The chelating agent EDTA is widely used, and as a result is showing up widely in the aquatic environment. Here we describe a preconcentration procedure for measuring EDTA concentration in sea water samples by HPLC. The procedure consists of forming an Fe(III) complex followed by solid-phase extraction using an activated carbon cartridge. After the preconcentration, EDTA was quantified by HPLC with ultraviolet detection (260 nm). The enrichment permitted the determination of EDTA at concentrations as low as 1 nM. Good recoveries were obtained for both brackish and full-strength sea water with high repeatability (RSD < 6%). The method was applied to sea water samples taken from near the mouth of the Oyabe River in Japan.  相似文献

The laser-induced thermal acoustics (LITA) method was used to measure the temperature profiles induced behind spherical shock waves, generated by high-voltage discharge in air with an energy of 6 J. A Nd:YAG laser (wavelength 532 nm, energy 300 mJ, pulse duration 10 ns, line width 0.005 cm−1) and an Ar-ion laser (wavelength 488 nm, power 4 W) served as the pump and probe lasers, respectively for the LITA measurements. The peak temperatures were in good agreement with results calculated with the Euler equations. The temperature profiles behind the shock, however, differed in decay rates. The peak temperatures behind the shock wave were determined by reflected overpressure and agreed with those from the LITA measurements within a maximum error of 5%.  相似文献

The triclinic superstructure of a small crystal of LiCa2Nb3O10, lithium dicalcium triniobium decaoxide, has been investigated by synchrotron X‐ray diffraction. The unit cell is an almost rectangular parallelepiped, although there is a 0.245° offset from orthogonality for β. The structure essentially belongs to a homologous series of Li[Nan?3Ca2NbnO3n+1] with n = 3, where the moiety in square brackets has a perovskite‐type slab structure. The superstructure has a doubled unit‐cell volume with respect to the tetragonal aristotype. The NbO6 octahedra are rotated about axes parallel to [110] by approximately 10°. Adjacent slabs are connected by Li atoms and are geo­metrically related by 42 pseudosymmetry lying parallel to c . There are twice as many sites as Li atoms, providing a variation of population at these Li sites.  相似文献

We observe that the solutions for the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation converge to the corresponding solutions for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We give its convergence rate. This paper proposes a polynomial time perfect (exact) sampling algorithm for 2 × n contingency tables. The algorithm is based on monotone coupling from the past (monotone CFTP) algorithm. The dye laser excitation spectrum of the Swan band (v′ ? v″ = 1 ? 0) has been observed with Doppler-limited resolution. The C2 molecule was generated by the reaction of microwave discharge products of CF4 with CH4. The high sensitivity of laser excitation spectroscopy has enabled us to observe not only ΔΩ = 0 transitions, but also ΔΩ = ± 1 transitions and to determine molecular constants including the spin-orbit coupling constant for both the d3Πg and a3Πu states. The parameters thus obtained for a3Πu were favorably compared with those previously obtained from the Ballik-Ramsay band. The present results on the d3Πgv = 1 state were combined with those of an earlier Fourier spectroscopic study on the Swan band (v′ ? v″ = 0 ? 0) to derive equilibrium molecular constants for the d3Πg state. The contributions of the spin-rotation interaction and the centrifugal correction for the spin-orbit coupling to the energy levels in a 3Π state have been discussed in detail.  相似文献

A sensitive and variable-wavelength optical rotatory (OR) detector for high-performance liquid chromatography is presented. This design is entirely different from that of conventional OR detectors consisting of a crossed polarizer pair. By placing a polarizing prism and a retardation plate into a commercial circular dichroism (CD) detector, the OR signal was obtained. The Mueller matrix approach was used to prove the principle of the OR signal appearance. Sugars and 4-androstene-3,17-dione were chosen as test compounds. The limit of detection was below 0.5 microg of injected sucrose at 260 nm, which was superior to that obtained with a conventional OR detector. For 4-androstene-3,17-dione, which is CD active, and shows a large anomalous OR dispersion curve, our detector gave a large OR signal with approximately half the intensity of the CD signal at 340 nm.  相似文献
