dc conductivity as a function of temperature has been measured for as-evaporated and annealed films of amorphous Si, grown by the vacuum evaporation technique. The experimental data suggest that conduction in the higher temperature range (~175–300 K) is by the thermally activated holes in the localized states near the valence band edge while conduction in the lower temperature range (~77–175 K) is found to be thermally assisted tunnelling in the localized states near the Fermi level. The activation energy for both the processes is found to increase with an increase in the annealing temperature. The average hopping distance, calculated for conduction near the Fermi level, is also found to increase with an increase in the annealing temperature.  相似文献

Abstract

The Griffith-Irwin theory of brittle fracture of elastic solids predicts the propagation of cracks on the basis of the energy release rate. This depends upon the stress intensity factors for a given crack configuration. The present paper provides these informations for the problem of an infinite number of periodic, non-coplanar, parallel edge cracks in a strip. Two types of crack configurations, namely, periodic cracks of equal length starting from one edge and a set of two coplanar symmetrical edge cracks of equal length are solved for constant and linearly varying pressure distributions. These problems arise naturally in structural mechanics while investigating stresses in extension and bending of cracked strips. Final results are obtained from the numerical solution of certain Fredholm integral equations of the second kind derived from a dual series of Papkovich-Fadle eigenfunctions  相似文献

The complex nature of bacterial cell membrane and structure of biofilm has challenged the efficacy of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy. This study was aimed to synthesize a polycationic chitosan-conjugated rose bengal (CSRB) photosensitizer and test its antibiofilm efficacy on Enterococcus faecalis (gram positive) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (gram negative) using photodynamic therapy. During experiments, CSRB was tested along with an anionic photosensitizer rose bengal (RB) and a cationic photosensitizer methylene blue (MB) for uptake and killing efficacy on 7-day-old E. faecalis and P. aeruginosa biofilms. Microbiological culture based analysis was used to analyze the cell viability, while laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) was used to examine the structure of biofilm. The synthesized CSRB showed absorbance spectrum similar to the RB. The concentration of CSRB uptaken by both the bacterial biofilms was significantly higher than that of RB and MB (P < 0.05). Photoactivation resulted in significantly higher elimination of both bacterial biofilms sensitized with CSRB than RB and MB. The structure of biofilm under LSCM was found to be disrupted following CSRB treatment. The present study highlighted the importance of inherent cell membrane permeabilizing effect of chitosan and increased cell/biofilm uptake of conjugated photosensitizer to produce significant antibiofilm efficacy during photodynamic therapy.  相似文献

Two new indoles, 2-C-β-D-glucopyranosyl-1-methoxyindole-3-acetonitrile (1) and 6-hydroxy-1-methylindole3-acetonitrile (2), along with two known indoles [caulilexin C (3) and arvelexin (4)], were isolated from turnip roots (Brassica rapa ssp. campestris L.). The radiative performance of Z-pinches created by the imploding wire array loads is defined by the ablation and implosion dynamics of these loads. Both these processes can be effectively modeled by the Wire Ablation Dynamics Model (WADM), which extends the formalism exploited earlier for the cylindrical wire arrays to the loads of arbitrary geometries. The WADM calculates the ablation rates for each array wire and provides the important dynamic parameters, such as the specific mass and velocity of the imploding plasma, which can be used to estimate the shapes of the x-ray pre-pulse and, partially, the main x-ray burst. The applications of the WADM also extend to combined material wire array loads. The ablation and implosion dynamics of novel Prism Planar Wire Array (PPWA) and combined material (Mo/Al/Mo) Triple Planar Wire Array (TPWA) loads are discussed in detail. The combined WADM and radiation MHD simulation is applied to model the radiative performance of the precursor plasma column, created by the imploding stainless steel compact cylindrical wire array. As the radiation effects intensify with the mass accumulation at the array center, the simulation reveals the transformation of quasi-uniform precursor column into a heterogeneous plasma structure with strong density and temperature gradients. We find that radiative performance of the precursor plasma is greatly affected by the load geometry as well as by the wire material.  相似文献

The cyclization of o-aminobenzoylhydrazine ( 1a ) and its 5-methyl derivative 1b with four equivalents and with one equivalent of triethyl orthoacetate (TEOA) was studied. 3-Amino-2-methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone ( 2a ), 3,4-dihydro-2-methyl-5H-1,3,4-benzotriazepin-5-one ( 3a ) and an imino ether derivative of 2a , N-[2-methyl-4-oxo-3(4H)quinazolinyl]ethanimidic acid ethyl ester ( 4a ) were obtained from the reaction of 1a with four equivalents of TEOA. These results were compared with those of Merour [1] who isolated 2a and 3a using the same conditions. When 1a was treated with one equivalent of TEOA, 2a, 3a , and a new product, 2-(5-methyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)benzenamine ( 5a ) were produced, and 4a was not. Similar results were obtained with the reactions of 1b with TEOA. Authentic samples of oxadiazoles 5a and b were prepared by alternate routes. Novel acid-catalyzed rearrangements of benzotriazepinones 3a and b , to mixtures of aminoquinazolinones 2a and b and oxadiazoles 5a and b , respectively, were found. The different relative amounts of aminoquinazolinones 2 and oxadiazoles 5 which were produced from these rearrangements allowed us to choose between two potential mechanisms for these interesting rearrangements. Treatment of 5-nitrobenzoylhydrazine ( 37 ) with four equivalents of TEOA gave three products which were characterized, but did not lead to benzotriazepinone formation.  相似文献

The absorption spectra of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) solutions containing trifluoroacetic acid (TFAA) shows that the number of protons coordinating to the CuPc molecule was 1 and 2 for the first and second proton adducts, respectively, which indicates the formations of CuPcH(+) and CuPcH(2)(2+). This CuPc molecule may act as a catalyst to dissociate TFAA into trifluoroacetate anion (A(-)) and H(+) and form the proton adducts. The electrical conductivity dependence of the solution on CuPc concentration also supports this mechanism. A dense film of CuPc was deposited on an indium tin oxide cathode plate by electrophoresis of the solution. Similar dense films of a wide variety of phthalocyanines (MPc; M = Cu, H(2), Fe, Ni, Zn, Pb, VO) were also deposited using this method. Similar films of CuPc were also formed using dichloromethane (DCM) and 1,1,1-trichloroethane (TCE) in place of DCE. Depositions are ascribed to the migration of positively charged monomers (i.e., protonated MPc). Scanning electron microscopy revealed that these films are composed of fibrous crystallites, size of which was found to increase with the electrophoresis time, the strength of the applied electrical field and the concentration of CuPc in the bath. The influence of the dielectric constant of the organic solvent on the film growth is discussed.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to design and develop topical submicron size gel formulation of linseed oil with enhanced permeation through the skin for the management of psoriasis. Linseed oil contains significant amount of α-linolenic acid (ALA) an omega-3 fatty acid, which is responsible for its pharmacological actions. In order to enhance permeation through skin, microemulsion based gel formulation was prepared and characterized. Microemulsions were prepared by aqueous phase titration method, using linseed oil, Unitop 100, PEG 400, and distilled water as the oil phase, surfactant, cosurfactant and aqueous phase, respectively. Selected formulations were subjected to physical stability studies and consequently in vitro skin permeation studies. Surface morphology studies of optimized formulation were done by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The droplet size of microemulsions ranged from 70 to 500 nm with average particle size 186 nm. The optimized microemulsion was converted into hydrogel using carbopol 971 which had a viscosity of 498 ± 0.04 cps. During in vitro permeation study the flux of microemulsion formulation and gel was found to be 19.05 and 10.2 µg/cm2/hr, respectively, which indicated better penetration of linseed oil through the skin. These result indicated that the developed ME formulation may be a good approach for topical therapy for the management of psoriasis.  相似文献
