A Novel Molecule: 1-(2,6 Dichlorobenzyl)-4-(2-(2-4-hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazinyl)pyridinium Chloride and its Interaction with DNA

Herein, a novel pyridine derivative, 1-(2,6 dichlorobenzyl)-4-(2-(2-4-hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazinyl)-pyridinium chloride (DHPC), was synthesized as a candidate drug molecule. Interaction of DHPC with DNA was used to explore its effect on DNA via Differential Pulse Voltammetry, Cyclic Voltammetry, and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. We demonstrated that oxidation signal of guanine bases of DNA decreased significantly while that of DHPC increased after its interaction with one another. Our candidate drug molecule exhibits LOD and LOQ, e.g., 1.5 μg/mL and 4.9 μg/mL, respectively. Toxicity effect value for DHPC (S%) was calculated as %31, demonstrating the candidate drug molecule's toxic effect on DNA.     

双金属银铜氧化物溴化刻蚀制备多孔纳米CuO及其硫化氢气体传感性能研究

基于CTAB对双金属银铜氧化物Ag₂Cu₂O_x的刻蚀及硫代硫酸钠溶解副产物AgBr的方法制备了两种多孔纳米CuO骨架结构,并且利用X射线衍射仪,X射线光电子能谱仪和洛伦兹透射电镜进一步研究了刻蚀机理,结果表明CuO有独特的形貌结构和更大的比表面积。利用所制备的氧化铜具有大孔隙和多位点的优势,开展了H₂S气体传感实验。实验结果显示,在150℃的较低温度下纳米CuO传感器对 500 ppb H₂S仍具有1.7(CuO-Ag₂Cu₂O₃)和1.3(CuO-Ag₂Cu₂O₄)的灵敏度值,响应和恢复时间短,具有良好的选择性和长期稳定性,未来还可以通过构建异质结或者贵金属修饰多孔氧化铜来进一步提高传感性能。     

Electrochemical Aptasensors for Biological and Chemical Analyte Detection

Aptamers are short length, single-stranded DNA or RNA affinity molecules which interact with any desired targets such as biomarkers, cells, biological molecules, drugs or chemicals with high sensitivity. They have been extensively employed for medical applications due to having more advantages than the antibodies such as easier preparation and modification, higher stability, lower batch-to-batch variability and cost. Moreover, aptamers can be easily integrated efficiently with sensors, biosensors, actuators and other devices. In this review article, different applications of aptamers for biological and chemical molecules detection within the scope of electrochemical methods were presented with recent studies. In addition, the present status and future perspectives for highly-effective aptasensors for specific and selective analyte detection were discussed. As in stated throughout the review, combining of extraordinary properties of aptamers with the electrochemical-based biosensors could have improved the sensitivity of the assay and reduced limit of detection.

Spectrophotometric determination of total inorganic arsenic with hexamethylene ammonium-hexamethylenedithiocarbamate in nonionic triton X-100 micellar media

We have developed a cost-effective and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of arsenic at trace level using a new reagent, hexamethylene ammonium-hexamethylenedithiocarbamate (HMA-HMDTC). Here we show that arsenic reacts with HMA-HMDTC in acidic conditions to yield the As(HMDTC)₃ complex. We studied the Beer’s law at 256 nm, which showed linearity over the concentration range 0.2–1.0 μg/mL of arsenic. We have shown that molar absorptivity, Sandell’s sensitivity and the detection limit of the method are 6.06 × 10⁴ L/mol cm, 0.0012 μg/cm² and 0.060 μg/mL, respectively. We have applied this new method to the determination of arsenic in drinking water.     

Density of vibrational states of a hyperquenched glass

The vibrational density of states of a hyperquenched and an annealed glass has been measured using nuclear inelastic scattering. The hyperquenched sample shows a higher number of vibrational states in the low-energy region with respect to the annealed glass. It reveals, however, lower density and sound velocity and, therefore, smaller Debye energy. After rescaling the energy axes in Debye energy units and area renormalization, the density of states of both samples becomes identical. Thus, the effect of quenching is described by the transformation of the continuous medium.     

Synthesis of novel ferrocenyl-containing pyrazolo[4,3-c]quinolines

Synthesis of novel ferrocenyl-substituted pyrazolo[4,3-c]quinolines via the Pictet-Spengler reaction is reported. Iminium intermediate formed by the condensation of pyrazole-based arylamine substrates with ferrocenecarboxaldehyde in acidic medium, undergoes 6-endo cyclization with sufficiently reactive aromatic moiety to form a pyrazolo[4,3-c]quinoline ring.
