Many combinatorial problems can be efficiently solved for partialk-trees (graphs of treewidth bounded byk). The edge-coloring problem is one of the well-known combinatorial problems for which no efficient algorithms were previously known, except a polynomial-time algorithm of very high complexity. While considering auditory-brain model for subjective responses, effects of spatial factors extracted from the interaural cross-correlation function (IACF) on annoyance of noise stimuli are examined. The previously developed indices to measure sound pressure levels (SPL) and frequency characteristics cannot fully explain the psychological effects of noise. In the first experiment, subjects judged their annoyance by changing fluctuations in the magnitude of interaural cross-correlation function (IACC) and the SPL. In the second, they judged their annoyance by changing fluctuations in the interaural time delay (τIACC) and the SPL. Results show that: (1) annoyance increased by increasing the fluctuations of IACC as well as the SPL, (2) annoyance increased by increasing the fluctuations of τIACC as well as the SPL. 相似文献

We present a search for electron neutrino appearance from accelerator-produced muon neutrinos in the K2K long-baseline neutrino experiment. One candidate event is found in the data corresponding to an exposure of 4.8 x 10(19) protons on target. The expected background in the absence of neutrino oscillations is estimated to be 2.4+/-0.6 events and is dominated by misidentification of events from neutral current pi(0) production. We exclude the nu(micro) to nu(e) oscillations at 90% C.L. for the effective mixing angle in the 2-flavor approximation of sin((2)2theta(microe)( approximately 1/2sin((2)2theta(13))>0.15 at Deltam(2)(microe)=2.8 x 10(-3) eV(2), the best-fit value of the nu(micro) disappearance analysis in K2K. The most stringent limit of sin((2)2theta(microe)<0.09 is obtained at Deltam(2)(microe)=6 x 10(-3) eV(2). 相似文献

We demonstrate the generation of continuous-wave (cw) Raman sidebands through phase-matched four-wave mixing (FWM) in molecular hydrogen. The phase-matching conditions of the intracavity FWM driven in our dispersion-compensated high-finesse cavity are satisfied over a 52.8 THz-wide frequency range (763.9–883.6 nm). This leads to the generation of high-order anti-Stokes emission. The cw Raman sidebands have sufficient bandwidth to allow the synthesis of a train of optical pulses with a duration of 13 fs at a repetition rate of 17.6 THz under phase-locked conditions. 相似文献

The confinement characteristics of large net-current-free plasmas heated by neutral-beam injection have been investigated in the Large Helical Device (LHD). A systematic enhancement in energy-confinement times from the scaling derived from the medium-sized heliotron/torsatron experiments have been observed, which is attributed to the edge pedestal. The core confinement is scaled with the Bohm term divided by the square root of the gyro radii. The comparative analysis using a dimensionally similar discharge in the Compact Helical System indicates gyro-Bohm dependence in the core and transport improvement in the edge region of LHD plasmas. 相似文献

In LHD discharges a significant enhancement of the global energy confinement has been achieved for the first time in a helical device with an edge thermal barrier, which exhibits a sharp gradient at the edge of the temperature profile. Key features associated with the barrier are quite different from those seen in tokamaks: (i) almost no change in particle (including impurity) transport, (ii) a gradual formation of the barrier, (iii) a very high ratio of the edge temperature to the average temperature, and (iv) no edge relaxation phenomenon. We study the global-in-time behavior of solutions to a reaction–diffusion system with mass conservation, as proposed in the study of cell polarity, particularly, the second model of the work by Otsuji et al. (PLoS Comput Biol 3:e108, 2007). First, we show the existence of a Lyapunov function and confirm the global-in-time existence of the solution with compact orbit. Then we study the stability and instability of stationary solutions by using the semi-unfolding-minimality property and the spectral comparison. The interaction between two counter-streaming laser-produced plasmas is studied with shadowgraph and interferometry on the Shenguang II (SG-II) laser facility. The ene-diyne systems 1 and 2 possessing ferrocenyl groups at the periphery were prepared by the simple one-pot Sonogashira-Hagihara coupling reaction of ethynylferrocene with 9-dibromomethylene-9H-fluorene (4) and 9,10-bis(dibromomethylene)-9,10-dihydroanthracene (5).
