Novel supramolecular coatings that make use of low-molecular weight ditopic monomers with guanine end groups are studied using fluid tapping AFM. These molecules assemble on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) from aqueous solutions to form nanosized banding structures whose sizes can be systematically tuned at the nanoscale by tailoring the molecular structure of the monomers. The nature of the self-assembly in these systems has been studied through a combination of the self-assembly of structural derivatives and molecular modeling. Furthermore, we introduce the concept of using these molecular assemblies as scaffolds to organize functional groups on the surface. As a first demonstration of this concept, scaffold monomers that contain a monomethyl triethyleneglycol branch were used to organize these "functional" units on a HOPG surface. These supramolecular grafted assemblies have been shown to be stable at biologically relevant temperatures and even have the ability to significantly reduce static platelet adhesion.  相似文献

Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) has been exploited in different applications. It is well known that perturbations from various sources can seriously degrade the performance of the methods and techniques. In this paper, we consider the SSA technique based on the perturbation theory and examine its performance in both reconstructing and forecasting noisy series. We also consider the sensitivity of the technique to different window lengths, noise levels and series lengths. To cover a broad application range, various simulated series, from dynamic to chaotic, are used to verify the proposed algorithm. We then evaluate the performance of the technique using two real well-known series, namely, monthly accidental deaths in the USA, and the daily closing prices of several stock market indices. The results are compared with several classical methods namely, Box–Jenkins SARIMA models, the ARAR algorithm, GARCH model and the Holt–Winter algorithm.  相似文献

Chitosan‐carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) full polysaccharide membrane was prepared by cross‐linking of chitosan with CMC dialdehyde and subsequent reductive amination. CMC dialdehyde molecule was prepared by periodate oxidation of CMC and then applied as a cross‐linking agent to form a new membrane network. The properties of oxidized CMC were investigated by various methods such as Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy, 1H NMR spectroscopy, and viscosity test. Then, novel chitosan‐CMC silver nanocomposite was prepared using chitosan‐CMC as a carrier. The structure of the chitosan‐CMC membrane and the silver nanocomposite were confirmed by FT‐IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). TEM images indicate that the chitosan‐CMC nanocomposite comprises silver nanoparticles with diameters in the range of about 5–20 nm. The antibacterial studies of the nanocomposite were also evaluated. The chitosan‐CMC silver nanocomposite demonstrates good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Escherichia coli. A new on-line cloud point extraction (CPE) system coupled to ICP-OES was designed for simultaneous extraction, preconcentration and determination of Cd2+, Co2+, Cr3+, Cu2+, Fe3+ and Mn2+ ions in water samples. This is based on the complexation of the metal ions with 1-(2-thenoyl)-3,3,3-trifluoraceton reagent (TTA) at pH 6.0 in the presence of non-ionic surfactant of Triton X-114. The micellar solution was heated above 60 °C and loaded through a column packed with cotton, which acts as a filter for retaining the analyte-entrapped surfactant-rich phase. Then the surfactant-rich phase was eluted using propanol:0.5 mol L−1 nitric acid solution (75:25, v/v) at a flow rate of 3.0 mL min−1 and directly introduced into the nebulizer of the ICP-OES. Several factors influencing the instrumental conditions and extraction were evaluated and optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the enhancement factors of the proposed method for target ions were between 42 and 97, the detection limits (DLs) were in the range of 0.1-2.2 μg L−1. The relative standard deviations (R.S.D.s) at 100 μg L−1 concentration levels of each ion were found to be less than 4.6%. Also, the calibration graphs were linear in the range of 0.5-100 μg L−1 with the correlation coefficients within the range of 0.9948-0.9994.Finally, the developed method was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of the mentioned metal ions in the tap, well, sea and mineral water samples and satisfactory results were obtained.  相似文献

In this work, the phase behaviour of the binary system of carbon dioxide and the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([emim][Tf2N]) has been studied experimentally. The equipment used for the experiments is the Cailletet set-up, based on visual observations of phase transitions of systems with constant overall composition. Results are reported for carbon dioxide concentrations ranging from 12.3 to 59.3 mol%, and within temperature and pressure ranges of 310–450 K and 0–15 MPa, respectively. The data reveal an extremely high capacity of the selected ionic liquid for dissolving CO2 gas, for example, reaching up to about 60 mol% within the above-mentioned pressure and temperature range. Also, the solubility of CO2 in the ionic liquid [emim][Tf2N] is compared to the solubility of CO2 in the ionic liquid [emim][PF6], an ionic liquid that shares the same cation.  相似文献

Electrophoretically mediated microanalysis (EMMA) was applied for the study of the kinetic parameters of the enzymatic reaction of phenol sulfotransferase SULT1A1 isoenzyme with 4-nitrophenol as a substrate. The SULT1A1 activity was determined by the quantitation of the product, 4-nitrophenyl sulfate, at 274 nm by using different injection and separation steps. This new approach solved the problem of the presence of the very strong inhibitor, adenosine 3',5'-bisphosphate (PAP), in the co-substrate solution (adenosine 3'-phosphate 5'-phosphosulfate, PAPS) which is unstable at room temperature. The inhibitor PAP was electrophoretically separated from the co-substrate PAPS before the injection of enzyme and substrate inside the capillary (and thus before their in-capillary encountering). With the developed in-capillary SULT1A1 activity assay an average Michaelis constant (Km) for 4-nitrophenol was calculated to be 0.84 microM, a value which is consistent with a previously reported value. Strong substrate inhibition (above a 4-nitrophenol concentration of 2.5 microM) was observed, and this is also in accordance with literature values.  相似文献

A column, solid phase extraction (SPE), preconcentration method was developed for determination of silver by using alumina coated with 1-((5-nitrofuran-2-yl)methylene)thiosemicarbazide and determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The separation/preconcentration conditions for the quantitative recovery were investigated. At pH 2, the maximum sorption capacity of Ag+ was 7.5?mg?g?1. The linearity was maintained in the concentration range of 0.02–11.0?µg?mL?1 in the final solution or 0.14–1.10?×?104?ng?mL?1 in the original solution for silver. The preconcentration factor of 140 and relative standard deviation of ±1.4% was obtained, under optimum conditions. The limit of detection (LOD) was calculated as 0.112?ng?mL?1, based on 3σbl/m (n?=?8) in the original solutions. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination trace amounts of silver in the environmental samples such as tea, rice and wheat flour, mint, and real water samples.  相似文献

A method to calculate an optimum Erbium distribution to enhance the gain efficiency in EDFA is proposed. This method calculates Erbium distribution based on optical pump envelop, pump power and optical properties of Erbium ion. The intensity-based Erbium distribution is obtained for single-mode fiber and dispersion-shifted fiber types EDFA for pump power from 10 to 40 mW. All of the profiles have a Gaussian-like shape. For single-mode fiber type EDFA, high gain enhancement is obtained in a relatively short optimal length of fiber. Optimal length of EDFA, using intensity-based Erbium distribution, is increased by a factor of 1.5–3 with respect to the one using stepwise. This optimal length increasing factor is considerably smaller than that of the EDFA, using the one-fourth confinement Erbium profile.  相似文献
