We propose and demonstrate a wavelength tunable wavelength division multiplexing channel isolation filter based on two concatenated chirped long-period fiber gratings (LPGs). An intergrating space (IGS), deliberately introduced between the two gratings, provides an extra phase difference between the core and cladding modes. Changing this phase by heating the IGS without affecting the gratings tunes the channels. A theoretical account of the filter action is also presented and the results are found to be in excellent agreement with the experiments. Unlike the filters based on normal concatenated chirped LPGs without an IGS, the current filter shows a linear tuning over an increased spectral range. 相似文献

Phenylglycine hydrazide was synthesized and investigated by X-ray crystallography. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P121/c with cell parameters a=5.9459 (18) Angstrom, b=5.1940 (16) Angstrom, c=26.7793 (83) Angstrom and Z=2. Its conformational changes, on complexation with transition metal ions Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II) has been studied on the basis of elemental analysis, magnetic moment and spectral (IR, (1)H NMR, UV-vis) studies. The bidentate nature of the ligand was confirmed on the basis of a comparative IR and NMR spectral studies. The trigonal bipyramidal geometries were observed for Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes, while it is octahedral for the remaining complexes. with its manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) complexes. The single crystal X-ray diffraction
studies of the ligand reveal the presence of two crystallographically independent molecules in asymmetric unit cell, which
exhibit N…N attractive interaction. The PPCAQ and its metal complexes were characterized by analytical, spectroscopic (i.r.,
n.m.r and u.v.–vis), magnetic moment, conductance and thermal studies. The i.r. spectral studies reveal the ligational diversity
of the PPCAQ towards different metal ions as NNN donor in cobalt(II), copper(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) complexes and as
ONN donor in manganese(II) and nickel(II) complexes. The antimicrobial activity of all the compounds was tested; copper(II),

A simple, rapid and accurate method for the determination of chloride in magnesium metal has been developed. The quantitative determination of chloride was accomplished by anion exchange chromatography with conductometric determination. A Metrosep Anion Dual 2 analytical column connected in series with a Metrosep RP guard column was used for chloride separation. A solution containing a mixture of 1.3 mM Na2CO3 and 2 mM NaHCO3 was used as eluent. The method requires a sample dissolution using nitric acid. The limit of detection for the determination of chloride is 50 mg kg(-1) and the relative standard deviation was 5% for the overall method. The recovery of chloride added was 99-102%. No interference was observed from either the closely eluting "system peak" or the nitrate peak in the determination of chloride. 相似文献

We formed monolayers and black lipid membranes (BLMs) of photopolymerizable lipids mixed with the channel-forming protein gramicidin A to evaluate their miscibility and the potential for improved stability of the BLM scaffold through polymerization. Analyses of surface pressure vs area isotherms indicated that gramicidin A dispersed with three different synthetic, polymerizable, diacetylene-containing phospholipids, 1,2-di-10,12-tricosadiynoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DTPC), 1,2-di-10,12-tricosadiynoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DTPE), and 1-palmitoyl-2,10,12-tricosadiynoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (PTPE) to form mixed monolayers at the air-water interface on a Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) trough. Conductance measurements across a diacetylenic lipid-containing BLM confirmed dispersion of the gramicidin channel with the lipid layer and demonstrated gramicidin ion-channel activity before and after UV exposure. Polymerization kinetics of the diacetylenic films were monitored by film pressure changes at constant LB trough area and by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy of polymerized monolayers deposited onto quartz. An initial increase in film pressure of both the pure diacetylene lipid monolayers and mixed films upon exposure to UV light indicated a change in the film structure. Over the time scale of the pressure increase, an absorbance peak indicative of polymerization evolved, suggesting that the structural change in the lipid monolayer was due to polymerization. Film pressure and absorbance kinetics also revealed degradation of the polymerized chains at long exposure times, indicating an optimum time of UV irradiation for maximized polymerization in the lipid layer. Accordingly, exposure of polymerizable lipid-containing black lipid membranes to short increments of UV light led to an increase in the bilayer lifetime. 相似文献

We investigate a new type of surface instability of a thin elastic film subjected to surface interactions such as van der Waals and electrostatic forces from another solid surface in its vicinity. It is found that a sufficiently soft (shear modulus <10 MPa) and nearly incompressible film deforms to form an undulating pattern without any mass transport. A novel feature is that the characteristic length scale of the pattern is nearly independent of the nature and magnitude of the external force, but varies linearly with the film thickness. These results explain some recent experiments and are applicable to problems such as adhesion and friction at soft solid interfaces, peeling of adhesives, patterning of solid surfaces, etc. 相似文献

The importance of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) is being rapidly felt. The combination of favourable production economics and excellent product performance characteristics has enabled this new plastic to gain acceptance for a wide variety of applications. No studies on the rheological properties of LLDPE exist to date. The viscous and elastic properties of this new polymer has now been investigated and unified curves for viscosity and normal stress differences are given.
