Effect of phase fluctuations on entanglement generation in a correlated emission laser with injected coherence

This proposal investigates the influence of the phase fluctuations on the time evolution of entanglement generation in a three-level correlated emission laser (CEL) with injected coherence. The atoms are injected in the cavity with an initial partial coherent superposition of the upper and lower levels. The corresponding phase φ is considered to be randomly distributed around some fixed phase φ₀. The fluctuations in phase φ modifies the coherence between the two corresponding atomic levels. Therefore, we observe strong influence of phase fluctuations on the entanglement generation using the injected coherence CEL system.     

Novel homo-bimetallic complexes of [N10] macrocyclic ligand modified with tetrapeptide function: Biological activities, spectral and cyclic voltammetric studies

The bimetallic complexes [M₂LCl₄] (M = Cr, Co, Ni, Cu) prepared via metal template cyclization reactions were characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. L is a 30-membered [N₁₀] macrocycle with tetraamide functions bind metal ions through aza donors forming hexa-coordinate geometry. The perspective view and important structural parameters have been computed from the molecular model (MOPAC) method. The electrochemical studies indicate existence of quasi-reversible redox couples in solution. The metal complexes were screened (in vitro) against a few pathogenic fungi and bacteria to assess their growth inhibiting potential.     

Studies on electrochemical characterization and performance prediction of cellulose acetate and Zeocarb-225 composite membranes in aqueous NaCl solutions

We have mixed cellulose acetate and Zeocarb-225 in different ratios, leading to the preparations of Membrane-1 and Membrane-2. Membrane potential, water content, and conductance measurements have been carried out to estimate and analyze the data in terms of equilibria and important electrochemical parameters. The Donnan equilibrium has been incorporated to estimate the activity coefficient of counterions, y(p)M, and solute, y(+/-)M in the membrane phase along with the parameter, so called varphi expressing non-ideality. Dependence of the extent of hydrophilicity of both membranes on mean electrolyte concentrations has been examined. Selectivity in membranes is discussed in terms of dissociation equilibria, K(d)s and K(d)f. It has been found that membrane surface charge density sigma(s) increases with increasing of external NaCl concentration. Dependence of water transport number and cationic transport number on electrolyte concentration shows a similar trend of variation. At higher mean concentration of electrolyte, water transport number in Membrane-2 has a negative value. Membrane-2 has a higher value of water transport number than Membrane-1. The entropy production due to solute and water transport has been quantified for both the membranes in the light of nonequilibrium thermodynamics. The various type of interactions such as solute-membrane, solute-water, and water-membrane are analyzed in terms of friction coefficients (f(ij)) of Spiegler's frictional pore model. In our case, an f(wm) < f(sm) < f(sw)-like trend is observed in both membranes. These frictional coefficients show close dependence on external electrolyte concentrations. Pore potential values of Membrane-1 and Membrane-2 have been worked out using the Poisson-Boltzmann equation. In both systems pore potential values increase with increasing mean electrolyte concentrations. The transport through Membrane-1 and Membrane-2 tends to follow diffusion-control criteria, i.e., (D(+/-) . C. d/D(+/-)M C(M) . delta) > 2. A slightly higher value of solute rejection is found in Membrane-2.     

Time-bandwidth problem in room temperature slow light

For many applications of slow or stopped light, the delay-time-bandwidth product is a fundamental issue. So far, however, slow-light demonstrations do not show a large delay-time-bandwidth product, especially in room temperature solids. Here we demonstrate that the use of artificial inhomogeneous broadening has the potential to solve this problem. A proof-of-principle experiment is done using slow light produced by two-beam coupling in a photorefractive crystal Ce:BaTiO3 where Bragg selection is used to provide the artificial inhomogeneity. Examples of how to generalize this concept for use with other room temperature slow-light solids are also given.     

B.-Y. Chen’s Inequality for Bi-warped Products and Its Applications in Kenmotsu manifolds

In this paper, we establish a sharp inequality for the squared norm of the second fundamental form of bi-warped product submanifolds of Kenmotsu manifolds. The equality case is also considered. We also provide a non-trivial example and some applications of derived inequality.     

Phytoconstituents from the galls of Pistacia integerrima Stewart

Phytochemical investigation of the galls of Pistacia integerrima Stewart (Pistaceaceae) yielded three new phytoconstituents characterized as n-decan-3′-ol-yl-n-eicosanoate, n-octadecan-9,11-diol-7-one and 3-oxo-9β-lanost-1,20(22)-dien-26-oic acid along with the known compound β-sitosterol. The structures of these phytoconstituents have been elucidated on the basis of spectral data analysis and chemical reactions.

A Note on Classification of Teleparallel Conformal Vector Fields in Cylindrically Symmetric Static Space-Times in the Teleparallel Theory of Gravitation

In this paper we explored teleparallel conformal vector fields in cylindrically symmetric static space-times in the teleparallel theory of gravitation by using the direct integration technique. It turns out that the dimension of teleparallel conformal vector fields are 8, 9, 10 or 11. The case VI in which the space-time becomes conformally flat admits eleven independent teleparallel conformal vector fields.     

Determination of hydrazine by direct titration with hypobromite

Summary A simple, accurate and rapid method is described for the determination of hydrazine by direct titration with hypobromite using Bordeaux B as indicator. The procedure can also be employed for the determination of hypobromite and bromate by titration with standard hydrazine.

Zusammenfassung Zur Bestimmung von Hydrazin wird die direkte Titration mit Hypobromitlösung und Bordeaux B als Indicator empfohlen. Das Verfahren ist einfach, rasch durchführbar und liefert genaue Ergebnisse. Es kann auch zur Bestimmung von Hypobromit und Bromat durch Titration mit Hydrazinlösung verwendet werden.
