Mitochondria are essential intracellular organelles involved in many cellular processes, especially adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production. Since cancer cells require high ATP levels for proliferation, ATP elimination can be a unique target for cancer growth inhibition. We describe a newly developed mitochondria-targeting nucleopeptide (MNP) that sequesters ATP by self-assembling with ATP inside mitochondria. MNP interacts strongly with ATP through electrostatic and hydrogen bonding interactions. MNP exhibits higher binding affinity for ATP (−637.5 kJ mol−1) than for adenosine diphosphate (ADP) (−578.2 kJ mol−1). To improve anticancer efficacy, the small-sized MNP/ADP complex formed large assemblies with ATP inside cancer cell mitochondria. ATP sequestration and formation of large assemblies of the MNP/ADP–ATP complex inside mitochondria caused physical stress by large structures and metabolic disorders in cancer cells, leading to apoptosis. This work illustrates a facile approach to developing cancer therapeutics that relies on molecular assemblies.Mitochondria-targeting nucleopeptide (MNP) can sequester ATP by self-assembling with ATP. Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptophan) is a hormone that regulates emotions in the central nervous system. However, serotonin in the peripheral system is associated with obesity and fatty liver disease. Because serotonin cannot cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), we focused on identifying new tryptophan hydroxylase type I (TPH1) inhibitors that act only in peripheral tissues for treating obesity and fatty liver disease without affecting the central nervous system. Structural optimization inspired by para-chlorophenylalanine (pCPA) resulted in the identification of a series of oxyphenylalanine and heterocyclic phenylalanine derivatives as TPH1 inhibitors. Among these compounds, compound 18i with an IC50 value of 37 nM was the most active in vitro. Additionally, compound 18i showed good liver microsomal stability and did not significantly inhibit CYP and Herg. Furthermore, this TPH1 inhibitor was able to actively interact with the peripheral system without penetrating the BBB. In this paper, we present the multistage homotopy perturbation method for finding the solution of the chemical kinetics with nonlinear reactions. We develop a general scheme for finding the analytic solution of chemical reaction networks and apply it to motivating chemical examples such as the enzyme kinetics model and the Brusselator model. The study focuses on finding the pulse sequences depicting a rat’s tumor when the size of the field of view was reduced, using coils specifically designed for rats, and obtaining an optimized image of a rat by transforming the parameters, according to each pulse sequence. The manufactured coil is 8-channel phased array coils, and the type is a receive-only coil. The diameter of the coil is 80 mm, and the length is 150 mm. The overlapped distance among each channel was 8 mm, and the lab rats used in the experiment were the commonly used Sprague–Dawley rats. The study used three types of pulse sequences, which are the diffusion weight imaging (DWI), three-dimensional dual echo steady state (3-D DESS), and three-dimensional volumetric interpolated breath-hold (3-D VIBE). Future experiments at the National Ignition Facility will be able to generate diagnosable Rayleigh–Taylor instability growth in the presence of locally generated, high radiation fluxes. This interplay of radiative energy transfer and hydrodynamic instability is relevant to many astrophysical systems, such as core-collapse red supergiant supernovae. Previous simulations of high-energy-density Rayleigh–Taylor instabilities in the presence of a hot environment near a radiative shock demonstrate behavior that differs from that found in non-radiative cases. However, these simulations considered only 1D or single wavelength cases. Here we report simulations of an entire experimental system using the CRASH code. Experiments investigating the physics of interpenetrating, collisionless, ablated plasma flows have become an important area of research in the high-energy-density field. In order to evaluate the feasibility of designing experiments that will generate a collisionless shock mediated by the Weibel instability on the National Ignition Facility (NIF) laser, computer simulations using the Center for Radiative Shock Hydrodynamics (CRASH) radiation-hydrodynamics model have been carried out. This paper reports assessment of whether the experiment can reach the required scale size while maintaining the low interflow collisionality necessary for the collisionless shock to form. Comparison of simulation results with data from Omega experiments shows the ability of the CRASH code to model these ablated systems. The combined results indicate that experiments on the NIF are capable of reaching the regimes necessary for the formation of a collisionless shock in a laboratory experiment. 相似文献

Two new thermally crosslinkable hole‐transporting polymers, X‐PTPA and X‐PCz, were synthesized via Yamamoto coupling reactions. The number‐averaged molecular weights (Mn) of X‐PTPA and X‐PCz were found to be 45,000 and 48,000, respectively, and therewith, polydispersity indices were of 1.8 and 1.7, respectively. Thermally crosslinked X‐PTPA and X‐PCz exhibit excellent solvent resistance and stable optoelectronic properties. The UV–visible maximum absorption peaks of X‐PTPA and X‐PCz in the thin film state are at 389 and 322 nm, respectively. The HOMO levels of X‐PTPA and X‐PCz are estimated to be ?5.27 and ?5.39 eV, respectively. Multilayered devices (ITO/crosslinked X‐PTPA or X‐PCz/SY‐PPV/LiF/Al) were fabricated with SY (SuperYellow) as the emitting layer. The maximum efficiency of the multilayered device with a crosslinked X‐PTPA layer is approximately three times higher than that of the device without a crosslinked X‐PTPA layer and much higher than that of the crosslinked X‐PCz device. This result can be explained by the observations that crosslinked X‐PTPA produces increased electron accumulation within the emitter, SY, and also efficient exciton formation due to improved charge balance. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We fabricated high quality epitaxial Bi0.9Ho0.1FeO3 thin films which exhibited the tetragonally stained structure with a c/a ratio of about 1.04. The Bi0.9Ho0.1FeO3 thin film showed a good ferroelectric property with the high remanent polarization (Pr) of about 80 μC/cm2. The ferromagnetic hysteresis loop with a clear remanent magnetization was shown. The coercive field and the remanent magnetization of the Bi0.9Ho0.1FeO3 film are 6200 Oe and 1.7 emu/g, respectively. A tunable graphene-nanoribbon (GNR)-resonator was investigated via classical molecular dynamics simulations. Resonance frequencies increased with increasing externally applied gate-force and axial-strain, and could be tuned above several hundred GHz. Tunable resonance frequencies achieved from the gate force were higher than those achieved from the axial-strain. The operating frequencies of GNR-resonators without axial-strain or with small axial-strains were most widely tuned by the gate, and almost linearly increased with increasing mean deflection. As the axial strain increased, the tunable ranges of the GNR-resonators were exponentially decreased, although the operating frequencies increased. GNR-resonators without axial-strain could be applied to wide-range-tuners, whereas GNR-resonators with high axial-strain could be applied to high-frequency-fine-tuners. 相似文献

In this paper, dielectric properties of various thick PVP films cured at temperatures between 125° C and 200 °C are investigated. The thicknesses of PVP films are adjusted by varying their concentration in PGMEA solvent from 10 wt% to 2.5 wt%. Through FT-IR, C–V, SEM, and AFM analyses, the optimum curing process temperatures (150 °C for 10 wt% and 7.5 wt% samples, and 175 °C for 5 wt% samples) where PET substrates can be thermally endured are proposed in terms of their low hysteresis voltage in the C–V curve (1–2 V in 10 wt% samples, below 1 V in 7.5 wt% samples, and 0.5 V in 5 wt% samples). 相似文献
