In the present study, we have characterized in detail the MS(2) and MS(3) fragmentation behaviors, using electrospray ionization (ESI) in the negative ion mode, of previously identified sulfated isoprene secondary organic aerosol compounds, including 2-methyltetrols, 2-methylglyceric acid, 2-methyltetrol mononitrate derivatives, glyoxal and methylglyoxal. A major fragmentation pathway for the deprotonated molecules of the sulfate esters of 2-methyltetrols and 2-methylglyceric acid and of the sulfate derivatives of glyoxal and methylglyoxal is the formation of the bisulfate [HSO(4)](-) anion, while the deprotonated sulfate esters of 2-methyltetrol mononitrate derivatives preferentially fragment through loss of nitric acid. Rational interpretation of MS(2), MS(3) and accurate mass data led to the structural characterization of unknown polar compounds in K-puszta fine aerosol as organosulfate derivatives of photooxidation products of unsaturated fatty acids, i.e. 2-hydroxy-1,4-butanedialdehyde, 4,5- and 2,3-dihydroxypentanoic acids, and 2-hydroxyglutaric acid, and of alpha-pinene, i.e. 3-hydroxyglutaric acid. The deprotonated molecules of the sulfated hydroxyacids, 2-methylglyceric acid, 4,5- and 2,3-dihydroxypentanoic acid, and 2- and 3-hydroxyglutaric acids, showed in addition to the [HSO(4)](-) ion (m/z 97) neutral losses of water, CO(2) and/or SO(3), features that are characteristic of humic-like substances. The polar organosulfates characterized in the present work are of climatic relevance because they may contribute to the hydrophilic properties of fine ambient aerosol. In addition, these compounds probably serve as ambient tracer compounds for the occurrence of secondary organic aerosol formation under acidic conditions.  相似文献

The suitability of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for the elucidation of fluoxymesterone metabolism has been evaluated. Electrospray ionization (ESI) and collision induced dissociation (CID) fragmentation in LC-MS/MS and electron impact spectra (EI) in GC-MS have been studied for fluoxymesterone and two commercially available metabolites. MS(n) experiments and accurate mass measurements performed by an ion-trap analyser and a QTOF instrument respectively have been used for the elucidation of the fragmentation pathway. The neutral loss scan of 20 Da (loss of HF) in LC-MS/MS has been applied for the selective detection of fluoxymesterone metabolites. In a positive fluoxymesterone doping control sample, 9 different analytes have been detected including the parent compound. Seven of these metabolites were also confirmed by GC-MS including 5 previously unreported metabolites. On the basis of the ionization, the CID fragmentation, the accurate mass of the product ions and the EI spectra of these analytes, a tentative elucidation as well as a proposal for the metabolic pathway of fluoxymesterone has been suggested. The presence of these compounds has also been confirmed by the analysis of five other positive fluoxymesterone urine samples.  相似文献

Lanthanide complexes of the chiral Dawson phosphotungstate [alpha(1)-P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) were used to study the formation of diastereomers with optically pure organic ligands. The present work started with the full assignment of the (183)W NMR spectra of [alpha(1)-Yb(H(2)O)(4)P(2)W(17)O(61)](7-) at different temperatures and concentrations, which allowed the structure of the dimerized form in aqueous solution to be established. Different enantiopure amino acids and phosphonic acids were screened as ligands. Both types allowed chiral differentiation by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy under fast-exchange conditions. Functional groups with a good affinity for the oxo framework of the polyoxometalate were identified, and maps of the interactions between L-serine and N-phosphonomethyl-L-proline with [alpha(1)-Yb(H(2)O)(4)P(2)W(17)O(61)](7-) were established. This demonstrates the power of (183)W NMR spectroscopy to elucidate the molecular recognition of inorganic molecules by organic compounds. N-Phosphonomethyl-L-proline appears to be a convenient ligand to promote separation of the diastereomers and ultimately resolution of the enantiomers of [alpha(1)-Yb(H(2)O)(4)P(2)W(17)O(61)](7-).  相似文献

The negative-thermal-expansion material ZrW(2)O(8) is known to undergo an order-disorder phase transition which affects its expansion behavior. In this study, Ti(4+) and Sn(4+) are examined as possible substituting ions for the Zr(4+) position in ZrW(2)O(8). This substitution leads to a decrease in cell parameters, as the ionic radii of the substituents are smaller than the Zr(4+) ionic radius. A remarkable decrease in transition temperature is noticed. DSC is used to quantify the enthalpy and entropy changes during the phase transition in order to reveal the mechanisms behind this decrease. It is shown that the strength of the M-O bond plays an important role, as it is a partner in the rigid unit mode motion and the order-disorder transition mechanism.  相似文献

A new sampling method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in ambient air is described. The method is based on active sampling on sorption tubes consisting of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) foam, PDMS particles and a TENAX TA bed. After sampling, the solutes are quantitatively recovered by thermal desorption and analysed by capillary GC-MS. The new sampling method has been compared to the classical method using high-volume sampling on a glass fiber filter followed by polyurethane foam for 24h sampling of ambient air. Volumes enriched were 144 l on the mixed bed and 1296 m3 with the classical method. The concentrations measured using the new method were significantly higher that the values obtained using the classical method, i.e. a factor 1.2-3 for the high molecular weight PAHs and up to 35 times for naphthalene and 23 times for acenaphthene. The total toxicity equivalence value (TEQ) for PAHs was ca. two times higher compared to the conventional method, illustrating that the concentrations of PAHs in ambient air have been underestimated until now. Some figures of merit (mean value for 17 PAHs) of the method are repeatability 7.4%, detection limit 13 pg/m3, accuracy 105.6% and linearity 0.996. The method also opens interesting perspectives for the determination of other semi-volatile persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in air as illustrated with the analysis of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) at a workplace during removal of transformer oil.  相似文献

Single crystal structure determinations prove the two pyridine substituents in di(2-pyridyl)ketone (H4C4NC)2C=O to be twisted out of the carbonyl skeleton plane by torsion angles (OCCN) of 41° and –163°, in contrast to their planar arrangement in azo-di(2-pyridine) H4C4NC)-N=N-(CNC4H4). In order to rationalize the surprising difference between the two isoelectronic molecules, approximate PM3 enthalpy of formation hypersurfaces have been calculated for each of the two ring torsions, which are assumed to be the dominant ones among the 3N – 6 = 60 degrees of freedom. For both the ketone and the azo derivative, global minima are calculated, the torsion angles of which deviate from the crystal structure results, and, therefore, support the assumption that both the experimentally determined twisting of di(2-pyridyl)ketone as well as the flattening of azo-di(2-pyridine) might be affected by the crystal packing.  相似文献

Single crystal X-ray structures of solvated forms of theanthelmintic drug Niclosamide reveal distinctly differentmodes of inclusion for different solvents. These modes are,respectively, cavity occupation by water molecules in 1 : 1niclosamide.H2O, channel occupation by tetrahydrofuranmolecules in 1 : 1 niclosamide.THF, and intercalation bytetraethylene glycol molecules in 2 : 1 niclosamide.TEG. Inall three compounds the host drug molecule adopts the same,nearly planar conformation, which is maintained by anintramolecular N-H.O hydrogen bond. Host-guest recognitioninvariably involves hydrogen bonding between the drughydroxyl group and an oxygen acceptor atom of the solventmolecule. The observed modes of solvent inclusion can bereconciled with the behaviour of the crystals on heating.  相似文献

Phosphogypsum discharges by phosphate-ore processing industries pollute sediments of the Rotterdam harbour area with226Ra. Direct measurement of this radionuclide in sediments does not provide a reliable indication of the elevation of the levels, since226Ra levels in sediments depend on the particle size. To eliminate the size effect, the226Ra/Ba ratio in sediments was tested as a possible indicator for the226Ra in the discharges. The results indicate almost a doubling of the226Ra levels in sediment samples due to phosphogypsum discharges. The contribution of phosphogypsum to the sediment mass was calculated in the order of a few percent equivalent.  相似文献

A Role for Neuropeptides in UVB-Induced Systemic Immunosuppression   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The aim of this study was to investigate the possible role of sensory nerves in UV light-induced systemic immunomodulation. Contact hypersensitivity to the low molecular weight compound picrylchloride was used as a model for cellular immunity that can be suppressed by low (i.e. suberythemal) doses of UV light even after exposure at a distant locus (i.e. systemic immunosuppression). In sensory nerve-depleted mice, achieved by two subcutaneous injections with the neurotoxin capsaicin before the age of 4 weeks, UV light exposure failed to inhibit contact hypersensitivity responses to picrylchloride. This indicates that sensory nerves are at least partially involved in the induction of systemic immunosuppression by UV light. In order to analyze whether sensory neuropeptides, such as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and tachykinins, are involved in UV light-induced systemic immunosuppression, mice were pretreated with selective antagonists prior to each UV light exposure. These experiments indicated that CGRP but not the tachykinins plays a crucial role in the UV light-induced systemic immunosuppression.  相似文献

Detailed height profiles of stratospheric nitric acid mixing ratios have been derived with a baloon borne chemical ionization mass spectrometer by applying several ion molecule reaction schemes, each associated to a specific and selective ion source. These ions (CO3, Cln, CF3O, and CF3OH2O) give rise to specific product ions (mainly CO3HNO3, NO3HCl, NO3HF, and CF3OHNO3) upon reaction with ambient nitric acid molecules. This paper reports on the instrumental details as well as on the results obtained during two balloon flights with the instrument. Within the accuracy of the measurements, the nitric acid height profiles obtained with the three different ion sources are in good agreement with one another as well as with literature data.  相似文献
