A three-dimensional generalization of the sign-change ( pi phase shift) rule for adiabatic cycles of spin-1/2 or two-state wave functions encircling a degeneracy in the parameter space of the Hamiltonian yields a Dirac-type singularity wherein any closed circuit of the adiabatic cycle in which the degeneracy is "looped" results in an observable +/-2pi phase shift. It is concluded that an interferometer loop similarly taken around a magnetic monopole of strength n/2 yields an observable +/-2npi phase shift, n being an integer. 相似文献

Abstract: Gamma dose response curve for phosphate (pi) release from dilute aqueous solutions of thymidine monophosphate (TMP) has been extended for very low and high doses, viz. 3 K rad to 200 K rad. Results show that Pi release in nitrogen saturated solution increases as dose increases. Possible reasons are discussed. We first derive the round-trip Jones matrix for double passage through a reciprocal optical medium by means of reflection off a plane mirror that could be optically anisotropic. We then show that if a medium with only linear birefringence and linear dichroism is placed between a pair of orthogonal quarter-wave plates with principal axes at 45 degrees to that of the medium and the sandwich is placed in front of an isotropic mirror it behaves, under double passage, like an isotropic medium. We describe a simple liquid crystal device that behaves, in reflection, as an isotropic medium whose refractive index can be varied by application of an electric field, thus acting as a phase only modulator for light in any polarization state. 相似文献

The theory of the continuous flow electrical method for the determination of specific heat of liquids has been extended to the measurements of effective specific heat of packed bed materials consisting of solid-liquid phase systems. Experimental data are reported showing the variation of effective specific heat with mass porosity and saturating liquid specific heat. The weighted arithmetic mean equation of constituent specific heats is in fair agreement with the measured values. 相似文献

The interaction of a presynthesized orange emitting Mn2+‐doped ZnS quantum dots (QDs) with L‐Cysteine (L?Cys) led to enhance emission intensity (at 596 nm) and quantum yield (QY). Importantly, the Mn2+‐doped ZnS QDs exhibited high sensitivity towards L?Cys, with a limit of detection of 0.4±0.02 μM (in the linear range of 3.3–13.3 μM) and high selectivity in presence of interfering amino acids and metal ions. The association constant of L?Cys was determined to be 0.36×105 M?1. The amplified passivation of the surface of Mn2+‐doped ZnS QDs following the incorporation and binding of L?Cys is accounted for the enhancement in their luminescence features. Coordination-driven self-assembly of discrete molecular architectures of diverse shapes and sizes has been well studied in the last three decades. Use of dynamic imine bonds for designing analogous metal-free architectures has become a growing challenge recently. This article reports an organic molecular barrel ( OB4R ) as a potential template for nucleation and stabilization of very tiny (<1.5 nm) Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs). Imine bond condensation of a rigid tetra-aldehyde with a flexible diamine followed by imine-bond reduction yielded the discrete tetragonal organic barrel ( OB4R ). The presence of a molecular pocket ornamented with eight diamine moieties gives the potential for encapsulation of silver(I). The organic barrel was finally used as a molecular vessel for the controlled nucleation of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with fine size tuning through binding of AgI ions in the confined space of the barrel followed by reduction. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis of the Ag0@OB4R composite revealed that the mean particle size is 1.44±0.16 nm. The composite material has approximately 52 wt % silver loading. The barrel-supported ultrafine AgNPs [ Ag0@OB4R ] are found to be an efficient photocatalyst for facile Ullmann-type aryl-amination coupling of haloarenes at ambient temperature without using any additives. The catalyst was stable for several cycles of reuse without any agglomeration. The new composite Ag0@OB4R represents the first example of discrete organic barrel-supported AgNPs employed as a photocatalyst in Ullmann-type coupling reactions at room temperature. 相似文献

Salmonella species are ubiquitous human pathogens which pose a dangerous threat to the elderly and children worldwide. In this study,
to develop a more efficient assay procedure for the rapid detection of Salmonella Typhimurium, an immunochromatographic strip assay was developed using immunoliposome (anti-Salmonella IgG-tagged) encapsulated with sulforhodamine B (SRB). The detection sensitivity of the developed immunochromatographic assay
was compared with a commercial immunochromatographic test strip using colloidal gold nanoparticles. The liposomes were prepared
through a reverse-phase evaporation method by using a lipid and phospholipid mixture and SRB, a fluorescence dye, which was
encapsulated in the phospholipid bilayer. Furthermore, the outer surface of the SRB-encapsulated liposome was conjugated with
antibody (affinity-purified polyclonal goat anti-Salmonella IgG) to form an immunoliposome (size, 223 nm), used as the analytical reagent in the developed immunoassay. For this strip
assay, a plastic-backed nitrocellulose strip was immobilized with two antibody zones. The lower zone of the strip referred
to Salmonella antigen capture zone (test line), while the other zone served as a positive control (control line). The lower zone was coated
with affinity-purified polyclonal goat anti-Salmonella IgG, while the upper zone was coated with rabbit anti-goat IgG. During capillary migration of the wicking solution (diluted
liposome and Salmonella culture, each 50 μl), Salmonella was captured with surface-bound immunoliposomes at the antigen capture zone, while the unbound liposomes migrated upward
and bound to another zone. The color density of the antigen capture zone was directly proportional to the amount of S. Typhimurium in the test sample. As a result, the detection limit of the immunochromatographic strip assay developed in this
study against S. Typhimurium was found to be 102 CFU/ml, which was significantly higher than the detection limit (107 CFU/ml) of the commercial immunochromatographic test strip assay. 相似文献

Electrochemical DNA sensor has been fabricated by immobilizing thiolated single stranded oligonucleotide (ssDNA) probe onto gold (Au) coated glass electrode for meningitis detection using hybridization with complementary DNA (CtrA) in presence of methylene blue (MB). These electrodes (ssDNA/Au and dsDNA/Au) have been characterized using atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetric (CV) technique. The DNA/Au electrode can detect the complementary DNA in the range of 7–42 ng/μl in 5 min (hybridization) with response time 60 s and electrode is stable for about 4 months when stored at 4 °C. The sensitivity of dsDNA/Au electrode is 115.8 μA/ng with 0.917 regression coefficient (R). 相似文献
