A study is presented of dimuon events from an exposure of BEBC to a wide band ν beam from the CERN SPS. These data double the available statistics on ν induced dilepton events observed in bubble chambers. The relative production rate and V0 yield have been measured and found to agree with previous experiments. The analysis of several kinematical variables shows that the gros features of the data agree with the predictions of the GIM model. Some indication exists that part of the signal could be due to quasi elastic production of the “beautiful baryon”, but the statistical significance is too weak to draw definitive conclusions.  相似文献

The stepwise modifications of stoichiometric mixtures of titanium chloride (TiCl 4) and titanium iso-propoxide (Ti(OPr (i)) 4) by 2-pyridine methanol (H-OPy) led to the isolation of a systematically varied, novel family of compounds. The 3:1 reaction mixture of Ti(OPr (i)) 4:TiCl 4 yielded [Cl(OPr (i)) 2Ti(mu-OPr (i))] 2 ( 1). Modification of 1 with 1 and 2 equiv of H-OPy produced [Cl(OPr (i)) 2Ti(mu c-OPy)] 2 ( 2, where mu c = chelating bridge) and "(OPy) 2TiCl(OPr (i))" ( 3, not crystallographically characterized), respectively. Altering the Ti(OPr (i)) 4 to TiCl 4 stoichiometry to 1:1 led to isolation and identification of another dimeric species [Cl 2(OPr (i))Ti(mu-OPr (i))] 2 ( 4). Upon modification with 1 equiv of H-OPy, [Cl 2(OPr (i))Ti(mu c-OPy)] 2 ( 5) was isolated from toluene and (OPy)TiCl 2(OPr (i))(py) ( 6) from py. An additional equivalent of H-OPy led to the monomeric species (OPy) 2TiCl 2 ( 7). Because of the low solubility and similarity in constructs of these compounds, additional analytical data, such as the beryllium dome or BeD-XRD powder analyses, were used to verify the bulk samples, which were found to be in agreement with the single crystal structures.  相似文献

Biomimetic synthesis is emerging as an advantageous alternative to the harsh synthetic conditions traditionally used in metal oxide syntheses techniques. Silaffins, proteins from the C. fusiformis diatom, form silica in an aqueous environment under benign conditions. Amine terminated PAMAM and PPI dendrimers are effective mimics of silaffins and other silica precipitating polyamines. We have expanded the scope of dendrimer mediated metal oxide formation to include titanium dioxide, a photocatalyst, and germanium dioxide, a blue photoluminescent material. The nanoparticles were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (IR), and X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD). A variable temperature XRD analysis of TiO(2) nanoparticles was conducted to study the transition from anatase to rutile. TiO(2) nanoparticles synthesized in phosphate buffer showed a 200 degrees C decrease in the anatase to rutile transition temperature relative to TiO(2) templated in water. XRD analysis of GeO(2) nanoparticles in either water or phosphate buffer reveal crystalline alpha-phase germanium oxide. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the synthesis of crystalline GeO(2) under ambient conditions.  相似文献

In this study, we develop an approximate formulation for two‐dimensional nonlinear Sobolev problems by focusing on pseudospectral meshless radial point interpolation (PSMRPI) which is a kind of locally applied radial basis function interpolation and truthfully a meshless approach. In the PSMRPI method, the nodal points do not need to be regularly distributed and can even be quite arbitrary. It is easy to have high order derivatives of unknowns in terms of the values at nodal points by constructing operational matrices. The convergence and stability of the technique in some sense are studied via some examples to show the validity and trustworthiness of the PSMRPI technique.  相似文献

Lasing modes in cyclic photonic molecules (CPMs) composed of several identical thin semiconductor microdisks in free space are studied in a linear approximation. Maxwell's equations with exact boundary conditions and the radiation condition at infinity are considered as a specific eigenvalue problem that enables one to find natural frequencies and threshold gains. It is demonstrated that careful tuning of the distance between the disks in CPMs is able to drastically reduce the lasing thresholds of the whispering-gallery modes having small azimuth indices.  相似文献
