By inelastic neutron scattering from CsNiF3 at 4.2 K spin waves in a one-dimensional ferromagnet are found for the first time. The dispersion relation can be described by only nearest neighbour interaction and follows the relation ν = 0.09 + 0.98 [1 ? cos (πqc)] THz. 相似文献
With a simple geometrical model the atomic displacements at the transition from α- to β -quartz and the eigenvector of the soft mode at the Γ -point are related to a single (order-) parameter. The model is refined by taking into account possible distortions of the SiO4 tetrahedra. These refinements, together with considerations on the temperature dependence of the order parameter, suggest an increase of π-bond order in the Si-O bond with increasing temperature as the driving mechanism for the phase transition. The model also offers a qualitative understanding of the appearance of diffuse X-ray scattering in the Γ-M direction. 相似文献
Summary: The synthesis of the new α‐hydrogen bearing nitroxide, 2,2,5‐trimethyl‐4‐(isopropyl)‐3‐azahexane‐3‐oxyl (BIPNO) ( 4 ), and its corresponding alkoxyamine, N‐tert‐butyl‐N‐(1‐isopropyl‐2‐methyl‐propyl)‐O‐(1‐phenyl‐ethyl)‐hydroxylamine (PhEt‐BIPNO) ( 7 ), are described in this paper. Reaction of styrene with the new nitroxide in the presence of a Jacobsen‐like manganese catalyst, Mn(salen)Cl, at ambient atmosphere afforded the alkoxyamine in 96% yield. Styrene and n‐butyl acrylate were polymerized in bulk in the presence of the new alkoxyamine. The alkoxyamine turned out to be a suitable “initiator” for controlled radical polymerization.

Macrocyclic natural products (NPs) and analogues thereof often show high affinity, selectivity, and metabolic stability, and methods for the synthesis of NP‐like macrocycle collections are of major current interest. We report an efficient solid‐phase/cyclorelease method for the synthesis of a collection of macrocyclic depsipeptides with bipartite peptide/polyketide structure inspired by the very potent F‐actin stabilizing depsipeptides of the jasplakinolide/geodiamolide class. The method includes the assembly of an acyclic precursor chain on a polymeric carrier, terminated by olefins that constitute complementary fragments of the polyketide section and cyclization by means of a relay‐ring‐closing metathesis (RRCM). The method was validated in the first total synthesis of the actin‐stabilizing cyclodepsipeptide seragamide A and the synthesis of a collection of structurally diverse bipartite depsipeptides. 相似文献
Point Mutations on the Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) have been identified as an important predictive biomarker for response to cancer therapy targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor. KRAS mutations are prevalent in up to 40 % of all colorectal carcinomas, and routinely conducted KRAS genotyping is becoming mandatory to predict therapy success and to reduce therapy costs. We report a low-cost, disposable and ready-to-use centrifugal microfluidic cartridge (termed GeneSlice) containing preloaded primers and probes. The GeneSlice cartridge enables the parallel detection of the seven most relevant KRAS point mutations by allele-specific real-time PCR. It represents a cost effective alternative to dideoxy-sequencing with a faster time-to-result (~ 2 h versus up to 20 h in case of dd-sequencing). Microfluidic processing of the GeneSlice along with allele-specific amplification and real-time detection are conducted in a slightly modified, commercially available PCR thermocycler. Intra-chip standard deviation of Cq values on the GeneSlices is negligible (GeneSlice 1: Cq,std.dev. = 0.13; GeneSlice 2: Cq,std.dev?=?0.26). In 23 of 24 experiments, the data for genotyping 6 cancer cell lines (n?=?4 per cell line) agreed with dd-sequencing. Additionally, DNA derived from microdissected formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded colorectal carcinomas of two cases was genotyped correctly and reproducibly (n?=?3 per patient; one GeneSlice excluded from evaluation). The GeneSlice therefore clearly demonstrated the potential to become a valuable tool for routine diagnostics of KRAS mutations by reducing costs and hands-on time. Figure

Hawking argued that black holes emit thermal radiation via a quantum spontaneous emission. To address this issue experimentally, we utilize the analogy between the propagation of fields around black holes and surface waves on moving water. By placing a streamlined obstacle into an open channel flow we create a region of high velocity over the obstacle that can include surface wave horizons. Long waves propagating upstream towards this region are blocked and converted into short (deep-water) waves. This is the analogue of the stimulated emission by a white hole (the time inverse of a black hole), and our measurements of the amplitudes of the converted waves demonstrate the thermal nature of the conversion process for this system. Given the close relationship between stimulated and spontaneous emission, our findings attest to the generality of the Hawking process. 相似文献
