The spin-wave excitations emerging from the chiral helically modulated 120° magnetic order in a langasite Ba?NbFe?Si?O?? enantiopure crystal were investigated by unpolarized and polarized inelastic neutron scattering. A dynamical fingerprint of the chiral ground state is obtained, singularized by (i) spectral weight asymmetries answerable to the structural chirality and (ii) a full chirality of the spin correlations observed over the whole energy spectrum. The intrinsic chiral nature of the spin waves' elementary excitations is shown in the absence of macroscopic time-reversal symmetry breaking.  相似文献

We present an electron spin resonance (ESR) investigation of the acentric Ba(3)NbFe(3)Si(2)O(14), featuring a unique single-domain double-chiral magnetic ground state. Combining simulations of the ESR linewidth anisotropy and the antiferromagnetic-resonance modes allows us to single out the Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya (DM) interaction as the leading magnetic anisotropy term. We demonstrate that the rather minute out-of-plane DM component d(c)=45 mK is responsible for selecting a unique ground state, which endures thermal fluctuations up to astonishingly high temperatures.  相似文献

A careful NMR analysis, especially by 1D TOCSY and 1D ROESY, of a refined saponin fraction allowed us to determine the structure of three saponins from a polar extract of Agave brittoniana Trel. spp. Brachypus leaves. The use of 1D DOSY for the suppression of the solvent signal was useful to obtain the chemical shifts of anomeric signals. A full assignment of the 1H and 13C spectral data for the new saponins, agabrittonosides E–F (1–2) and the well‐known Karatavioside C (3) and their methoxyl derivatives, is reported. The structures were established using a combination of 1D and 2D (1H, 1H‐COSY, TOCSY, ROESY, g‐HSQC, g‐HMBC and g‐HSQC‐TOCSY) NMR techniques and ESI–MS. With the development of nanotechnology, there is a need for methodologies to determine and characterize nanomaterials. Electrophoresis has emerged as a useful tool, which has been employed in various formats (e.g., capillary-zone electrophoresis, gel electrophoresis or isotachophoresis) for the size- or shape-based separation of different types of nanoparticle (NP) (e.g., metallic, semi-metallic or carbon). We have carried out extensive studies on the self-injection problem in barrierless heterojunctions between La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (LCMO) and YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) thin films. The heterojunctions were formed in situ by sequentially growing LCMO and YBCO films on 〈100〉 LaAlO3 (LAO) substrate using a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) system. YBCO micro-bridges with 64 μm width were patterned both on the LAO (control) and LCMO side of the substrate. Critical current, I c, was measured at 77 K on both the control side as well as the LCMO side for different YBCO film thickness. It was observed that while the control side showed a J c of ∼ 2 × 106 A/cm2, the LCMO side showed about half the value for the same thickness (1800 ?). The difference in J c indicates that a certain thickness of YBCO has become ‘effectively’ normal due to self-injection. From the measurement of J c at two different thicknesses (1800 ? and 1500 ?) of YBCO films both on the LAO as well as the LCMO side, the value of self-injection length (at 77 K) was estimated to be ∼ 900 ?. To the authors’ best knowledge, this is the first time that self-injection length has been quantified. A control experiment carried out with LaNiO3 deposited by PLD on YBCO did not show any evidence of self-injection.  相似文献

We present a simple model of transmission across a metallic mesoscopic ring. In one of its arm an electron interacts with a single magnetic impurity via an exchange coupling. We show that entanglement between electron and spin impurity states leads to reduction of Aharonov-Bohm oscillations in the transmission coefficient. The spin-conductance is asymmetric in the flux reversal as opposed to the two-probe electrical conductance which is symmetric. In the same model, in contradiction to the naive expectation of a current magnification effect, we observe enhancement as well as suppression of this effect depending on the system parameters. The limitations of this model to the general notion of dephasing or decoherence in quantum systems are pointed out.  相似文献

A graphite cathode in N,N-dimethylformamide with tetraalkylammonium salts as supporting electrolyte was found to be able to accept reversibly a rather large charge in a way somewhat akin to the formation of anion radicals and ion pairs of polycondensed aromatic hydrocarbons. The charged graphite has certain similarities with an amalgam, it can thus be used as an insoluble chemical reducing agent. The charging of the graphite depends on the size of the cation, in the presence of very large cations the cathode disintegrates. The nature of the charge is discussed on the basis of i-E curves and coulometric results.  相似文献
