The promiscuous aldo–ketoreductase (AKR) enzyme is used as a sustainable biocatalyst for the first time to catalyze asymmetric aldol reactions in aqueous medium. The reactions between aromatic aldehydes and cyclic/acyclic ketones give the corresponding products in moderate yields and enantioselectivities in the presence of water. The influence of solvents, the mole ratio of substrates, and enzyme concentration are investigated. The mechanism of the AKR1A1-catalyzed aldol reaction is also discussed.  相似文献

The polymerization of a cyclic butylene terephthalate (CBT) oligomer was studied as a function of temperature (T=200 and 260°C, respectively) by modulated DSC (MDSC). The first heating was followed by cooling after various holding times (5, 15 and 30 min) prior to the second heating which ended always at T=260°C. This allowed us to study the crystallization and melting behavior of the resulting polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), as well. In contrary to the usual belief, the CBT polymerization is exothermic and the related process is superimposed to that of the CBT melting. The melting behavior of the PBT was affected by the polymerization mode (performed below or above the melting temperature of the PBT product) of the CBT. Annealing above the melting temperature of PBT yielded a product featuring double melting. This was attributed to the presence of crystallites with different degrees of perfection. The crystals perfection which occurred via recrystallization/remelting was manifested by a pronounced exothermic peak in the non-reversing trace.  相似文献

Aqueous colloidal manganese dioxide (MnO2) was prepared via titration by using potassium permanganate and sodium thiosulphate in aqueous neutral medium. The kinetics of oxidation of d-glucose onto the surface of colloidal MnO2 have been studied spectrophotometrically. The results show that the rate of initial stage (nonautocatalytic path) increases with increasing the [d-glucose], [H+], and temperature and also upon addition of nonionic surfactant Triton X-100 (TX-100), which indicates that the surfactant enhances the concentration of d-glucose at the surface of the colloidal MnO2. Hydrogen bonding interaction seemingly arises between –OH groups of d-glucose and oxygen of the ether linkages of polyoxyethylene chain of TX-100. A possible mechanism of the oxidative degradation of d-glucose is discussed in terms of d-glucose/TX-100 and colloidal MnO2 interaction.  相似文献

Two novel dinuclear organotin(IV) complexes [n-Bu2Sn(imda)(H2O)]2·Bipy (1) and [n-Bu2Sn(imda)(H2O)]2·Phen (2) [H2imda = iminodiacetic acid, Bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine and Phen = 1,10-phenanthroline] were synthesised and characterized employing IR, 1H, 13C, 119Sn NMR, and 119Sn Mössbauer spectroscopic and elemental analyses. Single crystal X-ray crystallography of 1 has confirmed that it is a binuclear Sn(IV) species formed via carboxylate bridges where each metal adopted a seven coordinate distorted pentagonal bipyramidal geometry. The iminodiacetate dianion (imda2−) acts as a potential tridentate [N,O,O] carboxylate bridging ligand. The packing revealed that the additional α-diimine (Bipy or Phen) does not coordinate to metal ion. However, its presence in the crystal lattice as spacer helps for the formation of a supramolecular framework by bringing the two binuclear species close enough through extensive H-bonding. The in vitro cytotoxicity of compounds 1 and 2 indicate better results than cisplatin against three tumor cell lines investigated.  相似文献

A liquid‐phase microextraction coupled with LC method has been developed for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides (methidation, quinalphos and profenofos) in drinking water samples. In this method, a small amount (3 μL) of isooctane as the acceptor phase was introduced continually to fill‐up the channel of a 1.5 cm polypropylene hollow fiber using a microsyringe while the hollow fiber was immersed in an aqueous donor solution. A portion of the acceptor phase (ca. 0.4 μL) was first introduced into the hollow fiber and additional amounts (ca. 0.2 μL) of the acceptor phase were introduced to replenish at intervals of 3 min until set end of extraction (40 min). After extraction, the acceptor phase was withdrawn and transferred into a 2 mL vial for a drying step prior to injection into a LC system. Parameters that affect the extraction efficiency were studied including the organic solvent, length of fiber, volume of acceptor and donor phase, stirring rate, extraction time, and effect of salting out. The proposed method provided good enrichment factors of up to 189.50, with RSD ranging from 0.10 to 0.29%, analyte recoveries of over 79.80% and good linearity ranging from 10.0 to 1.25 mg/L. The LOD ranged from 2.86 to 82.66 μg/L. This method was applied successfully to the determination of organophosphorus pesticides in selected drinking water samples.  相似文献

In this study, an artificial neural network (ANN) trained by backpropagation algorithm, Levenberg–Marquadart, was applied to predict the yield of enzymatic synthesis of dioctyl adipate. Immobilized Candida antarctica lipase B was used as a biocatalyst for the reaction. Temperature, time, amount of enzyme, and substrate molar ratio were the four input variables. After evaluating various ANN configurations, the best network was composed of seven hidden nodes using a hyperbolic tangent sigmoid transfer function. The correlation coefficient (R 2) and mean absolute error (MAE) values between the actual and predicted responses were determined as 0.9998 and 0.0966 for training set and 0.9241 and 1.9439 for validating dataset. A simulation test with a testing dataset showed that the MAE was low and R 2 was close to 1. These results imply the good generalization of the developed model and its capability to predict the reaction yield. Comparison of the performance of radial basis network with the developed models showed that radial basis function was more accurate but its performance was poor when tested with unseen data. In further part of the study, the feedforward backpropagation model was used for prediction of the ester yield within the given range of the main parameters.  相似文献

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) selectivity and specificity can be improved by binding the photosensitizers to target receptors. One approach is to cross-link porphyrins to a biological target receptor via the photocleavable o-nitrobenzyl linker, where a controlled released of the porphyrin can be monitored upon irradiation. The synthetic pathways involved esterification of a porphyrin-carboxylic acid and a unit containing the o-nitrobenzyl alcohol moiety and the bioconjugate. Reactions of a model porphyrin and o-nitrobenzyl alcohol using the carbonyl activating carbodiimide reagent DCC gave a stable N-acyl urea porphyrin, whereas use of EDAC (1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethyl aminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride) gave the desired compounds. Further studies were carried out on the attachment of carbohydrates (i.e., potentially receptor binding ligands) through such a linker to porphyrins. Preliminary irradiation experiments of such a compound show that upon UV irradiation (350 nm) for 80 min, approximately 50% of the porphyrin was cleaved to release the carboxylic acid porphyrin photosensitizer indicating the utility of such systems as photosensitizers delivery systems.  相似文献

Abstract

Wound healing is a complex process and it involves restoration of damaged skin tissues. Several wound dressings comprising naturally made substances are constantly investigated to assist wound healing. In this research, a new wound dressing based on polyurethane (PU) supplemented with essence of Channa striatus (CS) fish oil was made by electrospinning. Morphological study depicted the reduction in fiber diameter than PU with the addition of fish oil (0.552?±?0.109?μm for 8:1 v/v% and 0.519?±?0.196?μm 7:2 v/v%) than the pristine PU (0.971?±?0.205?µm). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis revealed the presence of fish oil in the composite as identified through increasing peak intensity. Fish oil resulted in the hydrophilic behavior (88?±?3 (8:1 v/v) and 70?±?6 (7:2 v/v)) as revealed in the contact angle analysis. Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) showed the superior thermal behavior of the wound dressing patch compared to the PU. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis insinuated a decrease in the surface roughness of the pristine polyurethane with the added fish oil. Coagulation assays signified the delay in the blood clotting time portraying its anti-thrombogenic behavior. Hemolytic assay revealed the less toxic nature of the developed nanocomposites with the red blood cells (RBC’s) depicting its safety with blood. Hence, polyurethane nanofibers supplemented with fish oil made them as deserving candidates for wound dressing application.  相似文献

Abstract

5-fluorouracil (5-FU) refers to a fluorinated pyrimidine analogue that has been widely used as an anticancer agent for colon, head, and neck cancers. Detection of 5-FU and its metabolites; 5-fluorouridine and 5-fluoro-2-deoxyuridine in biological samples allows optimization of pharmacotherapy and encourages fundamental investigations of this medication. The development of accurate and reliable sample preparation, as well as analytical methods, is critical to isolate targeted analytes from complex matrices, apart from increasing detection sensitivity of analytes. With that, this paper presents a review of prior studies pertaining to chromatographic and electrophoretic methods that focused on the analysis of 5-FU and its metabolites in biological matrices such as plasma and urine. This paper concentrates on HPLC, GC and CE systems, which are the most commonly used strategies for analytical separation of 5-FU and its metabolites from samples. Detection of these antineoplastic agents at trace level demands highly sensitive and selective analytical methodologies. Application of these analytical techniques to biological matrices is reviewed with a focus on method development strategies, including types of mobile phases and background electrolytes employed in LC and CE systems.  相似文献

Mixed micellization of dimeric cationic surfactants tetramethylene-1,4-bis(hexadecyldimethylammonium bromide)(16-4-16), hexamethylene-1,6-bis(hexadecyldimethylammonium bromide) (16-6-16) with monomeric cationic surfactants hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), cetylpyridinium bromide (CPB), cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), and tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTAB) have been studied by conductivity and steady-state fluorescence quenching techniques. The behavior of mixed systems, their compositions, and activities of the components have been analyzed in the light of Rubingh's regular solution theory. The results indicate synergism in the binary mixtures. Ideal and experimental critical micelle concentrations (i.e., cmc(*) and cmc) show nonideality, which is confirmed by beta values and activity coefficients. The micelle aggregation numbers (N(agg)), evaluated using steady-state fluorescence quenching at a total concentration of 2 mM for CTAB/16-4-16 or 16-6-16 and 5 mM for TTAB/16-4-16 or 16-6-16 systems, indicate that the contribution of conventional surfactants was always more than that of the geminis. The micropolarity, dielectric constant and binding constants (K(sv)) of mixed systems have also been evaluated from the ratios of respective peak intensities (I(1)/I(3) or I(0)/I(1)).  相似文献
