A multiwavelength continuous-wave (cw) optical source is based on supercontinuum (sc) produced in a highly nonlinear fiber. Noise properties of this optical source are studied through numerical simulations based on the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The numerical simulations show that the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) generation in an erbium-doped fiber amplifier and the ASE amplification during the sc generation result in a serious degradation of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). A novel scheme for improvement of the SNR of the multiwavelength cw optical source based on sc by using a dispersion-imbalanced nonlinear optical loop mirror is presented and the numerical simulation results are given. As a result, the average level of the SNR improvement is 11 dB and the eye-opening penalty is reduced by 0.91 dB due to the SNR improvement. In addition, the scheme can also be applied for improvement of the SNR of a pulse-type multiwavelength light source. PACS 42.50.Lc; 42.65.Re; 42.79.Sz; 02.60.Cb  相似文献

We present the first excitation function of pi(-) intensity interferometry at Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS) energies (2-8 A GeV). The sensitivity of the multidimensional correlation functions to the geometry and dynamics of the pion-emitting system provides a stringent test of transport models of heavy ion collisions. Detailed comparisons with a realistic transport model, both with and without an explicit nuclear mean field, suggest that the beam energy evolution in the reaction dynamics is different in the model than in the data. A significantly increased pi(-) emission time scale, which has been suggested as a signal of the onset of the transition to quark-gluon plasma, is not observed.  相似文献

We obtain new explicit formulas for the Bergman kernel function on two families of Hartogs domains. To do so, we first compute the Bergman kernels on the slices of these Hartogs domains with some coordinates fixed, evaluate these kernel functions at certain points off the diagonal, and then apply a first order differential operator to them. We find, for example, explicit formulas for the kernel function on
$$\begin{aligned} \left\{ (z_1,z_2,w)\in \mathbb {C}^3:e^{|w|^2}|z_1|^2+|z_2|^2<1\right\} \end{aligned}$$
and on
$$\begin{aligned} \left\{ (z_1,z_2,w)\in \mathbb {C}^3:|z_1|^2+|z_2|^2+|w|^2<1+|z_2w|^2\;\mathrm{and} \;|w|<1\right\} . \end{aligned}$$
We use our formulas to determine the boundary behavior of the kernel function of these domains on the diagonal.

In this paper we extend Poincare’s nonlinear oscillation theory of discrete system to continuum mechanics. First we investigate the existence conditions of periodic solution for linear continuum system in the states of resonance and non-resonance. By applying the results of linear theory, we prove that the main conclusion of Poincare’s nonlinear oscillation theory can be extended to continuum mechanics. Besides, in this paper a new method is suggested to calculate the periodic solution in the states of both resonance and nonresonance by means of the direct perturbation of partial differential equation and weighted integration.  相似文献

We report a rewritable polarization-encoded multilayer data storage method with a polymer film doped with the azo dye DMNPAA (2,5-dimethyl-4-(p-nitrophenylazo)anisole). It is found that under two-photon excitation by a linearly polarized femtosecond laser beam at wavelength 780 nm the optical axis of DMNPAA molecules can be oriented to the perpendicular direction of the beam via a trans-cis-trans isomerization process. As a result, multilayer polarization-encoded optical data storage is demonstrated by recording two letters of a bit spacing of 4 microm in the same region of a given layer. It is shown that erasing and rewriting a particular layer is possible.  相似文献

Well-defined and narrowly distributed double-C60 end-functionalized poly(ethylene oxide) (C60-PEO-C60) was prepared by reacting azido-terminated PEO with C60. The self-organization behavior of such C60-modified copolymers in different mixtures of chloronaphthalene (CN) and benzene (BN) was studied by a combination of static and dynamic laser light scattering. For C60-PEO-C60 in pure CN, a selective solvent only for C60, self-organization occurred to form a large micelle-like core-shell aggregate, probably with some C60 interlocking with each other with the collapsed PEO chains as the core. The addition of BN, a second selective solvent for core-forming PEO chains, has a significant effect on the structures and compactness of the resultant aggregates because the introduction of BN increases the stretching of the PEO chains inside the core and modifies the interfacial energy of the core-corona interface. On the other hand, for C60-PEO-C60 in pure BN, a non-solvent of C60, several smaller flower-like micelles may self-organize to form a large spherical-like aggregation complex.  相似文献
