Polarization of neutrons from the d-t reaction and in n-p scattering

The polarization of 32 MeV neutrons from the d-t reaction has been measured using n-He scattering at an angle of 130° (lab). A He gas scintillator was used as a scatterer, and the scattered neutrons were measured by counting the He recoils which were coincident with pulses from the side detector and which were synchronized with the deuteron beam bunch. Polarizations in n-p scattering have been measured using the polarized neutrons at angles of 30°, 40° and 50° (lab).     

Numerical Simulation of Aerodynamic Characteristics of Two Rectangular Cylinders in Side-by-side Arrangement

We present numerical results of flows around two rectangular cylinders in side-by-side arrangement by three-dimensional computations. The two rectangular cylinders are arranged with various distances between the cylinders. The three-dimensional flow structures around two rectangular cylinders denote significant features depending on the distance between the cylinders. In our computations, the Reynolds number Re is set as 10,000, and both the aspect ratio of section of two rectangular cylinders and the distance between the cylinders are considered as parameters to calculate the flow around two rectangular cylinders. The obtained numerical results are also compared with experimental data.     

The Riemann–Roch theorem without denominators in motivic homotopy theory

The Riemann–Roch theorem without denominators for the Chern class maps on higher algebraic K-groups with values in motivic cohomology groups in the context of motivic homotopy theory is proved.     

On the almost-periodic solution of Hasegawa–Wakatani equations

In order to describe the resistive drift wave turbulence appearing in nuclear fusion plasma, the Hasegawa–Wakatani equations were proposed in 1983. In this paper, we consider the zero-resistivity limit for the Hasegawa–Wakatani equations in a cylindrical domain when the initial data are Stepanov-almost-periodic in the axial direction. We prove two results: one is the existence and uniqueness of a strong global in time Stepanov-almost-periodic solution to the initial boundary value problem for the Hasegawa–Mima-like equation; another is the convergence of the solution of the Hasegawa–Wakatani equations to that of the Hasegawa–Mima-like equation established at the first stage as the resistivity tends to zero. In order to obtain a priori estimates of the Stepanov-almost-periodic solutions to our problems, we have to overcome some difficulties. In the proof, we prepare some lemmas for the Stepanov-almost-periodic functions and then obtain a priori estimates.
