To complete the systematic study on hyperfine interactions of light impurities in ferromagnetic Ni, the short-lived beta-emitter8Li was implanted in a thin polycrystal Ni foil. One of the final sites of8Li in Ni was found by means of the beta-NMR technique andits hyperfine field was determined to be -3.65(3) kOe. Simultaneously, the spin lattice relaxation time of8Li at the site in Ni was found to be 1.6(4) s. Based on the comparison between these values and theoretical predictions recently made by a first principle calculation, the probable site of8Li in Ni is implied to be an octahedral interstitial site.  相似文献

Precise analyses of the molecular arrangement of three‐dimensional crystals, two‐dimensional molecular films, and interfacial particle layers of polyguanamine derivatives with a high refractive index have been performed. The high refractive index of the polyguanamine derivatives is not due to the chemical structure of the molecule, but is based on the packing of molecular chains or the refraction of transmitted light due to the difference in electron density between the crystalline and amorphous regions. A highly crystalline polymer has been produced by polycondensation of guanamine derivatives bearing a triazine ring and phenyl rings. The packing models of molecular chains in the three‐dimensional crystal have been determined using wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction measurements and reciprocal lattice analysis. Highly hydrophobic polyguanamine derivatives undergo a transition from monolayer to single particle layer at the air/water interface. The π‐conjugated molecular plane in the two‐dimensional films is densely stacked. Multiparticle layers are formed with a highly ordered layered structure. Polymer nanoparticles are formed by the integration of units of the collapsed polymer monolayer folded along the height direction. Since this folding occurs within the amorphous region, formation of fine particles with a high refractive index and their integrated films with densely packed π‐conjugated planes is feasible. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A spin-polarized radioactive 123In (I π , g = 1.220(2) , T 1/2 = 5.97(5) s) beam has been successfully generated by the tilted-foil method. This nuclide is the heaviest ever polarized in its ground state by this method. Using the ISOL-based re-acceleration-type facility TRIAC, an 123Ing.s. beam of 305 keV/nucleon went through a stack of 15 carbon foils with a tilt angle of 70° , and an asymmetry of 0.76 ± 0.25% of β-decays was observed by the β-NMR technique. The asymmetry shows that the tilted-foil method combined with a re-acceleration facility is useful for producing spin-polarized beams for applications such as nuclear physics and materials science.  相似文献

The nuclear electric quadrupole moment of41Sc(Iπ=7/2) was experimentally determined by use of the NMR detection in which the asymmetric β-ray distribution from spin polarized nuclei was monitored. The magnetic interaction of the state with high external magnetic field and the nuclear quadrupole interaction with the electric field gradient obtained in TiO2 crystal were studied. The field gradient seen to the implanted41Sc was measured independently by the high field NMR detection on the stable isotope45Sc located in the equivalent41Sc site with. |Q(41Sc;Iπ=7/2)|=(0.120±0.006) b was determined.  相似文献

It was confirmed by detecting the β-NMR of 12B (I π=1+, T 1/2=20.2 ms) in a TiO2 (rutile) crystal that the nuclear spin polarization of 12B was totally maintained in the crystal as produced through a nuclear reaction before implantation. Two locations, site 1 and site 2, were found with the relative populations 9 and 1, respectively, and the electric field gradients (EFGs) at those sites were obtained to be q(site 1)=+(37.1±0.5)1015 V/cm2, η(site 1)<0.03, q(site 2)=+(185±5)1015 V/cm2 and η(site 2)=0.62±0.02. We also found that about 30% of the initial polarization of 8Li (I π=2+, T 1/2=838 ms) was maintained in the crystal. Since the polarizations of other β emitting nuclei, 12,16N, 13,19O, and 41Sc were also totally maintained in the crystal, the crystal can be a “Spin Dewar” in which many short-lived nuclides can be implanted with their polarizations totally maintained during their lifetimes for the studies not only on the electronic structure of impurities in it but also on the nuclear properties.
