Pulsed cathodoluminescence (PCL) of Y2O3 and Sc2O3 powders, as well as of ceramic samples of binary (11 mol % Sc2O3–ZrO2 and 10 mol % Y2O3–ZrO2) and ternary (xSc2O3–(10–x)Y2O3–ZrO2) (x = 5, 6, 7, 8 mol %) solid solutions are studied in the range of 300–850 nm at room temperature. In Y2O3 and Sc2O3, series of strong narrow luminescence bands emitted by surface bound radicals ...0...0>-Y=O and ...0...0>-Sc=O are found. The PCL spectra of xSc2O3–(10–x)Y2O3–ZrO2 ceramic samples showed the same series of narrow bands at 543, 551, 555, 572, 583, 594, 614, and 639 nm as the yttrium oxide spectra. The existence of these luminescence bands, which correspond to the emission of the ...0...0>-Y=O radical, and the absence of the emission lines of the ...0...0>-Sc=O radical indicate that yttrium ions, due to their larger radius, are the first that are displaced to the surface of crystallites in these systems, which is accompanied by the formation of the second phase in subsurface layers.  相似文献

The features of interannual variations of ozone in the middle stratosphere over Moscow in cold half-years since 1995 to 2015 are considered. These features are most pronounced in two separated groups of winters (six winters in each group) in December–January. It appeared that the seasonal variation of ozone averaged within each group is characterized by a higher ozone concentration \({C_{{O_3}}}\) in group I (in comparison with group II) in December and lower values in January. The differences in the seasonal variation of ozone between these groups at the level of 10 mbar in December and January exceed 2 ppm. A feature of the stratosphere circulation for half-year group I is the existence of a stable polar vortex and the absence of strong midwinter perturbations and sudden stratospheric warmings. On the contrary, for cold half-years of group II, the appearance of strong stratospheric warmings in January–February is in common. The results presented provide a quantitative estimate of the effect of these stratospheric warmings on ozone of the middle stratosphere overMoscow.  相似文献

A method for calculating the Gibbs energy of nonspecific solvation of nonelectrolytes was suggested. The new equation for the Gibbs energy of nonspecific solvation contains one solvent parameter that characterize nonspecific solvent-solute interactions and two experimental Gibbs energies of solvation in two standard solvents. The method is applicable to a wide range of solutes and solvents. It was successfully used to describe some 800 Gibbs energies of solvation for systems without specific solvent-solute interactions.  相似文献

The role of zinc, an essential element for normal brain function, in the pathology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is poorly understood. On one hand, physiological and genetic evidence from transgenic mouse models supports its pathogenic role in promoting the deposition of the amyloid beta-protein (Abeta) in senile plaques. On the other hand, levels of extracellular ("free") zinc in the brain, as inferred by the levels of zinc in cerebrospinal fluid, were found to be too low for inducing Abeta aggregation. Remarkably, the release of transient high local concentrations of zinc during rapid synaptic events was reported. The role of such free zinc pulses in promoting Abeta aggregation has never been established. Using a range of time-resolved structural and spectroscopic techniques, we found that zinc, when introduced in millisecond pulses of micromolar concentrations, immediately interacts with Abeta 1-40 and promotes its aggregation. These interactions specifically stabilize non-fibrillar pathogenic related aggregate forms and prevent the formation of Abeta fibrils (more benign species) presumably by interfering with the self-assembly process of Abeta. These in vitro results strongly suggest a significant role for zinc pulses in Abeta pathology. We further propose that by interfering with Abeta self-assembly, which leads to insoluble, non-pathological fibrillar forms, zinc stabilizes transient, harmful amyloid forms. This report argues that zinc represents a class of molecular pathogens that effectively perturb the self-assembly of benign Abeta fibrils, and stabilize harmful non-fibrillar forms.  相似文献

For a series of diphosphonium salts containing two positively charged covalently bonded phosphorus atoms, X/sub> n Y3-n P+P+X n Y3-n (X = alkyl substituent, Y = amino group, n = 0-3), the stability, reactivity, and P-P bond strength were evaluated by various physicochemical methods. The P-P bond energy is appreciably influenced by both steric factors and donor properties of the substituents. The calculations confirmed that transformations of diphosphonium salts can involve cleavage of both P-P and P-N (or P-C) bonds.  相似文献

The results of a comparative study of the oxidation of bilirubin, ascorbic acid, and their mixture in aqueous solutions under the action of air oxygen and hydrogen peroxide are presented. The observed and true rate constants for the oxidation reactions were determined. It was shown that the oxidation of tetrapyrrole pigment occurred under these conditions bypassing the stage of biliverdin formation to monopyrrole products. Simultaneous oxidation of bilirubin and ascorbic acid was shown to be accompanied by the inhibition of ascorbic acid oxidation by bilirubin, whereas ascorbic acid itself activated the oxidation of bilirubin.  相似文献
