Cyperus rotundus L. has been extensively used in ancient medication for the treatment of different disorders worldwide, in which sesquiterpenes are the most representative components. In this study, sesquiterpenes were effectively purified by two-dimensional counter-current chromatography in combination with continuous injection and inner-recycling mode with a solvent system of n-hexane/ethyl acetate/methanol/water (1:0.2:1:0.2, v/v/v/v). For one-dimension separation, continuous injection mode was used with three times injection and the inner-recycling mode was adopted for the separation of two mixtures for two-dimensional separation. Finally, four sesquiterpenoids, including scariodione ( 1 ), cyperenoic acid ( 2 ), scariodione ( 3 ), and α-cyperone ( 4 ), were obtained with purities over 98%. Mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance were applied to identify their structures. The results from the anti-inflammation effect with zebrafish demonstrated that cyperenoic acid exhibited stronger anti-inflammation activity. Molecular docking results suggested that cyperenoic acid possessed lower binding energies –9.4545 kcal/mol with 1CX2 to form formed hydrogen bond interaction with ARG120. In general, all the obtained findings proved that the strong anti-inflammation capacity of cyperenoic acid can have the potential of being adopted for treating diseases resulting from inflammation. 相似文献

Cost-effective separation of oil and immiscible organic contaminants from water has become an urgent challenge to protect aquatic and human life from devastating effects. Therefore, it has become imperative to develop super-selective materials for efficiently separating oil from water. In this work, a superhydrophobic surface has been formed that consists of a silane@polystyrene-coated polypropylene fibrous network (silane@PS-PPF) for efficient separation of accidentally spilled oil from water. The superhydrophobic PPFs were designed by a simple, cost-effective two-step process that includes photochemically controlled polymerization of styrene and subsequent dip coating in octadecyltrichlorosilane solution. The hydrophobic surface (CA=129°±4°) of the PS coated PPF after treating with silane was turned into a superhydrophobic body (CA=161°±2°). The achieved silane@PS-PPF fibrous network selectively allowed the fast permeation of the oils and non-polar organic liquids by altogether rejecting water during operation. The separation efficiency for various oils from the contaminated water was 96 to 99%, with a high flux in the range of 7606±312 L m−2h−1 to 9870±151 L m−2h−1. Apart from being used as a filter, the silane@PS-PPF was also used as an oil absorber and has shown an absorption capacity in the range of 1185 to 1535% for various oils. We anticipate that the developed silane@PS-PPF, due to its facile synthetic route, cost-effectiveness, and high performance, can be effectively used in oily wastewater treatment and clean-up of large oil spills from water. 相似文献

This research paper comprises of the synthesis of polypyrrole (PPy)-Fe2O3 nanocomposites by employing the in situ chemical oxidative polymerization method. The concentration of the filler material was adjusted between 10–50 wt % of PPy. The synthesized nanocomposites were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD). Magnetic analysis and DC electrical conductivity of the samples were carried out using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and two probe DC conductivity method, point towards magnetically active and electrically conductive samples. The magnetic parameters under applied magnetic field demonstrated that the values of coercivity (H c ), saturation magnetization (M s ) and remanence (M r ) can be tailored by carefully controlling the amount of dopant material into the nanocomposites indicating their suitability for controllable switching devices and microwave absorption applications. The DC electrical conductivity showed an increase up to 20 wt % of filler material and thereafter a decrease in the conductivity of nanocomposites with increase in filler content is observed. Marine drugs are abundant in number, comprise of a diverse range of structures with corresponding mechanisms of action, and hold promise for the discovery of new and better treatment approaches for the management of several chronic diseases. There are huge reserves of natural marine biological compounds, as 70 percent of the Earth is covered with oceans, indicating a diversity of chemical entities on the planet. The marine ecosystems are a rich source of bioactive products and have been explored for lead drug molecules that have proven to be novel therapeutic targets. Over the last 70 years, many structurally diverse drug products and their secondary metabolites have been isolated from marine sources. The drugs obtained from marine sources have displayed an exceptional potential in the management of a wide array of diseases, ranging from acute to chronic conditions. A beneficial role of marine drugs in human health has been recently proposed. The current review highlights various marine drugs and their compounds and role in the management of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular disorders, which has led to the development of new drug treatment approaches. 相似文献

Effects of variable viscosity on the flow and heat transfer in a thin film on a horizontal porous stretching sheet are analyzed. The steady boundary layer equations for momentum and thermal energy are simplified by using similarity transformations. The resulted and coupled nonlinear differential equations are solved by Homotopy analysis method. A simple, specific, and precise high-performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of ofloxacin (OFX), tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride (THC), and prednisolone acetate (PAC) in ophthalmic suspension using propylparaben (POP) as the internal standard. The mobile phase consists of 0.05 M phosphate buffer-acetonitrile (65:35, v/v), and the pH is adjusted to 2.7 with orthophosphoric acid. A column containing octadecyl silane chemically bonded to porous silica particles (Waters Spherisorb, 5 microm ODS 1, 4.6 x 150 mm) is used as the stationary phase. The detection is carried out using a variable wavelength UV-vis detector set at 210 nm for OFX and THC and 254 nm for POP (internal standard) and PAC. The solutions are chromatographed at a constant flow rate of 1.2 mL/min. Retention times for OFX, THC, POP, and PAC are approximately 2.5, 4.5, 7.8, and 9.5 min, respectively. The relative retention times are approximately 0.14 min for OFX, 0.35 min for THC, 1.00 min for POP, and 1.22 min for PAC. The linearity range and percent recoveries for OFX, THC, and PAC are 24-120, 4-16, and 16-80 microg/mL and 100.48%, 100.34%, and 100.21%, respectively. 相似文献

The purpose of this work is to investigate the hydromagnetic oscillatory flow of a fluid
bounded by a porous plate, when the entire system rotates about an axis normal to the plate. The
fluid is assumed to be non-Newtonian (second grade), incompressible and electrically conducting.
The magnetic field is applied transversely to the direction of the flow. Such a flow model has
great significance not only of its theoretical interest, but also for applications to geophysics
and engineering. The resulting initial value problem has been solved analytically for steady and
unsteady cases. The analysis of the obtained results showed that the flow field is appreciably
influenced by the material parameter of the second grade fluid, the applied magnetic field, the
imposed frequency, rotation and suction and blowing parameters. It is observed in a second grade
fluid that a steady asymptotic hydromagnetic solution exists for blowing and resonance which is

A semi-classical theory of two intense optical fields interacting with a third-order non-linear medium composed of a three-level cascade atomic system is presented. It is predicted that non-linear atom-field interactions allow the formation of two-frequency bright, dark and grey spatial solitons.
