The adsorption behavior of dioctyldimethylammonium chloride at water/ hexane interface has been studied by measuring the interfacial tension as a function of temperature and pressure at various bulk concentrations. By applying the thermodynamics of adsorption at interfaces to the experimental results, the thermodynamic quantity changes associated with adsorption and the interfacial density of dioctyldimethylammonium chloride have been evaluated.The interfacial tension vs temperature and concentration curves have shown the breaks and it has been concluded that the first order phase transition takes place between a gaseous and an expanded state. The entropy and volume changes associated with adsorption have shown the remarkable dependence on temperature and pressure and have been found to decrease with increasing the molality. Also the energy change associated with adsorption has been evaluated and it has been concluded that the adsorption of dioctyldimethylammonium chloride at water/hexane interface is enhanced by negative values of the partial molar energy change. Further, all the thermodynamic quantities have been characterized by the discontinuous change attributable to the phase transition.  相似文献

The surface pressure of mixed monolayers of octadecylurea and hexadecylurea has been measured as a function of mean area per molecule at various temperatures and compositions. The surface pressure of the phase transition obtained was observed to decrease both with an increase in temperature and with an addition of another component. With the aid of the thermodynamic method developed previously, the apparent molar entropy and energy changes associated with the phase transition were found to be positive. These positive values were explained by the rupture of the intermolecular hydrogen bonding. Furthermore, the activity coefficients of film-forming components with reference to their respective pure components were considered in connection with the mutual interaction between octadecylurea and hexadecylurea molecules. It was concluded that the system exhibits the negative azeotropy as a result of the difficulty in forming the hydrogen bonding in the mixed monolayer.  相似文献

The thermodynamic treatment of a surfactant mixture was applied to the mixture of sodium chloride, NaCl, with octyl methyl sulfoxide (OMS) and that with decyldimethylphosphine oxide (DePO). The surface tension of aqueous solutions of the mixtures was measured as a function of the total concentration and the composition of the mixtures at 298.15 K. The total surface densities of the mixtures and the composition of the adsorbed films and micelles were evaluated by applying thermodynamic equations to the expeimental results. It was found that the adsorbed film and micelle are almost composed of the surfactant and there is slight attractive interaction between the ions of NaCl and the head groups of OMS and DePO molecules in the adsorbed films and micelles. A difference in the miscibility of NaCl and surfactant was observed between the OMS and DePO systems and attributed to the difference in the hydration of the head group between OMS and DePO molecules. The comparison of these results with those of the mixtures of NaCl with tetraethylene glycol monooctyl ether (C(8)E(4)) and dodecylammonium chloride (DAC) indicated that the small difference in the miscibility in an adsorbed film and micelle among these nonionic surfactant systems arises from the difference in hydration and structure of the head groups and the large one between the nonionic surfactant and DAC systems results from electrostatic interactions between dodecylammonium and sodium ions. The surface tension of aqueous solutions of tetradecyl-trimethylammonium chloride (TTAC) and decyltrimethylammonium chloride (DeTAC) were measured as a function of temperature at concentrations below and above the critical micelle concentration under atmospheric pressure. The entropy and energy of adsorption from the monomeric state and from the micellar state and also the entropy and energy of micelle formation for TTAC were evaluated and compared with those of dodecyltrimethyl-ammonium chloride (DTAC). The values of ΔM W s and ΔM W u for TTAC and DTAC systems show that the micelle formation is driven by the entropy at low temperatures and by the energy at high temperatures. High-spin states of 155Gd were populated by using the 154Sm(α,3nγ)155Gd reaction at E α= 33 MeV. γ-γ coincidence, E γ singles, excitation function, and the DCO ratios were measured. we have identified three intermediate bands with ΔI= 2 feeding the positive yrast band. The bands are interpreted as such candidate bands that are mixed with the negative-parity ground state band. This observation can provide a plausible explanation for unusually large population of the positive-parity yrast band observed in a recent Coulomb excitation. Received: 2 November 1999  相似文献

We report a high-contrast, high-intensity Ti:sapphire chirped-pulse amplification system that incorporates a nonlinear preamplifier based on optical parametric chirped-pulse amplification (OPCPA). By cooling the Ti:sapphire crystal in the final amplifier down to 77 K, the chirped-pulses are amplified to 2.9 J at a 10 Hz repetition rate without a thermal lensing effect. Pulse compression down to 19 fs duration obtained after amplification indicates a peak power of 80 TW. With the OPCPA, the temporal contrast is significantly improved to better than 7x10(-9) in a few picoseconds interval prior to the main laser pulse.  相似文献
