Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activities of Novel Series of 3‐(4‐(2‐substituted thiazol‐4‐yl)phenyl)‐2‐(4‐methyl‐2‐substituted thiazol‐5‐yl)thiazolidin‐4‐one Derivatives

In the present investigation, a novel series of 3‐(4‐(2‐substituted thiazol‐4‐yl)phenyl)‐2‐(4‐methyl‐2‐substituted thiazol‐5‐yl)thiazolidin‐4‐one derivatives were synthesized by condensation of 2‐substituted‐4‐methylthiazole‐5‐carbaldehyde with 4‐(2‐substituted thiazol‐4‐yl)benzenamine followed by cyclo‐condensation with thioglycolic acid in toluene. All the newly synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral (IR, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, and Mass) methods. The title compounds were screened for quantitative antibacterial activity (minimal inhibitory concentration). All compounds 7a , 7b , 7c , 7d , 7e , 7f , 7g , 7h and 8a , 8b , 8c , 8d , 8e , 8f , 8g , 8h show moderate to good antimicrobial activity, whereas compounds ( 7a , 7b , 7c , 7d , 7e , 7f , 7g , 7h ) also show moderate antifungal activity.

We study the estimates on the supremum norm of the solutions and estimates on the critical values of λ.     

Structure and NMR properties of 6‐substituted‐5,6‐dihydrobenzo[c]phenanthridine alkaloids

We report a preparation of new 6‐substituted‐5,6‐dihydrobenzo[c]phenanthridines by the reaction of azoles with quaternary benzo[c]phenanthridine alkaloids sanguinarine and chelerythrine. The prepared compounds have been characterized by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Conformational behaviors of carbazole derivatives in solution have been investigated by low‐temperature NMR experiments. Barriers to rotation around newly formed C6–N bonds were determined to be 12–13 kcal/mol. Quantum chemical calculations have been used to reproduce the experimental observations. Large structural effects on several ¹H NMR resonances were observed experimentally, analyzed by Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations at B3LYP/6‐311+G(d,p)/PCM level, and interpreted by ring‐current effects of the benzo[c]phenanthridine and carbazole units. Effect of Ti4+ substitution on the hyperfine properties of Li–Sb–Ti ferrites using Mössbauer spectroscopy

Mössbauer investigations were carried out at room temperature on the ferrite system Li_0.6?+?0.5tFe_2.3???1.5tTi_tSb_0.1O₄ (0.0 ≤ t ≤ 1.0 in steps of 0.2). The effect of Ti^4?+? concentration on the various hyperfine interactions like Isomer shift, quadrupole splitting and internal magnetic field have been studied. The spectra exhibited well-defined Zeeman sextets at low substitution level, corresponding to the A and B sites. The sample with t = 1.0 showed paramagnetic behaviour. The results obtained have been discussed.     

Sodium 2-(2-pyridin-3-ylethylamino)sulfonate: an efficient ligand and base for palladium-catalyzed Heck reaction in aqueous media

The first successful Pd(OAc)₂, N-donor ligand and base mediated Heck coupling reaction of aryl halides and alkenes in water is described. The corresponding Heck products were obtained in good to excellent yields.     

N‐donor ligand as catalyst: A simple aza‐michael addition reaction in aqueous media

A novel approach for the Aza‐Michael addition reactions between various amines and α,β‐unsaturated esters, nitriles and ketones using N‐donor Ligand catalyst (3 mol %) is described. The reactions are carried out in aqueous media at an ambient temperature to afford the products in excellent yields.
