Investigation of experimental observables in search of the chiral magnetic effect in heavy-ion collisions in the STAR experiment

The chiral magnetic effect(CME)is a novel transport phenomenon,arising from the interplay between quantum anomalies and strong magnetic fields in chiral systems.In high-energy nuclear collisions,the CME may survive the expansion of the quark-gluon plasma fireball and be detected in experiments.Over the past two decades,experimental searches for the CME have attracted extensive interest at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider(RHIC)and the Large Hadron Collider(LHC).The main goal of this study is to investigate three pertinent experimental approaches:the$\gamma$correlator,the R correlator,and the signed balance functions.We exploit simple Monte Carlo simulations and a realistic event generator(EBE-AVFD)to verify the equivalence of the core components among these methods and to ascertain their sensitivities to the CME signal and the background contributions for the isobar collisions at the RHIC.     

一维链状配位聚合物[Cd{5-(NO2)sal}2(2,2'-bipy)]n的合成与晶体结构

A coordination polymer of [Cd{5-(NO2)sal}2(2,2'-bipy)]n (5-(NO2)sal=5-nitrosalicylate, 2,2'-bipy=2,2'-bipyridine) was synthesized by hydrothermal reaction and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-raydiffraction single crystal structure analysis. The title complex crystallizes in monoelinic with space group C2/c, a=2.730 8(16) nm, b=1.272 3(5) nm, c=0.674 5(3) nm,β=96.73(2)°, V=2.327(2) nm3, Z=4, R=0.022 2, wR=0.057.The 5-nitrosalicylate anions doubly bridge the Cd(Ⅱ) atoms to form one-dimensional polymeric chain with therepeated eight-membered ring units (Cd-O-C-O)2. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra- and interchainhydrogen bonds interactions.     

Synthesis and structure of N-alkyl(aryl)aminocarbonyl-1,4-benzoquinone imines

New N-alkyl(aryl)aminocarbonyl-1,4-benzoquinone imines were synthesized by reaction of isocyanates with the corresponding substituted 4-aminophenols, and their structure was determined on the basis of ¹H and ¹³C NMR spectra and X-ray diffraction data.     

B(13) (+) : a photodriven molecular wankel engine

Revved-up rotary: A molecular Wankel motor, the dual-ring structure B(13) (+) , is driven by circularly-polarized infrared electromagnetic radiation. Calculations show that this illumination leads to a guided unidirectional rotation of the outer ring, which is achieved with rotational frequency of the order of 300?GHz.

Based on DFT and Born—Oppenheimer molecular dynamics calculations a model molecular Wankel motor, the dual‐ring structure B₁₃⁺, driven by circularly polarized IR radiation near 3 THz is proposed as a potential building block for nanomachines.     

Reaction of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-alkyl(aryl)aminocarbonyl-1,4-benzoquinone monoimines with alcohols

Reactions of N-alkyl(aryl)aminocarbonyl-3,5-dimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone monoimines with alcohols led to the formation of products of 1,2-addition, quinolide compounds. They are the final products in reactions with alkyl derivatives, but in event of aryl derivatives they underwent cyclization with the subsequent elimination of the alcohol molecule to provide 4,7a-dimethyl-1-aryl-7,7a-dihydro-1H-benzimidazole-2,6-diones.     

Modified Bers operators and the duality of multiplicative holomorphic automorphic forms

The integral Bers operator, related to a reflection in some quasicircle, plays an important role in the theory of single-valued automorphic forms [1, 2]. Study was started in [3] of the normed spaces of measurable and multiplicative holomorphic automorphic forms for a Fuchsian group. In the present article we introduce some basic multiplicative modifications of the Bers operator and the corresponding bilinear pairing in connection with duality in the spaces of multiplicative holomorphic automorphic forms. Under study we obtain a universal norm estimate and establish selfadjointness for all operators.
