This note investigates two long-standing conjectures on the Krull dimension of integer-valued polynomial rings and of polynomial rings in the context of (locally) essential domains.

The rotation-tunneling spectrum of the second most stable gGg′ conformer of ethylene glycol (1,2-ethanediol) in its ground vibrational state has been studied in selected regions between 77 and 579 GHz. Compared to the study of the more stable aGg′ conformer, a much larger frequency range was studied, resulting in a much extended frequency list covering similar quantum numbers, J?55 and Ka?19. While the input data were reproduced within experimental uncertainties up to moderately high values of J and Ka larger residuals remain at higher quantum numbers. The severe mixing of the states caused by the Coriolis interaction between the two tunneling substates is suggested to provide a considerable part of the explanation. In addition, a Coriolis interaction of the gGg′ ground vibrational state with an excited state of the aGg′ conformer may also contribute. Relative intensities of closely spaced lines have been investigated to determine the signs of the Coriolis constants between the two tunneling substates relative to the dipole moment components and to estimate the magnitudes of the dipole moment components and the energy difference between the gGg′ and the aGg′ conformers. Results of ab initio calculations on the total dipole moment and the vibrational spectrum were needed for these estimates. The current analysis is limited to transitions with quantum numbers J?40 and Ka?6 plus those having J?22 and Ka?17 which could be reproduced within experimental uncertainties. The results are aimed at aiding radioastronomers to search for gGg′ ethylene glycol in comets and in interstellar space. 相似文献

We study quantum antiferromagnetism on the highly frustrated planar pyrochlore lattice, also known as the square lattice with crossings. The quantum Heisenberg antiferromagnet on this lattice is of interest as a two-dimensional analogue of the pyrochlore lattice magnet. By combining several approaches we conclude that this system is most likely ordered for all values of spin, S, with a two-fold degenerate valence-bond solid being the ground state for small S. We show next that the Ising antiferromagnet with a weak four-spin exchange, equivalent to square ice with the leading quantum dynamics, exhibits analogous plaquette order. As a byproduct of this analysis we obtain, in the system of weakly coupled ice planes, a sliding phase with XY symmetry; at intermediate couplings, long range “anti-ferroelectric” order is stabilized. 相似文献

The joint probability distribution function (PDF) of the height and its gradients is derived for a zero tension d + 1-dimensional Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation. It is proved that the height's PDF of zero tension KPZ equation shows lack of positivity after a finite time t c . The properties of zero tension KPZ equation and its differences with the case that it possess an infinitesimal surface tension is discussed. Potassium aluminophosphate glass with the composition 30 K2O-20 Al2O3-50 P2O5 (wt %) doped with four-valence vanadium was prepared and analyzed. Some physicochemical properties of the glass obtained
and its absorption and luminescence spectra were investigated at 300 K. The existence of oxovanadium ions in the prepared
glass was proved on the basis of the electronic absorption data. The bands observed in the electronic absorption spectrum
were assigned to the e→b
1 and e→a
1 transitions. Intense luminescence of four-valence vanadium in the wavelength range 800–1100 nm was found. The average luminescence
decay time amounts to 12 μs.

The phenomenon of plasmon resonance in a nanosphere and a nanospheroid is considered. As is known, this phenomenon does not depend explicitly on the size of these nanoparticles. The results of a complex investigation of the recording of dynamic holograms by pulsed radiation with a duration of 20 ns and 300 ps in fullerene-containing media based on porous glasses and polymethyl methacrylate matrices are reported. Spectral analysis of these media in the range 300–700 nm was performed. The efficiency of hologram recording was found to relate with the occurrence of a band at 330 nm in the absorption spectrum of a medium. It is shown that dynamic holograms can be recorded in the fullerene-containing media by nanosecond and picosecond pulses. In the latter case, holograms arise mainly due to a change in the electronic polarizability of fullerene molecules, which is almost inertialess. The results obtained can be used in the development of ultrafast switching devices based on dynamic holograms. 相似文献
