We report on the fabrication of high-efficiency vertical-injection GaN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) fabricated with integrated surface textures. An optical ray-tracing simulation shows that the high integration of surface textures can effectively enhance the light-extraction efficiency. The integrated surface textures are fabricated on the top surface of LEDs by generating hexagonal cones on the periodically corrugated surfaces of n-GaN. Compared to reference LEDs without textures, LEDs fabricated with integrated surface textures show an enhancement of the output power by a factor of 2.59, which is in agreement with the calculated results.  相似文献

This paper aims to report the fabrication of biodegradable thin films with micro‐domains of cylindrical nanochannels through the solvent‐induced microphase separation of poly(L ‐lactide)‐block‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐block‐poly(L ‐lactide) (PLA‐b‐PEG‐b‐PLA) triblock copolymers with different block ratios. In our experimental scope, an increase in each of the block lengths of the PLA and PEG blocks led to both a variation in the average number density (146 to 32 per 100 µm2) and the size of the micro‐domains (140 to 427 nm). Analyses by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and fluorescence microscopy indicated that the hydrophilic PEG nanochannels were dispersed in the PLA matrix of the PLA‐b‐PEG‐b‐PLA films. We demonstrated that the micro‐domain morphology could be controlled not only by the block length of PEG, but also by the solvent evaporation conditions.

Summary: Fuel cells were designed for high temperature operations. Poly[2,2′‐(m‐phenylene)‐5,5′‐bibenzimidazole] (PBI) was synthesized in a solution of P2O5, CH3SO3H, and CF3SO3H. The PBI was dissolved in a mixture of CF3CO2H and H3PO4 and the solution was used for the preparation of Pt catalyst slurry for membrane electrode assembly. The single cell showed a current density of 280 mA · cm−2 at a cell voltage of 0.5 V with feeds of H2 and O2 at 160 °C and without external humidification.

Summary: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been grown on MCM‐41 supported Fe nanoparticles and the as‐prepared (no further purification) CNT‐silica hybrid was directly incorporated into nylon‐6 (PA6) by simple melt‐compounding. The urchin‐shaped CNT‐silica hybrid filler was observed to be homogeneously dispersed throughout the matrix by scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy. Compared with neat PA6, the tensile modulus and strength of the composite are greatly improved by about 110%, with incorporation of only 1 wt.‐% CNT‐silica filler.

The organophilic montmorillonite clay and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) nanocomposites were intercalated by a solvent casting method using chloroform as the cosolvent. The prepared nanocomposites were characterized by an X‐ray diffraction method to examine their microstructure. Rheological properties of both the PEO/clay nanocomposites and the immiscible PEO/clay blends were investigated via a rotational rheometer in steady shear mode with a parallel plate geometry. The shear thinning viscosity data were fitted with the Carreau model, which showed that steady shear viscosity increases with increasing clay loading. The hysteresis phenomenon is observed to be enhanced with clay loading. PEO/clay nanocomposites exhibit higher zero‐shear‐rate viscosity and sharper shear thinning behaviors than immiscible PEO/clay blends.  相似文献

Conventional fluorescent dyes have the property of decreasing fluorescence due to aggregation-caused quenching effects at high concentrations, whereas aggregation-induced emission dyes have the property of increasing fluorescence as they aggregate with each other. In this study, diketopyrrolopyrrole-based long-wavelength aggregation-induced emission dyes were used to prepare biocompatible nanoparticles suitable for bioimaging. Aggregation-induced emission nanoparticles with the best morphology and photoluminescence intensity were obtained through a fast, simple preparation method using an ultrasonicator. The optimally prepared nanoparticles from 3,6-bis(4-((E)-4-(bis(40-(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)-[1,10-biphenyl]-4-yl)amino)styryl)phenyl)-2,5-dihexyl-2,5-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione (DP-R2) with two functional groups having aggregation-induced emission properties and additional donating groups at the end of the triphenylamine groups were considered to have the greatest potential as a fluorescent probe for bioimaging. Furthermore, it was found that the tendency for aggregation-induced emission, which was apparent for the dye itself, became much more marked after the dyes were incorporated within nanoparticles. While the photoluminescence intensities of the dyes were observed to decrease rapidly over time, the prepared nanoparticles encapsulated within the biocompatible polymers maintained their initial optical properties very well. Lastly, when the cell viability test was conducted, excellent biocompatibility was demonstrated for each of the prepared nanoparticles.  相似文献

Through the use of high‐level ab initio and density functional calculations it is shown that 1,8‐diBeX‐naphthalene (X=H, F, Cl, CN, CF3, C(CF3)3) derivatives behave as anion sponges, very much as 1,8‐bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene derivatives behave as proton sponges. The electron‐deficient nature of the BeX substituents, which favors strong charge transfer from the anion towards the former, results in anion affinities that are among the largest ones reported for single neutral molecules.  相似文献
