight gain, hypoglycemia, gastrointestinal distress), inadequate efficacy for use as monotherapy, and the development of tolerance to the agents. Consequently, combination therapies are frequently employed to effectively regulate blood glucose levels. We have focused on the mitochondrial sodium-calcium exchanger (mNCE) as a novel target for diabetes drug discovery. We have proposed that inhibition of the mNCE can be used to regulate calcium flux across the mitochondrial membrane, thereby enhancing mitochondrial oxidative metabolism, which in turn enhances glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) in the pancreatic beta-cell. In this paper, we report the facile synthesis of benzothiazepines and derivatives by S-alkylation using 2-aminobenzhydrols. The syntheses of other bicyclic analogues based on benzothiazepine, benzothiazecine, benzodiazecine, and benzodiazepine templates are also described. These compounds have been evaluated for their inhibition of mNCE activity, and the results from the structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies are discussed.  相似文献
