Clean,One‐Pot Synthesis of Naphthopyran Derivatives in Aqueous Media

A general and practical one‐pot synthesis of naphthopyran derivatives using hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HTMAB) as catalyst (10 mol%) is described. This method provides several advantages such as neutral conditions, high yields and simple workup procedure. The catalyst is low cost, facile, active, environmentally friendly, and reusable. In addition, water is chosen as a green solvent.     

Organocatalytic Conjugate Addition of Azide Ion to α,β‐Unsaturated Aldehydes

An efficient and simple amine‐catatalyzed azide conjugate addition to α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes has been developed. In the presence of a catalytic amount of tertiary amine with a 1:1 mixture of NaN₃ and 37% HCl in CH₂Cl₂, α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes provided β‐azido aldehydes, which could be transformed into 1,3‐amino alcohols.     

Diammonium Hydrogen Phosphate: An Efficient and Versatile Catalyst for the One‐Pot Synthesis of Tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyran Derivatives in Aqueous Media

Diammonium hydrogen phosphate was used as a mild, efficient, neutral, and cheap catalyst for the synthesis of various 4H‐benzo[b]pyran derivatives via a one‐pot, three‐component condensation of aromatic aldehydes, active methylene compounds, and dimedone in aqueous media.     

Ammonium Chlorochromate Adsorbed on Silica Gel: A New Reagent for the Oxidation of Alcohols and Benzoins to Corresponding Carbonyl Compounds

A new reagent, Ammonium chlorochromate adsorbed on silica gel, suitable for the oxidation of alcohols and benzoins to the corresponding carbonyl compounds is described.     

Study on the Synthesis and Bioactivity of Novel Mahkoside A Derivatives

Abstract

A series of novel Mahkoside A derivatives was synthesized, and their in vitro cytotoxic activities were evaluated against the human cancer cell line Ec‐9706. A Preliminary structure–activity relationship study showed compounds 7 and 8 have obvious cytotoxic activities (IC₅₀: 30.0 and 12.5 µg · mL^?1, respectively).     

Microwave‐Assisted Synthesis and Antiprotozoal Activity of Pyridazines Carrying Polyfluoro Substituents

A number of 4,5‐dichloro‐ and 4,5‐dibromopyridazin‐3‐ones and ‐3,6‐diones with polyfluoro substituents at position 2 were obtained in good yields by microwave‐assisted method. The oxopyridazines as well as their respective 5‐dimethylaminoethylamino derivatives were tested for antibacterial, antiviral, and antiprotozoal activity.     

Reductive Coupling of Aldehydes,Ketones and Aroyl Chlorides Induced by LVT Prepared from TiCl4/Al System

Aluminium powder has been used to reduce titanium tetrachloride to generate the low valent titanium (LVT)reagent which can induce the reductive coupling of aldehydes and ketones to form the corresponding pinacols or olefins. However, arylsulfonyl chlorides will give diaryldisulfides under the same condition.     

Cascade reaction for 3-pyrrolines and pyrroles from nitroallylic acetates and N-mesyl 2-aminoethanones

Cascade reactions of nitroallylic acetates with methanesulfonyl 2-aminoethanones affords either the 3-pyrrolines or the pyrroles in one pot depending on reaction solvents and temperature. A possible mechanism for the entire sequence is proposed.     

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Two Succinato‐Bridged Macrocyclic Nickel(II) Complexes

Two dinuclear succinato‐bridged nickel(II) complexes [Ni(RR‐L)]₂(μ‐SA)(ClO₄)₂ ( 1 ) and [Ni(SS‐L)]₂(μ‐SA)(ClO₄)₂ ( 2 ) (L = 5, 5, 7, 12, 12, 14‐hexamethyl‐1, 4, 8, 11‐tetraazacyclotetradecane, SA = succinic acid) were synthesized and characterized by EA, Circular dichroism (CD), as well as IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction analyses revealed that the Ni^II atoms display a distorted octahedral coordination arrangement, and the succinato ligand bridges two central Ni^II atoms in a bis bidentate fashion to form dimers in 1 and 2 . The monomers of {[Ni(RR‐L)]₂(μ‐SA)}²⁺ and {[Ni(SS‐L)]₂(μ‐SA)}²⁺ are connected by O–H ··· O and N–H ··· O hydrogen bonds into a 1D right‐handed and left‐handed helical chain along the b axis, respectively. The homochiral natures of 1 and 2 are confirmed by the results of CD spectroscopy.
