In this study a framework consisting of a computational fluid dynamics simulation coupled to a population balance model for the modeling of emulsion polymerizations is proposed. The combined approach is used to understand the impact of changing length and time scales, as well as mixing conditions on the particle size distribution (PSD) of a polymer latex under different conditions. It is shown that the effect of agitation rate can have a profound impact on the distribution of ionic species in the reactor, and thus on the evolution of the PSD.

Sunitinib malate, as an anticancer compound and a multi-targeted tyrosine-kinase inhibitor for treatment of glioma, was comprehensively studied by using different liquid chromatography methods. Since sunitinib malate shows Z-E isomerism, various reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) programs were designed to access quantitative determination and good separation of Z-E stereoisomers. Moreover, some impurities including N-oxide and impurity B were to be separated from the main isomer with acceptable resolution. In the present work, different RP-HPLC programs were developed in which the type of mobile phase, flow rate, pH, and temperature were optimized to reach the best analysis conditions and control the rate of Z to E conversion. In addition, the effect of some operational parameters during the solution preparation including initial concentration of the analyte, temperature, pH, and type of solvent on the stability of Z isomer were investigated. The opted conditions for quantitative analysis were C8-Hector column as stationary phase, methanol as solvent, ammonium acetate buffer containing triethylamine as mobile phase, the pH of mobile phase of 8.5, the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, and detection at 425 nm. In this situation the peaks of E and Z isomers were at 16.3 and 19.7 min. Full validation of the designed method was done based on ICH guidelines.  相似文献

High oxygen reduction (ORR) activity has been for many years considered as the key to many energy applications. Herein, by combining theory and experiment we prepare Pt nanoparticles with optimal size for the efficient ORR in proton‐exchange‐membrane fuel cells. Optimal nanoparticle sizes are predicted near 1, 2, and 3 nm by computational screening. To corroborate our computational results, we have addressed the challenge of approximately 1 nm sized Pt nanoparticle synthesis with a metal–organic framework (MOF) template approach. The electrocatalyst was characterized by HR‐TEM, XPS, and its ORR activity was measured using a rotating disk electrode setup. The observed mass activities (0.87±0.14 A mgPt?1) are close to the computational prediction (0.99 A mgPt?1). We report the highest to date mass activity among pure Pt catalysts for the ORR within similar size range. The specific and mass activities are twice as high as the Tanaka commercial Pt/C catalysis.  相似文献

N,N-Di-R-N′-(4-chlorobenzoyl)thiourea (Di-R: diethyl, di-n-propyl, di-n-butyl and diphenyl) ligands (HL1–4) and their Pt(II) complexes (cis-[Pt(L1–4-S,O)2]) have been synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. HL2 ligand and cis-[Pt(L4-S,O)2] metal complex have been also characterized by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. HL2, C14H19ClN2OS, crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n (no. 14), with Z = 4, and unit cell parameters, a = 11.1405(16) Å, b = 9.7015(12) Å, c = 14.790(2) Å, β = 106.547(7)°. The cis-[Pt(L4-S,O)2], C40H28Cl2N4O2PtS2: triclinic, space group P-1 (no. 2), a = 8.9919(3) Å, b = 14.7159(6) Å, c = 15.7954(6) Å, α = 113.9317(18)°, β = 97.4490(18)°, and γ = 105.0492(16)°. Single crystal analysis of complex, cis-[Pt(L1–4-S,O)2], revealed that a square planar coordination geometry is formed around the platinum atom by two sulfur and two oxygen atoms of the related ligands, which are in a cis configuration. In addition, the thiourea derivative ligands and their complexes were evaluated for both their in-vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity. The results have been reported, explained, and compared with fluconazole and ampicillin, used as reference drugs.  相似文献

Small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) fusion technology is widely used in the production of heterologous proteins from prokaryotic system to aid in protein solubilization and refolding. Due to an extensive clinical application of human bone morphogenetic protein 2 (hBMP2) in bone augmentation, total RNA was isolated from human gingival tissue and mature gene was amplified through RT-PCR, cloned (pET21a), sequence analyzed, and submitted to GenBank (Accession no. KF250425). To obtain soluble expression, SUMO3 was tagged at the N-terminus of hBMP2 gene (pET21a/SUMO3-hBMP2), transferred in BL21 codon+, and ~?40% soluble expression was obtained on induction with IPTG. The dimerized hBMP2 was confirmed with Western blot, native PAGE analysis, and purified by fast protein liquid chromatography with 0.5 M NaCl elution. The cleavage of SUMO3 tag from hBMP2 converted it to an insoluble form. Computational 3D structural analysis of the SUMO3-hBMP2 was performed and optimized by molecular dynamic simulation. Protein-protein interaction of SUMO3-hBMP2 with BMP2 receptor was carried out using HADDOCK and inferred stable interaction. The alkaline phosphatase assay of SUMO3-hBMP2 on C2C12 cells showed maximum 200-ng/ml dose-dependent activity. We conclude that SUMO3-tagged hBMP2 is more suited for generation of soluble form of the protein and addition of SUMO3 tag does not affect the functional activity of hBMP2.  相似文献

We study the integrability aspects of an N=1 supersymmetric coupled dispersionless (SUSY-CD) integrable system in detail. We present a superfield Lax representation of the SUSY-CD system by writing its (3×3)-matrix superfield Lax pair and show that the zero-curvature condition corresponds to the SUSY-CD system. From the fermionic superfield Lax representation, we obtain a set of coupled superfield Riccati equations that we further use to obtain an infinite set of superfield conserved currents. We investigate the Darboux transformation of the SUSY-CD system and use it to obtain multisoliton solutions of the system.  相似文献

We report a low-threshold continuous-wave Tm:YAG laser that can be excited near 785?nm with low-cost, single-mode AlGaAs laser diodes. Low-threshold operation was achieved using a tightly focused, astigmatically compensated x-cavity containing a 2-mm-thick Tm:YAG crystal with 5?% Tm3+ concentration. Two linearly polarized single-mode diodes operating at 785.8?nm were polarization coupled to end pump the resonator. With a 6?% output coupler, as high as 32?mW of output power could be obtained at 2016?nm with 184?mW of incident pump power. The output could be further tuned in the 1935?C2035?nm range. Slope efficiency measurements indicated that cross-relaxation was very effective at this doping level. With a 2?% output coupler, lasing could be obtained with as low as 32.3?mW of pump power. In the limit of vanishing output coupling, the incident threshold pump power could be reduced to as low as 25?mW. To our knowledge, this is among the lowest lasing thresholds reported to date for continuous-wave, room-temperature thulium lasers.  相似文献

In this paper we have considered a red-shift based linear correction in derivative of action in the context of vacuum f (R) gravity. Here we have found out that the linear correction may describe the late time acceleration which is appeared by SuperNovae Ia with no need of dark energy. Also we have calculated the asymptotic action for the desired correction. The value of all solutions may reduce to de’ Sitter universe in the absence of correction term.  相似文献
