This paper addressed the implementation of vortex filament methods on parallel machines with distributed memory to simulate a three-dimensionally evolving jet. Vortical structure developments due to Kelvin–Helmholtz instability of the axially perturbed jet are also examined. The implementation is conducted in a single-programme multiple-data (SPMD) environment and the parallelism is focused on issues of data distribution, efficient support of parallel I/O and overlapping of communications with computations. In addition, since the number of segment markers in a filament is dynamically growing according to the requirement of numerical accuracy, a novel packet-oriented data structure is proposed not only to partition filament segment markers among distributed processors but also to support dynamical load balancing at run time. This work is the first to apply packet-oriented structures to implement a parallel vortex filament method. Experimental results indicate performance improvement from 1·5 to 2·6 times over static schemes on nCUBE2, DEC Alpha and IBM SP2 by incorporating the proposed scheme with packet-oriented structures. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. The first Te–Mn–CO clusters were obtained by the thermal reaction of K2TeO3 with [Mn2(CO)10] in MeOH. The basicity of the μ4-Te ligand in the octahedral cluster anion [(μ4-Te)2Mn4(CO)12]2− is demonstrated by its binding to the fragment [(TeMe2)Mn(CO)4]+ in an axial fashion to afford the novel cluster 1 .  相似文献

Resistance of cancer stem cells to radiotherapy remains a major obstacle to successful cancer management. Prominin‐1 (PROM1) is a cancer stem cell marker. Nanoparticle (NP) chemotherapeutics preferentially accumulate in tumors and are able to target cancer and cancer stem‐like cells through cancer cell‐specific ligands, making them uniquely suited as radiosensitizers for chemoradiation therapy. Using a biocompatible apoferritin NP, a PROM1‐targeted NP carrying irinotecan (PROM1‐NP) is engineered. The synergistic effect of the NP and irradiation is evaluated in PROM1‐overexpressing HCT‐116 colorectal cancer cell lines in vitro and in vivo. PROM1‐NP has a size of 17.2 ± 0.2 nm and surface charge of ?13.5 ± 0.2 mV. It demonstrates higher intracellular uptake than nontargeted NP or irinotecan alone. Treatment with PROM1‐NPs decreases HCT‐116 cell proliferation in a dose‐ and time‐dependent manner. In vitro radiosensitization reveals that PROM1‐NP is significantly more effective as a radiosensitizer than nontargeted NP or irinotecan. HCT‐116 tumor xenograft growth is markedly slower following treatment with PROM1‐NP plus irradiation, suggesting that PROM1‐NP is more effective as a radiosensitizer than irinotecan and nontargeted NP in vivo. This study provides the first preclinical evidence of the effectiveness of PROM1‐targeted NP formulation of irinotecan as a radiosensitizer.  相似文献

A hybrid inorganic–polymer nanocomposite using CdSe nanocrystals with high electron mobility has been successfully synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). First the hydroxyl‐coated CdSe nanoparticles (i.e., CdSe–OH) were prepared via a wet chemical route. A polymerization initiator was then prepared for ATRP of N‐vinylcarbazole. FT‐IR, 1H NMR, and XRD analyses confirmed the successful synthesis of CdSe–poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) nanohybrid. UV–Vis spectra and photoluminescence data revealed that grafting of PVK onto the surface of CdSe nanocrystals would reduce the band gap of PVK and cause the red shift of emission peak. TEM and SEM micrographs exhibited CdSe nanoparticles that were well‐coated with PVK polymer.

An inverse nodal problem is studied for the diffusion operator with real-valued coefficients on a finite interval with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The oscillation of the eigenfunctions corresponding to large modulus eigenvalues is established and an asymptotic of the nodal points is obtained. We present a C-aperture encircled by a groove that makes possible the hybrid effect of coupling surface plasmon resonance to propagating waves. Compared to a single C aperture, the groove-encircled aperture can increase transmission by a factor of 2.45 in the near field and by a factor of 1.88 in the far field, showing good agreement with our theoretical calculation.  相似文献

This paper presents a fully numerical method for predicting multiple pure tones, also known as “Buzzsaw” noise. It consists of three steps that account for noise source generation, nonlinear acoustic propagation with hard as well as lined walls inside the nacelle, and linear acoustic propagation outside the engine. Noise generation is modeled by steady, part-annulus computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. A linear superposition algorithm is used to construct full-annulus shock/pressure pattern just upstream of the fan from part-annulus CFD results. Nonlinear wave propagation is carried out inside the duct using a pseudo-two-dimensional solution of Burgers? equation. Scattering from nacelle lip as well as radiation to farfield is performed using the commercial solver ACTRAN/TM. The proposed prediction process is verified by comparing against full-annulus CFD simulations as well as against static engine test data for a typical high bypass ratio aircraft engine with hardwall as well as lined inlets. Comparisons are drawn against nacelle unsteady pressure transducer measurements at two axial locations as well as against near- and far-field microphone array measurements outside the duct.  相似文献

Distributed power grid (DPG) control systems are so highly interconnected that the effects of local disturbances as well as transmission time delays can be amplified as they propagate through a complex network of transmission lines. These effects deteriorate control performance and could possibly destabilize the overall system. In this paper, a new approximated discretization method and digital design for DPG control systems with multiple state, input and output delays as well as a generalized bilinear transformation method are presented. Based on a procedure for the generation of impulse response data, the multiple fractional/integer time-delayed continuous-time system is transformed to a discrete-time model with multiple integer time delays. To implement the digital modeling, the singular value decomposition (SVD) of a Hankel matrix together with an energy loss level is employed to obtain an extended discrete-time state space model. Then, the extended discrete-time state space model of the DPG control system is reformulated as an integer time-delayed discrete-time system by computing its observable canonical form. The proposed method can closely approximate the step response of the original continuous time-delayed DPG control system by choosing various energy loss levels. For completeness, an optimal digital controller design for the DPG control system and a generalized bilinear transformation method with a tunable parameter are also provided, which can re-transform the integer time-delayed discrete-time model to its continuous-time model. Illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed method.  相似文献
