Organic-inorganic hybrid of chitosan and nanoclay (Cloisite 10A) was chosen to develop a nanomaterial with combine properties of hydrophilicity of an organic polycation and adsorption capacity of inorganic polyanion. The chitosan/clay nanocomposite (CCN) was prepared by solvent casting method. The material synthesis was found most efficient in adsorbent behavior was studied in detail taking Cr(VI) as representative ion. The chemical, structural and textural characteristics of the material were determined by FTIR, XRD, TEM, SEM and EDAX analysis. XRD and TEM results indicated that an exfoliated structure was formed with addition of small amounts of MMT-Na+(montmorillonite-Na(+)) to the chitosan matrix. These composite material were used for the removal of chromium(VI) from aqueous solution. The conditions for the adsorption by the composite have been optimized and kinetics and thermodynamic studies were performed. Though the adsorption takes place in wide pH range, pH 3 was found most suitable and at this pH the adsorption data were modeled using the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms at 15 °C and 35 °C, where the data fitted satisfactorily to Langmuir isotherms, the R(2) values being 0.998 and 0.999 respectively indicating unilayer adsorption. Based on Langmuir model, Q(o) was calculated to be 357.14 mg/g. The adsorption showed pseudo second order kinetics with a rate constant of 8.0763 × 10(-4) g mg(-1) min(-1) at 100 ppm Cr(VI) concentration.  相似文献

The scope and limitations of metal tetrafluoroborates have been studied for epoxide ring-opening reaction with amines, and Zn(BF(4))(2)·xH(2)O has been found to be a mild and efficient catalyst affording high yields under solvent-free conditions at rt with excellent chemo-, regio-, and stereoselectivities. The catalytic efficiency followed the order Zn(BF(4))(2)·xH(2)O ? Cu(BF(4))(2)·xH(2)O > Co(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O ? Fe(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O > LiBF(4) for reactions with cyclohexene oxide and Zn(BF(4))(2)·xH(2)O ? Co(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O ? Fe(BF(4))(2)·6H(2)O > Cu(BF(4))(2)·xH(2)O for stilbene oxide, but AgBF(4) was ineffective. For reaction of styrene oxide with aniline, the metal tetrafluoroborates exhibited comparable regioselectivity (1:99-7:93) with preferential reaction at the benzylic carbon of the epoxide ring. A reversal of regioselectivity (91:1-69:31) in favor of the reaction at the terminal carbon of the epoxide ring was observed for reaction with morpholine. The regioselectivity was dependent on the electronic and steric factors of the epoxide and the pK(a) of the amine and independent of amine nucleophilicity. The role of the metal tetrafluoroborates is envisaged as "electrophile nucleophile dual activation" through cooperativity of coordination, charge-charge interaction, and hydrogen-bond formation that rationalizes the catalytic efficiency, substrate reactivity, and regioselectivity. The methodology was used for synthesis of cardiovascular drug metoprolol as racemic and enriched enantiomeric forms.  相似文献

For bottleneck problem of the broadband access networks, Ethernet-PON comes out as a striking and promising solution. Even though, EPON nodes necessitate a cost-effective up-gradation, WDM based topology proves to be a vigilant up-grading approach that deals with the deployment of multiple wavelengths in the upstream/downstream directions. Furthermore, only EPON nodes with privileged traffic can be WDM-upgraded. Accordingly, we propose and demonstrate a hybrid multiplexed OFDM/DWDM-EPON access network employing OSSB modulation scheme. Case A demonstrates a single channel OFDM-OSSB-EPON system and achieves a fiber link of 27 km with split ratio of 16. Afterwards, a contrast between OFDM-EPON and conventional EPON (C-EPON) after a fiber link of 20 km with split ratio of 16 is carried out. Case B targets the transmission of two channels with channel spacing of 0.1 nm to realize OFDM-DWDM-OSSB-EPON system and achieves a fiber link of 20 km with split ratio of 32.  相似文献

The photoreactions of recombinant phytochrome CphA from cyanobacterium Calothrix sp. PCC7601 reconstituted with phycocyanobilin were investigated using UV–Vis and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) difference spectroscopy, stabilizing intermediates at low temperature. The yield of the forward reaction strongly depends on temperature, unlike the backward reaction. Because of the very fast thermal relaxation processes in the Pr to Pfr pathway, no pure difference spectra of the Pr photoconversion products could be directly measured. Thus, the contribution of the Pfr:Pr pathway was taken into account by applying an appropriate correction procedure both in the UV–Vis and FTIR experiments. Three intermediates have been trapped at −25, −45 and −120°C, which show the characteristic vibrational band pattern of the plant phytochrome phyA intermediates meta-Rc, meta-Ra and lumi-R, respectively. In the backward reaction, two intermediates corresponding to meta-F and lumi-F were trapped at −70 and −140°C, respectively. FTIR spectra of all intermediates, as well as of the Pfr state, show remarkable similarities with the corresponding spectra of Cph1 phytochrome from cyanobacterium Synechocystis and the 59 kDa N-terminal fragment of Cph1, and, albeit not so pronounced, also with plant phyA. The spectral similarities and differences between the various phytochromes are discussed in terms of structural changes of the chromophore and the chromophore–protein interactions.  相似文献

In order to fabricate efficient and superior performance liquid crystal (LC) devices, the physical parameters of the LC mesogens can be duly altered by incorporating non-mesogenic materials like quantum dots (QDs), graphene and polymers. In the present work, the effect of adding core/shell QDs in two ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLCs), along with the change in their physical properties, has been investigated. A small concentration of QDs is dispersed into the two FLCs and temperature variations of vital parameters like spontaneous polarisation (Ps), rotational viscosity, response time, relative permittivity and relaxation strength have been measured for both the FLC materials. The contrast ratio, UV–near visible absorbance as well as photoluminescence (PL) of both the mesogens have also been determined and compared. A faster electro-optical response and the induced phenomenon of PL with a temperature-dependent low-frequency relaxation mode have been observed in Felix 17/100 after the addition of QDs. The present study also provides valuable information about the interaction between QDs and the two FLC systems depending upon polarisation–field (P–E) coupling. The same dopant can interact with FLCs in dissimilar fashion if the intrinsic properties of both the FLCs are different thereby producing different modifications in their respective physical parameters.  相似文献

Photocatalysis is a defendable manner for production of several organic chemicals, energy and its storage from solar energy. For the evolution of metal free, cost-effective catalyst a 2D composite has been appear as a photocatalyst. Here, we had reported the synthesis of a light harvesting composite as a photocatalyst which was assembled by a poly-condensation mechanism between graphitic carbon nitride and tetrakis(4-nitrophenyl) porphyrin and the resulting composite manifest the excellent light harvesting properties, suitable energy band and low charge recombination. The photocatalyst [(NO2)4TPP@g-C3N4] enables the efficient photocatalytic production of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) from consumed NAD+ also the production of organic chemicals like 4-methoxybenzylimines from 4-methoxybenzylamines. The photocatalytic efficiency of the photocatalyst was estimated by the percentage of NADH regeneration and the percentage yield of organic transformations. It shows the tetrakis(4-nitrophenyl) porphyrin could enhance the charge transfer capacity of graphitic carbon nitride which shows excellent photocatalysis activities and organic transformations.  相似文献

The Jagiellonian Positron Emission Tomograph (J-PET) is the first PET device built from plastic scintillators. It is a multi-purpose detector designed for medical imaging and for studies of properties of positronium atoms in porous matter and in living organisms. In this article we report on the commissioning of the J-PET detector in view of studies of positronium decays. We present results of analysis of the positron lifetime measured in the porous polymer. The obtained results prove that J-PET is capable of performing simultaneous imaging of the density distribution of annihilation points as well as positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy.  相似文献

Pristine and trustworthy data are required for efficient computer modelling for medical decision-making, yet data in medical care is frequently missing. As a result, missing values may occur not just in training data but also in testing data that might contain a single undiagnosed episode or a participant. This study evaluates different imputation and regression procedures identified based on regressor performance and computational expense to fix the issues of missing values in both training and testing datasets. In the context of healthcare, several procedures are introduced for dealing with missing values. However, there is still a discussion concerning which imputation strategies are better in specific cases. This research proposes an ensemble imputation model that is educated to use a combination of simple mean imputation, k-nearest neighbour imputation, and iterative imputation methods, and then leverages them in a manner where the ideal imputation strategy is opted among them based on attribute correlations on missing value features. We introduce a unique Ensemble Strategy for Missing Value to analyse healthcare data with considerable missing values to identify unbiased and accurate prediction statistical modelling. The performance metrics have been generated using the eXtreme gradient boosting regressor, random forest regressor, and support vector regressor. The current study uses real-world healthcare data to conduct experiments and simulations of data with varying feature-wise missing frequencies indicating that the proposed technique surpasses standard missing value imputation approaches as well as the approach of dropping records holding missing values in terms of accuracy.  相似文献

The Jagiellonian Positron Emission Tomograph (J-PET) is a novel device being developed at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland based on organic scintillators. J-PET is an axially symmetric (M. It is well suited to pursue tests of discrete symmetries in decays of positronium in addition to medical imaging. J-PET enables the measurement of both momenta and the polarization vectors of annihilation photons. The latter is a unique feature of the J-PET detector which allows the study of time reversal symmetry violation operator which can be constructed solely from the annihilation photons momenta before and after the scattering in the detector.  相似文献
