Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is employed to study the supermolecular microstructures of disclinations and inversion walls in thin films of a smectic side-chain liquid crystalline polymer. Two-dimensional nanostripes are formed in thin films when the material enters the smectic phase. A possible mechanism for their formation is also suggested. The stripes run parallel to the local director and thus decorate the overall patterns of nematic director around the disclinations and inversion walls. Three patterns involving radial, spiral, and circular supermolecular microstructures of a positive disclination with s = +1 and one hyperbolic pattern of a negative disclination with s = -1 are observed. The cores of all these microstructures exhibit circular dark centers in AFM height images. It is found that the specific configurations of a pair of (+1, -1) disclinations form during the late stage of annihilation and inversion walls always separate a pair of (+1, +1) disclinations. The analysis on the director fields around disclinations and inversion walls shows that the bend and splay elastic constants are of the same order of magnitude in the side-chain liquid crystalline polymer.  相似文献

We use the nonlocal linear hydrodynamic constitutive model, proposed by Evans and Morriss [Statistical Mechanics of Nonequilibrium Liquids (Academic, London, 1990)], for computing an effective spatially dependent shear viscosity of inhomogeneous nonequilibrium fluids. The model is applied to a simple atomic fluid undergoing planar Poiseuille flow in a confined channel of several atomic diameters width. We compare the spatially dependent viscosity with a local generalization of Newton's law of viscosity and the Navier-Stokes viscosity, both of which are known to suffer extreme inaccuracies for highly inhomogeneous systems. The nonlocal constitutive model calculates effective position dependent viscosities that are free from the notorious singularities experienced by applying the commonly used local constitutive model. It is simple, general, and has widespread applicability in nanofluidics where experimental measurement of position dependent transport coefficients is currently inaccessible. In principle the method can be used to predict approximate flow profiles of any arbitrary inhomogeneous system. We demonstrate this by predicting the flow profile for a simple fluid undergoing planar Couette flow in a confined channel of several atomic diameters width.  相似文献

随着激光技术的发展,近年来出现了与散射光频加宽相应的光子相干光谱即准弹性光散射。于是,利用光散射(也称弹性光散射)法不仅能获得高聚物的各种物性参数如分子量(?),第二维利系数A_2和均方旋转半径(),而且还能得到大分子在溶液中的动态参数,即扩散系数D_0。由D_0求得流体力学半径R_H。本文只涉及小角度准弹性光散射(1°<θ<7°)对稀溶液范围的平动扩散系数的测定。与文献比较,表明方法是成功的。  相似文献

Photoresists are essential for the fabrication of flexible electronics through all-photolithographic processes. Single component semiconducting photoresist exhibits both semiconducting and photo-patterning properties, and as a result, the device fabrication process can be simplified. However, the design of semiconducting polymeric photoresist with ambipolar semiconducting property remains challenging. In this paper, we report a single component semiconducting photoresist (PFDPPF4T-N3) by incorporating azide groups and noncovalent conformation locks into the side alkyl chains and conjugated backbones of a diketopyrrolopyrrole-based conjugated polymer, respectively. The results reveal that PFDPP4FT-N3 exhibits ambipolar semiconducting property with hole and electron mobilities up to 1.12 and 1.17 cm2 V?1 s?1, respectively. Moreover, field effect transistors with the individual photo-patterned thin films of PFDPPF4T-N3 also show ambipolar semiconducting behavior with hole and electron mobilities up to 0.66 and 0.80 cm2 V?1 s?1, respectively. These results offer a simple yet effective design strategy for high-performance single component semiconducting photoresists, which hold great potential for flexible electronics processed by all photolithography.

Gallic acid was separated from a n-butanol extract of the fruit of Cornus officinalis Sieb. et Zucc by high-speed countercurrent chromatography in two steps using two solvent systems composed of ethyl-acetate-ethanol n-butanol-water (5:1.8:6, v/v/v) and ethyl acetate-ethanol-water (5:0.5:6, v/v/v) successively. From 1 g of n-butanol extract the method produced 60 mg of gallic acid at a purity of 97%.  相似文献
