The effects of Soto's 'beta-sheet breaker peptide' and its polymer on PrPSc formation in ScN2a cells were investigated. Surface plasmon resonance study indicated that direct binding between PrP(81-145) and the 'beta-sheet breaker peptide' is not specific and may not play a major role in the inhibition of PrPSc formation.  相似文献

Summary The hydrodechlorination of tetrachloroethylene in methanol (MeOH) over palladium catalysts on activated carbon (Pd/C) at 20°C and atmospheric pressure was rendered safer by using ethanol (EtOH), isopropanol (IPA) or water-alcohol mixtures as solvents. Adding water to MeOH was better than using EtOH or IPA since it resulted in a faster reaction and better stability of Pd/C, which could also be completely reactivated.  相似文献

The PCl3-promoted intramolecular cascade cyclization produced a series of thiophene-fused phospholo[3,2-b]phosphole derivatives, including non-oxidized 2, dioxides 3, and disulfides 4. These derivatives exhibit significantly red-shifted absorptions and fluorescences compared with their benzene-fused analogues. Among the thiophene-fused series, the non-oxidized 2 has the highest fluorescence quantum yield of 0.95. This trend is in contrast to that observed for the benzene analogues, in which a dioxide derivative shows the most intense fluorescence.  相似文献

A reproducible formation of strongly bent crystals was accomplished by structurally restraining macrocyclic π-conjugated molecules. The model π-units consist of two 9,10-bis(2-thienylethynyl)anthracenes with a strong propensity for stacking, which are connected in a macrocyclic fashion via two alkylene linkers. The correlation between the crystalline morphology and the macrocyclic structures restrained by a variety of flexible alkylene linker combinations was systematically studied. Bent crystals were obtained only with specific alkylene linkers of appropriate chain length. The alkylene linkers can adopt different conformations in the crystal packing, so as to fill voids within the macrocycle. The ability to form several similar molecular structures with different alkylene conformations gives rise to contaminations of different crystalline phases within a single crystal, and it is these phase contaminations which are responsible for the bending of the crystals.  相似文献

A near-infrared (NIR) polymethine dye ( 1 ), consisting of a cyclohepta[1,2-b;4,3-b′]dithiophene and two phenol moieties, was synthesized. This dye exhibited pH-responsive changes in its photophysical properties due to a two-step acid–base equilibrium that produced a protonated cation ( 1H+ ) and an anion ( 1 ). While 1H+ showed an intense fluorescence in the red region of the visible spectrum, 1 exhibited a strong absorption in the NIR region. The tropylium ion character in 1H+ induces high pKa1 and pKa2 values for 1 . Moreover, a stable radical ( 1. ) was prepared, which showed a NIR absorption band with a maximum at circa 1600 nm. The cyclic voltammogram of 1. revealed a two-step reversible redox process that produced 1 and the cation 1+ , which is different from 1H+ . These redox processes accompany drastic electrochromic changes in the vis–NIR region. Overall, 1 is susceptible to multiple interconversions between five forms, due to the multifaceted character of the cycloheptadithiophene skeleton.  相似文献

Summary Viscosities of particle filled polymer melts were measured at fairly low shear rate. Particles were glass beads, glass balloons, and silas balloons. Polymers were polyethylene and polystyrene. Flow curves were superimposed with respect to concentration of filler. The relative viscosity defined as the ratio of viscosity of filled polymer to that of unfilled polymer at the same shear stress is obtained as an asymptotic value even for highly filled material. The relation between relative viscosity and volume fraction of filler was represented by the equations derived byMaron andPierce orMooney. Only the distribution of particle size had influence on relative viscosity at a defined filler concentration. Yield stresses were estimated, and found to increase exponentially in the range of volume fraction from 0.1 to 0.5.
Zusammenfassung Viskositäten von Polymerschmelzen, die mit Teilchen gefüllt worden waren, wurden bei mittleren Schergeschwindigkeiten bestimmt. Als Teilchen wurden Voll- und Hohlkugeln aus Glas, sowie sog. silas balloons, als Polymere Polyäthylen und Polystyrol verwendet. Die Fließkurven für verschiedene Füllstoffkonzentrationen wurden überlagert. Die relative Viskosität, definiert als das Verhältnis der Viskositäten von gefülltem und ungefülltem Polymer bei gleicher Schubspannung, besitzt einen asymptotischen Wert selbst für hoch gefülltes Material. Die Beziehung zwischen relativer Viskosität und Füllstoff-Volumenkonzentration läßt sich durch eine vonMaron undPierce oder eine vonMooney abgeleitete Gleichung beschreiben. Nur die Teilchengrößenverteilung hat bei einer definierten Füllstoffkonzentration einen Einfluß auf die relative Viskosität. Fließspannungen werden abgeschätzt und dafür in einem Konzentrationsbereich zwischen 0,1 und 0,5 ein exponentieller Anstieg gefunden.

Synthesis and metal binding properties of thiolariat ethers, where a sulfide side chain is introduced into a framework of a crown ether, have been performed. Remarkably high Ag(+) selectivity among heavy metal ions was observed in solvent extraction and transport across a liquid membrane using thiolariat ethers with a 15-crown-5 ring as carriers. Thiolariat ethers with a 12-crown-4 or a 18-crown-6 do not exhibit such a high Ag(+) selectivity. The former binds metal ions weakly, and the latter recognizes Pb(2+) as well as Ag(+). The corresponding oxygen analogs, i.e. lariat ethers, do not show Ag(+) selectivity. The Ag(+) binding strength of the sulfoxide and sulfone analogs is much lower than that of thiolariat ethers. Thiolariat ethers with a benzocrown framework containing a sulfide chain at the 4 position of the benzene nucleus showed very low affinity to Ag(+). Extractability and transport ability using various thiolariat ether derivatives strongly suggested that this high Ag(+) selectivity is a result of the synergistic coordination of the ring oxygen and the sulfur atom of the thiolariat ether. NMR chemical shifts of protons and carbons in the proximity of the sulfur atom of the thiolariat ether were changed significantly in accordance with the synergistic coordination described above. 1:1 Complexation between a thiolariat ether and Ag(+) were supported by a Job plot using the chemical shift of the methylene protons adjacent to the sulfur atom.  相似文献

High-resolution vibrational electron energy loss spectroscopy, low-energy electron diffraction and Auger electron spectroscopy have been used to study the interactions of nitrogen with the Pd(110) surface. At 120 K, N2 is chemisorbed molecularly on the Pd(110) surface, and the (2 × 1)-N2 structure is formed. Most probably, the N2 molecules are chemisorbed in the on-top sites of the bulk-like Pd(110) surface in the upright-linear structure. The Pd---N2 bond energy is estimated to be ˜ 6 kcal/mol. The Pd---N2 and N---N stretching vibrations of N2 admolecules on Pd(110) are observed at 30 and 278 meV, respectively. The primary-energy dependence and angle dependence of their excitation cross sections agree reasonably well with the prediction of the dipole theory. The electron beam-induced effects are briefly discussed.  相似文献
