Photoirradiation at >300 nm of aqueous suspensions of several natural crystal specimens and synthesized crystallites of mercury(II) sulfide (HgS) induced deaminocyclization of optically active or racemic lysine into pipecolinic acid (PCA) under deaerated conditions. This is the first example, to the best of our knowledge, of photoinduced chemical reactions of natural biological compounds over natural minerals. It was found that the natural HgS crystals had activity higher than those of synthesized ones but lower than those of other sulfides of transition metals, e.g., CdS and ZnS, belonging to the same II-IV chalcogenides. In almost all of the photoreactions, decompostion of HgS occurred to liberate hydrogen sulfide (H(2)S) and Hg(2+), and the latter seemed to have undergone in-situ reductive deposition on HgS as Hg(0) after a certain induction period (24-70 h) during the photoirradiation, as indicated by the darkened color of the suspensions. The formation of PCA, presumably through combination of oxidation of lysine and reduction of an intermediate, cyclic Schiff base, could also be seen after a certain induction time of the Hg(0) formation. This was supported by the fact that the addition of small amount of Hg(2+) (0.5 wt % of HgS) increased the PCA yield by almost 2-fold. We also tried to elucidate certain aspects of the plausible stereochemical reactions in relation to the chiral crystal structure of HgS. Although, in some experiments, slight enantiomeric excess of the product PCA was observed, the excess was below or equal to the experimental error and no other supporting analytical data could not be obtained; we cannot conclude the enantiomeric photoproduction of PCA by the natural chiral HgS specimen. 相似文献

Regio- and stereoselective sulfonylation of allenes under Cu catalysis is described. Allenyl sp carbons exclusively react with TsCN to give the corresponding alkenyl sulfones. The reaction is initiated by addition of tosyl radical to form benzyl radical intermediates, which determines the reaction pathway. A nickel-catalyzed [2 + 2] cycloaddition of bisallenes has been described. Simple bisallenes are employed for the formation of “head to head” cycloadducts in the presence of Ni(0) with xantphos. The dienyl moiety in a product were applicable for various [4 + 2] cycloaddition reactions. Polyenemacrolides such as amphotericin B (AmB) were thought to assemble together and form an ion channel across plasma membranes. Their antimicrobial activity has been accounted for by this assemblage, whose stability and activity are dependent on sterol constituents of lipid bilayer membranes. The structure of this channel-like assemblage formed in biomembranes has been a target of extensive investigations for a long time. For the first step to this goal, we prepared several AmB dimers with various linkers and tested for their channel-forming activity. Among these, AmB dimers that bore an aminoalkyl-dicarboxylate tether covalently linked between amino groups of AmB showed potent hemolytic activity. Furthermore, K+ influx actions monitored by measuring the pH of the liposome lumen by 31P NMR revealed that the dimers formed the molecular assemblage similar to that of AmB in phospholipid membrane. Judging from changes in 31P NMR spectra, the dimers appeared to induce "all-or-none"-type ion flux across the liposome membrane in the presence of ergosterol, which suggested that the ion channel formed by ergosterol/dimer is similar to that of AmB. With these data in hand, we are now trying to elucidate the structure of the ion-channel complex by making the labeled conjugates of AmB for NMR measurements. 相似文献

A new metallofullerene, La2@C78, has been synthesized by DC arc discharge method, isolated by high-performance liquid chromatography, and characterized by laser desorption time-of-flight mass spectrometry, UV-vis-NIR absorption, differential pulse voltammetry, 13C NMR spectroscopy, and theoretical calculations. The La2@C78/CS2 solution is dark violet and presents several characteristic absorption features at 647, 561, 533, and 386 nm, with an onset around 1000 nm. With respect to empty D3-C78, the capability of La2@C78 as an electron acceptor or donor is stronger. Addition of 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-1,2-disirane to La2@C78 photochemically, as well as thermally, affords bis- and mono-adducts. Theoretical studies and 13C NMR spectroscopic analysis of La2@C78 indicate that it possesses a D3h-C78 cage (78:5). 相似文献

In the present paper, a study was undertaken of molecular transport in ploy(dimethylsiloxane) microchannels that were fabricated by ultraviolet (UV)-photolithography and synchrotron radiation (SR)-lithography characterized and compared for microchip capillary electrophoresis by evaluating in-channel molecular dispersion. A fluorescent tag, sulforhodamine B was used as the probing molecule. It was found that microchannels made by SR-lithography fabrication were superior to those made by UV-photolithography fabrication in terms of molecular transport performance. A deep insight into surface conditions characterized by scanning electron microscopy suggested it was related to the difference in surface roughness. Chromatographic retention in electropherograms further supported such a conclusion, which depended on the phase ratio of the channel surface. The results revealed for PDMS microchannels in this work were in good agreement with the phenomenon found for glass microchannels in the literature. 相似文献

It was found that the periodic change of the solution viscosity and density was generated in the Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction. This rhythmic phenomenon was observed in both the iron catalyst [[Fe(Phen)(3)](2+)-[Fe(Phen)(3)](3+)] and the cerium catalyst [Ce(III)-Ce(IV)] system, where the solution viscosity and density were synchronized with the redox potential in the in-phase mode. However, the time delay existed between the redox potential and the solution viscosity and density. The behavior of the BZ reaction was also monitored in the presence of the nonionic surfactant. This experiment revealed that, beyond the critical micelle concentration, the phase between the redox potential and the solution viscosity and density was synchronized into the antiphase mode. We suggested that the variation of the catalyst drove the oscillation of the solution viscosity and density in the BZ reaction. 相似文献

A simple method for the diastereoselective synthesis of racemic 1,2-diol mediated by low-valence niobium generated in situ is described. A 1,4-dioxane-toluene solvent system was found to be essential to achieve higher selectivities and to prevent other reactions of pinacols, such as deoxygenation and acetal formation. In this study, we have investigated the singlet oxygen ((1)Delta(g)) generation mechanism using phthalocyaninatosilicon (SiPc) covalently linked to nitroxide radicals (NRs), and we succeeded in increasing the singlet oxygen quantum yield (Phi(Delta)) by linking the NRs. This originates from both an increase in the triplet quantum yield and excited-state lifetimes long enough to utilize photochemical reactions. Because the electron exchange interactions with paramagnetic species were known to result only in very fast excited-state relaxation, leading to a decrease in photochemical reaction yields, this increase in Phi(Delta) is an unusual and precious example for increasing photochemical reaction yields by electron exchange interactions with paramagnetic species. In addition, our experiments and theoretical analyses show that the spin-selective energy transfer rate constant is not influenced by linking the NRs and can be evaluated by the product of spin-statistical factors and matrix elements between the initial and final states. 相似文献
