Structure and stereochemistry of phytoecdysone from Silene cretaceae fisch

2-Deoxyecdyzone (3β,14α,22R,25-tetraoxy-5β-cholest-7-en-6-one) has been isolated from Silene cretaceae Fisch. Caryophyllaceae. The compound structure has been elucidated by X-ray diffraction studies.     

Synthesis of 5-arylisoxazole- and 4,5-dichloroisothiazole-3-carboxylates derived from natural alcohols,thymol, and its synthetic analogs

Esters derived from 5-phenyl-, 5-(4-methylphenyl)-, and 5-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-1,2-oxazole-3-carboxylic and 4,5-dichloro-1,2-thiazole-3-carboxylic acids and some natural alcohols (L-menthol, grosshemin), thymol, and synthetic analogs of the latter (4-tert-butylphenol, 4-tert-octylphenol, 2-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol) were synthesized by reactions of the corresponding alcohols with acid chlorides.     

Crystal structure 2,4-dideacetyldi-hydroxyinuchinenolide C. Effect of pseudorotation in the seven-membered ring of linear trans,trans-conjugated pseudoguanolides

The spatial structure of 2,4-dideacetyldihydroxyinuchinenolide C has been established by the x-ray structural method. On the basis of an analysis of known crystal structures of linear trans, trans-conjugated pseudoguanolides using the method of molecular mechanics it has been shown that a partial pseudo-rotation of the seven-membered carbocycle in these compounds is possible.Institute of Organic Synthesis and Coal Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karaganda. Isolation and Chemical Transformations of Vasicinone

Vasicinone and peganine were isolated from Peganum harmala L. Vasicinone 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone and vasicinone ketal were prepared.     

Synthesis of Dihalocarbene Derivatives of Arglabin

Dibromocarbene and bisdichlorocarbene derivatives of the available sesquiterpene lactone arglabin were synthesized for the first time. Molecular and crystal structure of the dimethylamide derivative of α-santonin

Chemical modification of britanin and of inuchenolide C

Analogs of helenalin possessing a broad spectrum of biological activity have been synthesized from the readily available sesquiterpene lactones britanin and inuchenolide C.
