The effect of some alkali metal chlorides on obstruction effect // and activation energy /E/ for the tracer-diffusion of cobalt ions is studied in agar gel medium using the zone-diffusion technique. It is observed that both the parameters, and E, decrease with increasing charge density of cation of the supporting electrolyte. This trend is explained on the basis of competitive hydration between ions and agar molecules and the relative distortion in the water structure brought about by these different ions and agar molecules, respectively. 相似文献

The structural development during the melt spinning and subsequent annealing of polybutene‐1 fibers was studied with in situ wide‐angle X‐ray scattering techniques. The online spinning apparatus consisted of a vertically translating extruder that allowed different distances from the spinneret to the stationary X‐ray beam to be sampled. For all take‐up speeds examined, phase II crystals mainly were formed, with only a small population of phase I crystals existing. As the take‐up speed was increased, the crystallinity also increased, indicating that strain‐induced crystallization prevailed. The crystalline orientations observed online were very close to perfect alignment with the fiber axis. In addition, annealing studies were performed to study aspects of the gradual phase II to phase I transformation as functions of time and prior processing take‐up speed. This transformation was strongly dependent on the take‐up speed. The dependence appears to be connected to local stress enhancement via chains connecting crystallites. The results also seem to indicate that at low take‐up speeds (17 mpm) there is a series connectivity of amorphous and crystalline components in the fiber, whereas at greater take‐up speeds (100 and 250 mpm), the morphology grows into some type of three‐dimensional network, possibly a shish–kebob‐type morphology. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. While continuing our research on Hunsdiecker reaction, we came across an interesting application of bleach, sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) for decarboxylative chlorination reaction. The reaction is easily scaled up to 10?mmol. The reaction has good tolerance towards wide variety of functional groups. The fluorescence lifetime and quantum yield are seen to depend in an unexpected manner on the nature of the solvent for a pair of tripartite molecules composed of two identical boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) residues attached to a 1,10‐phenanthroline core. A key feature of these molecular architectures concerns the presence of an amide linkage that connects the BODIPY dye to the heterocyclic platform. The secondary amide derivative is more sensitive to environmental change than is the corresponding tertiary amide. In general, increasing solvent polarity, as measured by the static dielectric constant, above a critical threshold tends to reduce fluorescence but certain hydrogen bond accepting solvents exhibit anomolous behaviour. Fluorescence quenching is believed to arise from light‐induced charge transfer between the two BODIPY dyes, but thermodynamic arguments alone do not explain the experimental findings. Molecular modelling is used to argue that the conformation changes in strongly polar media in such a way as to facilitate improved rates of light‐induced charge transfer. These solvent‐induced changes, however, differ remarkably for the two types of amide. 相似文献

An efficient one-pot synthesis of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles from easily available aldehydes and thiosemicarbazide using TBHP as an oxidant has been described. Notably, these reactions were carried out at room temperature using ethanol as solvent. This is the first example for one-pot synthesis of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives from aldehydes. This new synthetic methodology provides a simple procedure utilizing a safer oxidizing system that affords the target products in mild reaction condition with satisfactory yields and wide substrate scope. 相似文献
