A total synthesis of d1-coriolin

A total synthesis of d1-coriolin has been accomplished starting from 1,3-cyclooctadiene, in which a rational and efficient introduction of various functional groups to the synthetic intermediate, 7-endo-t-butyldimethylsilyloxybicyclo[3.3.0]-oct-8-en-2-one, is involved.     

p-Benzoquinone-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride as highly reactive and versatile electron-accepting dienophile

Pericyclic reactions of p-benzoquinone-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride(PBA) with homo-dienne and conjugated medium-ring polyenes have been examined. The high peri- and stereospecificity observed with dienes is explained using the frontier orbital model where the diene HOMO-PBA LUMO interaction predominates.     

The development of grain-oriented silicon steel with high permeability

We explain the theoretical background, uses and new development of grain-oriented silicon steel with high permeability using A1N as a grain growth inhibitor.New production techniques have made it possible to get superior core loss values; for example, 0.99 W/kg at 1.7 Tesla and 50 Hz (0.30 mm thickness). The presence of A1N precipitated being controlled in the size of about 300 Å or under and in adequate distribution and quantity in the steel is very important for developing secondary grains with high permeability.Core loss improvements on actual transformers using high permeability materials are approximately 10–25% in wound type pole transformers and 5–20% in laminated type large transformers.     

Spin-spiral ordering in magnetic superconductors

The spin-spiral ordering in magnetic superconductors is caused by the interplay among the photon-field, the persistent current, and localized spin moments. The dynamical spin-susceptibility of this system is derived and the dynamical properties are studied in connection with this spin-spiral ordering.
