In this work, we attempt to derive a fracture criterion for filled and unfilled elastomer vulcanizates and thermoplastics from a set of experimental data. Firstly, fracture criteria reported in the literature have been applied to experimental data obtained from tests including various loading modes (simple tension, equal biaxial tension and biaxial tension) and performed on four materials: a natural rubber (NR), a styrene butadiene rubber (SBR), a polyurethane (PU) and a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).

Then, a new failure criterion based on an equivalent elongation concept is proposed. This equivalent elongation seems to be linearly dependent on a given biaxiality ratio n=(ln(λ2b)/ln(λ1b)), which leads to expressing the principal elongations at break as functions of both the biaxiality n and two experimental parameters. Quite good agreement is highlighted when comparing the failure experimental data with the proposed criterion for the tested elastomers.  相似文献

Spray cooling of heated surfaces is common in many industrial applications, notably steelmaking, because of its high heat dissipating ability. Control of the surface heat flux rate contributes to better products; it is shown that the heat transfer rate depends on the mass fraction of liquid. Quantitative information regarding the parameters affecting spray cooling is relatively scarce. The rate of heat transfer from a plate due to impinging of an array of water jets was investigated numerically through the solution of heat conduction equation. The simulation is carried out for eight different sprayers, in the range of ejected fluid pressure between 1 bar and 3 bars. Experimental data are used to study the influence of the function g(x, y), of dispersed water, on heat transfer variations across the surface at the temperature of 600°C. Curves were generated showing time histories of the steel temperature for the removal of high heat fluxes of the order of 300 W/cm2. News reports in media contain news about society’s social and political conditions. With the help of publicly available digital datasets of events, it is possible to study a complex network of mass violations, i.e., Mass Killings. Multiple approaches have been applied to bring essential insights into the events and involved actors. Power law distribution behavior finds in the tail of actor mention, co-actor mention, and actor degree tells us about the dominant behavior of influential actors that grows their network with time. The United States, France, Israel, and a few other countries have been identified as major players in the propagation of Mass Killing throughout the past 20 years. It is demonstrated that targeting the removal of influential actors may stop the spreading of such conflicting events and help policymakers and organizations. This paper aims to identify and formulate the conflicts with the actor’s perspective at a global level for a period of time. This process is a generalization to be applied to any level of news, i.e., it is not restricted to only the global level.  相似文献

As a part of the food analysis program executed at Es-Salam research reactor by neutron activation analysis laboratory, the concentration of As, Ba, Br, Ca, Fe, K, La, Rb and Zn in baby formulas milk have been determined by using INAA and k 0-NAA techniques. It was found that the concentration of all elements obtained by both techniques was relatively identical for the three brands of the 0–6 and 6–12 months of analyzed samples. To date, xylanases have expanded their use in many processing industries, such as pulp, paper, food, and textile. This study aimed the production and partial characterization of a thermostable xylanase from a novel thermophilic anaerobic bacterium Caldicoprobacter algeriensis strain TH7C1T isolated from a northeast hot spring in Algeria. The obtained results showed that C. algeriensis xylanase seems not to be correlated with the biomass growth profile whereas the maximum enzyme production (140.0 U/ml) was recorded in stationary phase (18 h). The temperature and pH for optimal activities were 70 °C and 11.0, respectively. The enzyme was found to be stable at 50, 60, 70, and 80 °C, with a half-life of 10, 9, 8, and 4 h, respectively. Influence of metal ions on enzyme activity revealed that Ca+2 enhances greatly the relative activity to 151.3 %; whereas Hg2+ inhibited significantly the enzyme. At the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the production of xylanase by the thermophilic bacterium C. algeriensis. This thermo- and alkaline-tolerant xylanase could be used in pulp bleaching process.  相似文献

A large scale experiment has been carried out on an experimental facility to study the mass transfer of trichloroethylene (TCE) in a partially saturated porous medium. 5 liters of TCE have been infiltrated in the vadose zone of the site. The mass transfer of TCE from the vapor plume in the unsaturated zone towards the top of groundwater was quantified based on an analytical and a numerical approach. The mass of the pollutant measured at the exit of the model is well represented by the two mathematical approaches. It is found that the transfer of TCE towards the groundwater from the vapor plume is weak, which corresponds to 285 g of TCE, approximately 4% of the initial mass.
