The photodetachment spectra of (H2O) n =2?69/? and (NH3) n =41?1100/? have been recorded, and vertical detachment energies (VDEs) were obtained from the spectra. For both systems, the cluster anion VDEs increase smoothly with increasing sizes and most species plot linearly withn ?1/3, extrapolating to a VDE (n=∞) value which is very close to the photoelectric threshold energy for the corresponding condensed phase solvated electron system. The linear extrapolation of this data to the analogous condensed phase property suggests that these cluster anions are gas phase counterparts to solvated electrons, i.e. they are embryonic forms of hydrated and ammoniated electrons which mature with increasing cluster size toward condensed phase solvated electrons.  相似文献

A series of four S-allyl D-thiopyranosides, alpha- and beta-manno and xylo, were oxidized with MCPBA at low temperature to give seven of the eight possible sulfoxides, whose configuration at sulfur was determined either directly by X-ray crystallography or by correlation with closely related structures. For the axial thioglycosides oxidation leads very predominantly to the (R)(S)-diastereomer in the xylo series and exclusively so in the manno series; the configuration at C2 is of little importance in determining the stereoselectivity of oxidation of axial thioglycopyranosides. In the equatorial series the configuration at C2 has a significant effect on the outcome of the reaction as, although both series favored the (S)(S)-sulfoxide, selectivity was significantly higher in the case of the beta-mannoside than of the beta-xyloside. The two alpha-xylo sulfoxides have different conformations of the pyranoside ring with the (R)(S)-isomer adopting the (1)C(4) chair and the (S)(S)-diastereomer the (4)C(1). Each pair of diastereomeric sulfoxides was thermally equilibrated in C(6)D(6) and in CD(3)OD. In the mannose series the kinetic isomers are also thermodynamically preferred. In the xylose series, on the other hand, the nature of the thermodynamic isomer in both the alpha- and beta-anomers is a function of solvent with a switch observed on going from C(6)D(6) to CD(3)OD. The results are rationalized in terms of the exo-anomeric effect, steric shielding provided by H3 and H5 in the axial series, the interaction of the C2-O2 and sulfoxide dipoles, and increased steric interactions on hydrogen bonding of the sulfoxides to CD(3)OD.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of nickel, which is an alloying element in commonly used metallic biomaterials, on the biomaterials mineralization process. An electrochemical method was developed to quantify this metal ion in osteoblast-like cell culture medium (OST) by performing adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (CSV) with dimethylglyoxime (DMG) at a mercury film microelectrode (MFM). The optimized analytical conditions and the square-wave CSV parameters for the analysis are: DMG concentration: 5.00 × 10−4 mol L−1; ammonium chloride buffer: 0.10 mol L−1 (pH 9.2); frequency: 50 Hz, amplitude 20 mV; step: 2 mV; adsorption time: 10 s, deposition potential: −0.70 V and reduction potential: −1.20 V. The limit of detection was 7.70 × 10−9 mol L−1 for an adsorption time of 10 s. The results achieved by CSV using the MFM were compared to those obtained by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) to ensure the reliability of the electrochemical method. The mineralization process was evaluated by biochemical and histochemical assays.  相似文献

Two new isostructural Zintl phases, EuInGe and SrInGe, are obtained from high-temperature reactions of the pure elements in welded Ta tubes. Both ternary phases crystallize in a new structure type in space group Pnma (No. 62), with a = 4.921(1) A, b = 3.9865(9) A, and c = 16.004(3) A for EuInGe; and a = 5.021(1) A, b = 4.0455(9) A, and c = 16.188(4) A for SrInGe. The crystal structures established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction feature zigzag chains of 3-bonded Ge atoms and puckered layers of 4-bonded In atoms. The two structural units are linked into an anionic network with channels composed of 5-membered and 7-membered rings. The channels are filled by the respective divalent cations. The chemical bonding of the anionic [InGe](2)(-) network, derived from a one-electron oxidative distortion of the alpha-ThSi(2) structure, is explained using extended-Hückel band structure calculations. Magnetic measurements indicate that EuInGe exhibits Curie-Weiss paramagnetic behavior above 35 K and antiferromagnetic behavior below 35 K. The calculated effective moment, mu(eff) = 8.11 mu(B), of EuInGe and the diamagnetic behavior of SrInGe are consistent with the oxidation states of Eu(II) and Sr(II), respectively.  相似文献

A series of potential indicator dyes is evaluated for use in the development of optical sensors for measuring sulfur dioxide in gaseous samples. Rhodamine B isothiocyanate is selected on the basis of relative sensitivity to dynamic quenching by sulfur dioxide and oxygen. A solid-state fluorometer is described for monitoring the sulfur dioxide induced fluorescence quenching of sensing membranes composed of silicone and rhodamine B isothiocyanate. A modulated blue LED is coupled with the lock-in detection of a photodiode detector to provide high signal-to-noise ratios. The limit of detection is 0.114+/-0.009% for sulfur dioxide in a carrier stream of nitrogen gas. Selectivity measurements indicate no interference from several common gases (HCl, NH(3), NO, and CO(2)). Oxygen alters the sensor response when comparing signals for sulfur dioxide in 0, 20 and 100% oxygen environments.  相似文献

This is a thermodynamic analysis of the Province of Ravenna (Italy) and its districts (Ravenna, Faenza and Lugo) and an evaluation of entropy waste production based on a balance sheet of greenhouse gases. The method used is energy analysis. The results show that the Province and Ravenna are characterized by a heavy exploitation of local non renewable resources, Faenza strikes a good balance between economic development and environment conservation and Lugo is less sustainable than the others. The greenhouse gas balance shows that the Province emits 10.5 times the quantity of greenhouse gases that it adsorbs and that the emissions reduction is required in the energy sector, which is responsible for 92% of the total.  相似文献

The fragmentation of sulphur clusters caused by electron impact ionization was studied. For this purpose, a beam ofS n -clusters withn≦8 was generated in a gas aggregation source and ionized by electrons of variable energy. Special care was taken to maintain constant nucleation conditions so that the neutral cluster composition remained unchanged. It was found that the cluster ion mass spectra drastically depend on the electron energy. Even near threshold fragmentation processes contribute significantly to the dependence of the ion intensities on the electron energy.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] Several (77)Se NMR experiments were performed by titrating a sample of selenides with the chiral shift reagent methylbenzylamine (MBA), followed by acquisition of (77)Se NMR spectra. Eventually, we observed the appearance of two anisochronous resonances, with a relatively large separation, from 37 to 56 Hz, corresponding to the formation of the diastereomeric complexes. This methodology avoids derivatization processes, and the studied compound can be easily recovered from the NMR tube.  相似文献

A method is described for measuring the concentrations of both glucose and glutamine in binary mixtures from near infrared (NIR) absorption spectra. Spectra are collected over the range from 5000–4000/cm (2.0–2.5μm) with a 1-mm optical path length. Glucose absorbance features at 4710, 4400, and 4300/cm and glutamine features at 4700, 4580, and 4390/cm provide the analytical information required for the measurement. Multivariate calibration models are generated by using partial least squares (PLS) regression alone and PLS regression combined with a preprocessing digital Fourier filtering step. The ideal number of PLS factors and spectral range are identified separately for each analyte. In addition, the optimum Fourier filter parameters are established for both compounds. The best overall analytical performance is obtained by combining Fourier filtering and PLS regression. Glucose measurements are established over the concentration range from 1.66–59.91 mM, with a standard error of prediction (SEP) of 0.32 mM and a mean percent error of 1.84%. Glutamine can be measured over the concentration range from 1.10–30.65 mM with a SEP of 0.75 mM and a mean percent error of 6.67%. These results demonstrate the analytical utility of NIR spectroscopy for monitoring glucose and glutamine levels in mammalian and insect cell cultures.  相似文献
