The static dielectric properties of (001)(GaAs)(p)/(AlAs)(p) superlattices have been calculated as a function of their period p for 1< or = p < or =12, starting from density-functional theory. The interplay between quantum confinement and local field effects is shown to be crucial. For light polarized in the growth direction it leads to the otherwise surprising justification of the use of a classical effective medium theory, even for the smallest periods. Only the inclusion of both contributions allows in ab initio and in semiempirical calculations to reproduce the experimentally observed birefringence.  相似文献

The X-ray structures of c-2,t-3-di-tert-butyl-r-1-methylthiiranium 8 BF(4)(-), t-2,t-3-di-tert-butyl-r-1-methylthiiranium ion 10 BF(4)(-), and 2,3-di-tert-butyl-1-methylthiirenium 11 BF(4)(-) have been determined. The DeltaG()(298) values for the rearrangements from the cis and the trans tert-butyl groups of 8 SbCl(6)(-) to thietanium ion (two intramolecular S(N)2 displacements) and for the rearrangement of 11 SbCl(6)(-) to thietium ion (an intramolecular S(N)2-Vin displacement) are linearly correlated with the strengths of the C-S breaking bonds, suggesting that the two mechanisms are, in the absence of steric hindrance, uniquely governed by the nucleofugality of the sulfonium leaving group.  相似文献

Summary We report on the cooling at liquid-helium temperature of our 2270 kg 5056 Al bar at CERN. The liquid-helium container had been filled up to 1500 liters ensuring to keep the antenna cold for more than one month. The antenna is equipped with a resonant capacitive transducer operating at constant electrical charge with a FET low-noise amplifier. The transducer is tuned to the antenna within less than I Hz and the two normal-mode frequencies are ν=908.160 Hz and ν+=924.234 Hz with an applied electrical field in the transducer of 106 V/m. The corresponding overall merit factors areQ =5.20·106 andQ +=7.25·106. The transducer has been tested up to an electrical field of 6·106 V/m: in this condition we have βQ≈104. The antenna has been in operation for several weeks giving, for the Brownian noise, values in agreement with the calculated values. We report also on the results of tests performed on a DC SQUID, whose input was connected to a commercial capacitor via a transformer with turn ratio of 1000. Two new 5-formyluracil thiosemicarbazone (H(3)ut) derivatives, Me-H(3)ut (1) and Me(2)-H(3)ut (2), were synthesized by reacting thiosemicarbazides, mono- and dimethylated on the aminic nitrogen, with 5-formyluracil and were subsequently characterized. These ligands, treated with copper chloride and nitrate, afforded three complexes: [Cu(Me-H(3)ut)Cl(2)].H(2)O (3), [Cu(Me(2)-H(3)ut)Cl(2)].H(2)O (4), and [Cu(Me-H(3)ut)(NO(3))(OH(2))(2)]NO(3) (5). The crystal structures of these complexes have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In 3 and 4, a similar pentacoordination is present; the copper atom is surrounded by the ligand SNO donor atoms and by two chloride ions. The structure of 5 consists of [Cu(Me-H(3)ut)(NO(3))(OH(2))(2)](+) cations and nitrate anions. The copper coordination (4 + 2) involves the SNO ligand atoms and a water oxygen in the basal plane; the apical positions are occupied by a second water oxygen and by an oxygen of a monodentate nitrate group. Two biochemical techniques, namely DNA titration in the UV-vis region and thermal denaturation, have been employed to probe the details of DNA binding of these compounds. Analysis of the results suggests that our compounds are able to interact with DNA by electrostatic and groove binding but not by intercalation. The compounds have been also tested in vitro on human leukemic cell line U937, but they are not able to inhibit significantly cell proliferation.  相似文献

A new and preparative oxidation of silibinin has been developed to give access to two different silibinin derivatives known for their enhanced antioxidant properties. Conventional heating methods were compared with results obtained from microwave (MW) heating. The base-catalysed oxidation of silibinin under MW heating is a very efficient method for the preparation of 2,3-dehydrosilybin and a related silybin rearrangement product. This latter compound shows enhanced radical scavenging properties. Optimised conditions were used to prepare 2,3-dehydrosilybins A and B from optically pure silybins A and B. An efficient, preparative purification method was also developed to enable isolation of different products in high purity.  相似文献

Two acetylenic steroids, cholest-5-en-23-yn-3β-ol ( 5 ) and 26,27-dinorcholest-5-en-23-yn-3β-ol ( 3 ), and another unsaturated steroidalcohol, stigmasta-5,23-dien-3β-ol ( 7 ), were isolated from the sponge Calyx nicaaensis. The structures of these two acetylenic steroids were established by synthesis. Several attempts to synthesize the marine steroids alcohol calysterol ( 1 ), with a cyclopropene-containing side chain, starting from cholest-5-en-23-yn-3β-ol are also recorded. Addition of ethyl-diazo-acetate to the triple bond was performed, but the reduction to the methyl derivative yielded decomposition products.  相似文献

The unique properties of mesoporous silica materials (MPs) have attracted substantial interest for use as enzyme-immobilization matrices. These features include high surface area, chemical, thermal, and mechanical stability, highly uniform pore distribution and tunable pore size, high adsorption capacity, and an ordered porous network for free diffusion of substrates and reaction products. Research demonstrated that enzymes encapsulated or entrapped in MPs retain their biocatalytic activity and are more stable than enzymes in solution. This review discusses recent advances in the study and use of mesoporous silica for enzyme immobilization and application in biosensor technology. Different types of MPs, their morphological and structural characteristics, and strategies used for their functionalization with enzymes are discussed. Finally, prospective and potential benefits of these materials for bioanalytical applications and biosensor technology are also presented. Summary An anti-FC-group is a group in which every subgroup either is finitely generated or has only a finite number of coniugates. In this article a classification is given of (generalized) soluble anti-FC-groups which neither are central-by-finite nor satisfy the maximal condition on subgroups. This paper describes the development of a xanthine oxidase/poly‐m‐phenylenediamine (XOD‐PPD)‐modified electrode. The biosensor was constructed by encapsulating XOD in a sol‐gel matrix deposited onto a platinum based screen‐printed electrode functionalized with a permselective PPD membrane. The hydrogen peroxide generated as a final product of the enzymatic reaction between the hypoxanthine and the XOD or by the spontaneous dismutation of superoxide radicals was selectively monitored at +700 mV. The use of a highly selective PPD layer blocked the nonspecific oxidation of other oxidizable molecules. Finally the biosensor was applied to the determination of the antioxidant capacity of acetylsalicylic acid.  相似文献
