Polar properties of Langmuir-Blodgett films of copper phthalocyanines

Langmuir-Blodgett films of amphiphilic copper phthalocyanines are obtained. The Stark effect spectra and the spectra of pyro-and photosensitivity of these films are investigated. The following molecular parameters are determined: changes in the polarizability and the dipole moment for individual absorption bands in the Langmuir-Blodgett films and in an isotropic polymer solution. It is shown that the films obtained have photosensitivity due to the charge transfer in the spectral range 600–900 nm. The pyroelectric effect was observed, which indicates that the films have a polar structure.     

The vortex state of an antiferromagnet with uniaxial anisotropy

For the model of an antiferromagnet with easy-axis anisotropy, we have determined the multisoliton state that corresponds to the domain boundary on the surface of which antiferromagnetic vortices of various topological charges are localized. We analyze the pattern of interaction between the vortices. We show that repulsive and attractive forces equivalent to the forces of electrostatic interaction between point charges in a plane act between the vortices with like and unlike topological charges, respectively. However, there is a steady state in this case, since these vortices in the model of a uniaxial antiferromagnet have an infinite effective mass and do not change their relative positions. We give a general solution that describes the vortex structures on the surface of the domain boundary.     

C-acylation of pyrazole and its derivatives byo-chlorobenzenesulfonylisocyanate

Removal of compressor oil microdroplets from water with a carbon fabric

Coalescence of KHA-30 compressor oil microdroplets on a carbon fabric, aimed to remove them from air and water streams used for compressor cooling, was examined.     

Cross-section asymmetry in the photodisintegration of the deuteron by polarized photons

The asymmetry of cross sections for the photodisintegration of the deuteron has been measured in the linearly polarized photon energy range 80–600 MeV at c.m. proton emission angles 75°–150°. The obtained data are not found to be in agreement with theoretical predictions.     

An optical scheme for enhancing the performance of theF 2 (157 nm) laser; A possibleF 2 two-photon femtosecond pulse generator

We have very recently begun to experimentally test a simple scheme for enhancing the efficiency of a pulsedF ₂ laser that our group proposed several years ago. This scheme involves the use of a pulsed nanosecond-time-scale infrared laser to deplete the terminal state of anF ₂ (157 nm) laser in order to enhance its performance. If the scheme should prove to be workable, this would imply that a cw two-photon UV femtosecond pulse generator might be constructed on the basis ofF ₂ transitions.Prof. F.P. Photolysis of compounds with P−I and As−I bonds

Detailed experimental investigations are reported of the parameters of lasing on the transition²P_1/2→²P_3/2, λ = 1.3 μm of atomic iodine upon photodissociation of the molecules (CF₃)₂AsI and (CF₃)₂PI. The light source was an IFP-5000 flash lamp. The experimental data are used to determine the sequence of the basic reactions that accompany the photolysis of the molecules (CF₃)₂AsI and (CF₃)₂PI and to determine the energy parameters of the generated radiation.
