Regularity of Harmonic Functions in Cheeger-Type Sobolev Spaces   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
We give a geometric approach to the study of the regularity of harmonic functions in Cheeger-type Sobolev spaces, and prove the Hölder continuity of such functions. In the proof, we give a definition of an upper curvature bound of the unit sphere of a Banach space, which seems to be of independent interest.  相似文献

A gas phase chemiluminescence (GPCL)-based method for trace measurement of arsenic has been recently described for the measurement of arsenic in water. The principle is based on the reduction of inorganic As to AsH3 at a controlled pH (the choice of pH governs whether only As(III) or all inorganic As is converted) and the reaction of AsH3 with O3 to produce chemiluminescence (Idowu et al., Anal. Chem. 78 (2006) 7088-7097). The same general principle has also been used in postcolumn reaction detection of As, where As species are separated chromatographically, then converted into inorganic As by passing through a UV photochemical reactor followed by AsH3 generation and CL reaction with ozone (Idowu and Dasgupta, Anal. Chem. 79 (2007) 9197-9204). In the present paper we describe the measurement of As in different soil and dust samples by serial extraction with water, citric acid, sulfuric acid and nitric acid. We also compare parallel measurements for total As by induction coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). As(V) was the only species found in our samples. Because of chloride interference of isobaric ArCl+ ICP-MS analyses could only be carried out by standard addition; these results were highly correlated with direct GPCL and LC-GPCL results (r2 = 0.9935 and 1.0000, respectively). The limit of detection (LOD) in the extracts was 0.36 μg/L by direct GPCL compared to 0.1 μg/L by ICP-MS. In sulfuric acid-based extracts, the LC-GPCL method provided LODs inferior to those previously observed for water-based standards and were 2.6, 1.3, 6.7, and 6.4 μg/L for As(III), As(V), dimethylarsinic acid (DMA) and monomethylarsonic acid (MMA), respectively.  相似文献

A highly regio- and diastereoselective TiCl4-mediated vinylogous Mukaiyama aldol reaction using the chiral vinylketene silyl N,O-acetal has been developed. The present vinylogous Mukaiyama aldol reaction provides a unique and effective means of controlling remote asymmetric induction. The methyl group at the alpha-position is important in achieving a high level of stereoselectivity. From a synthetic point of view, this methodology can provide a one-step construction of delta-hydroxy-alpha,gamma-dimethyl-alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl unit that is seen in many natural polyketide products.  相似文献

Single-bubble sonochemiluminescence in aqueous luminol solutions   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Sonochemiluminescence (SCL) of luminol due to a single bubble is studied through spectral measurement. No SCL was observed from a stable single bubble that emitted high-intensity sonoluminescence (SL). In contrast, SCL was observed under conditions of an unstable dancing bubble, where a bubble grows and ejects tiny bubbles, making it "dance" by counteraction. Furthermore, SCL was observed from dancing bubbles even when SL was not observed, depending on the dissolved gas content. The instability of bubble collapse is the key parameter governing SCL.  相似文献

Measurements of aroxyl radical (ArO)-scavenging rate constants () of antioxidants (AOHs) (α-tocopherol (α-TocH) and three catechins (CatHs) (ie, epicatechin (EC), epigallocatechin (EGC), and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)) were performed in ethanol solution, using stopped-flow spectrophotometry. values were measured not only for each AOH, but also for the mixtures of two AOHs (α-TocH and CatH). A notable synergistic effect that the value of α-TocH increases 1.29, 1.84, and 1.65 times under the coexistence of constant concentrations of EC, EGC, and EGCG, respectively, was observed for the solutions including α-TocH and CatH. Similarly, values of CatHs (EC, EGC, and EGCG) increased 1.72, 2.25, and 2.34 times under the coexistence of constant concentrations of α-TocH, respectively. UV-Vis absorption of α-tocopheroxyl radical (α-Toc) (λmax = 428 nm), which had been produced by reaction of α-TocH with ArO, decreased remarkably under the coexistence of α-TocH and CatHs due to the fast α-TocH-regeneration reaction by CatHs. The result suggests that the prooxidant reaction due to α-Toc is suppressed by the coexistence of CatHs. By analyzing the formation and decay curves of α-Toc, it has been ascertained that one molecule of EGCG having three OH groups at B-ring may rapidly regenerate three molecules of α-Toc to α-TocH.  相似文献

Underground fluids are important natural sources of drinking water, geothermal energy, and oil-based fuels. To facilitate the surveying of such underground fluids, a novel microchannel extraction device was investigated for in-line continuous analysis and flow injection analysis of sulfide levels in water and in oil. Of the four designs investigated, the honeycomb-patterned microchannel extraction (HMCE) device was found to offer the most effective liquid–liquid extraction. In the HMCE device, a thin silicone membrane was sandwiched between two polydimethylsiloxane plates in which honeycomb-patterned microchannels had been fabricated. The identical patterns on the two plates were accurately aligned. The extracted sulfide was detected by quenching monitoring of fluorescein mercuric acetate (FMA). The sulfide extraction efficiencies from water and oil samples of the HMCE device and of three other designs (two annular and one rectangular channel) were examined theoretically and experimentally. The best performance was obtained with the HMCE device because of its thin sample layer (small diffusion distance) and large interface area. Quantitative extraction from both water and oil could be obtained using the HMCE device. The estimated limit of detection for continuous monitoring was 0.05 μM, and sulfide concentrations in the range of 0.15–10 μM could be determined when the acceptor was 5 μM FMA alkaline solution. The method was applied to natural water analysis using flow injection mode, and the data agreed with those obtained using headspace gas chromatography-flame photometric detection. The analysis of hydrogen sulfide levels in prepared oil samples was also performed. The proposed device is expected to be used for real time survey of oil wells and groundwater wells.  相似文献

Novel camphor-1,2,4-triazines fused with imidazole 2–3 , thiadiazole 4 , 1,2,4-triazole 7 , pyrimidine 9–13 and 1,3,5-triazine 14 , were synthesized starting from (5R,8S)-3-amino-5,9,9-trimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,8-methano-1,2,4-benzotriazine 1 . Evaluation of central nervous system stimulant activity demonstrated that the presence of a N-N group at C-3 position of 1,2,4-benzotriazine will be essential for the activity.  相似文献

Simultaneous measurement of sulfur species was investigated using ion chromatography. Sulfide, methanethiolate, sulfite and sulfate are representative of sulfur species. The aqueous sulfur species were simultaneously measured using a two-detector system: suppressor-type conductivity detector for sulfite and sulfate, and fluorometric or electrochemical detector for the reduced sulfur compounds. The major sulfur-containing gases, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and sulfur dioxide are collected into aqueous solution as the species listed above. Collection of sulfur gases using a membrane-based cylindrical diffusion scrubber was investigated. Atmospheric hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide are measured by the diffusion scrubber collection and subsequent measurement by ion chromatography without an enrichment column. In addition to the two gases, methyl mercaptan was also determined using a dual scrubber system.  相似文献

The second hyperpolarizabilities of bisimidazole- and bistriazole-benzene compounds have been calculated at different levels of approximation to unravel the effects of diradical character as well as of charge and spin multiplicity. The largest second hyperpolarizabilities are associated with intermediate diradical character, provided positive charging does not compensate for this effect. For the neutral diradical bisimidazole compound, the singlet diradical species possesses a second hyperpolarizability two to three times larger than the corresponding triplet, demonstrating the possibility of spin state control of the third-order NLO responses for diradical species.  相似文献
